Siasia In Belgium To Woo Moses For U-23 Eagles

Exclusive By Johnny Edward:
Comple tesportsnigeria.com can exclusively report that Nigeria U-23s‎ coach Samson Siasia is in Belgium to woo Gent winger Moses Simon for next month's CAF U-23 Cup of Nations billed to hold in Senegal.
Siasia who recently named his home-based squad is desperate to add the former Flying Eagles star to his pool but wants the player's assurance before including him in his foreign-based squad for the competition.
"Siasia has spoken to Simon ‎on his availability for the competition but I don't know yet if the player consented to his proposal," a source in the Super Eagles camp revealed to Comple tesportsnigeria.com.
Simon who has scored twice in four international games for the Super Eagles has also been linked with a move to EPL side Tottenham Hotspur.
The Nigerian international has been impressive for the Sunday Oliseh side since making his debut for the three-time African Nations Cup winners.

Awoniyi Rues Missed Goal On FSV Frankfurt Debut

By Adeboye Amosu:
Taiwo Awoniyi is delighted to to have played his first game for German Bundesliga 2 side, FSV Frankfurt, although he would have liked to score, Comple tesportsnigeria.com can report.
The Nigeria youth international who is on loan at Frankfurt from English Premier League side Liverpool was introduced in place of Yann Rollin in the 46th minute of Friday’s friendly against Mainz which ended in a 1-1 draw.
Awoniyi, who was one of the few bright spots in the Flying Eagles’ poor campaign at the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup, came close to scoring a goal for his side in the 75th minute of the encounter but is happy that he has finally made his debut for the club.
“I’m happy I have finally played my first game for the club (FSV Frankfurt),” he told Comple tesportsnigeria.com.
“I was determined to get a goal to make it a memorable start, but things didn’t come my way.
“That’s not a problem as we still have more games ahead of us this season.
“I hope to get more opportunities to play and prove my worth.”

Spurs back on track for Moses Simon - report

Nigeria star Moses Simon
EPL side Tottenham Hotspur are back tracking Nigeria international Moses Simon, according to media reports.
The performances of Simon for Gent have caught the attention of the London club's scouts, according to Daily Mail.
They are back on his trail after a string of impressive performances.
The winger, who has four caps for Nigeria with a goal, scored seven goals last season as Gent won a historic Belgian league championship and set up Depoitre for the winning goal in the Belgian Super Cup.
Tottenham and Liverpool wanted to sign Simon when he was a teenager, but he opted to train with Ajax Amsterdam instead before he signed for Trencin in Slovakia.

Musa Mohammed shines in Turkish club win

Musa Mohammed in action against Karabukspor
Flying Eagles skipper Musa Mohammed looked sharp and lively at right fullback for Basaksehir as they defeated Karabukspor 2-0 in a friendly in Turkey.
The 18-year-old Musa was solid in defence and exciting going forward when he played the full second half of the game.
His club Basaksehir, who finished fourth last season and were knocked out in the Europa League this season, are currently 13thon the Turkish Super League table with nine points from seven matches.
Musa has yet to make his official debut since his transfer in the summer, but there are strong signals he could well do so in a cup game shortly.

With last night's game this youngster has jst sealed his place in d national team. One of Musa or Moses will have to make way for him. Tottenham should pick up this kid. He has a lot to offer even as a 19 yrs old.

He is already part of Siasia's plans. But most clubs will hardly release their players for d qualifiers more so dat Moses is even in d champions league with Gent. I jst pray Nigeria qualifies for the Olympics. We have d prospect of assemblying a very good team for the olympics.

I'm impressed by the performance of Moses Simon for the super eagles last night. Hey has anyone observed that Wilfred Ndidi has played his 2 games for the eagles in the midfield. I thought he is a defender.

What a refreshing young prospect. What really impresses me is his maturity, it seems every move he makes both on and off the field are the right ones. Starting with his choice of teams he chose playing time instead of the money, also when Manu snubbed him he didn't have a bad word to say infact he even tried to get the guy that took his place a contract. There is no "hype" when i say he is one of the best young wingers in world. Scoring from the wing is very hard but he makes it look somewhat easy and most importantly for me he isn't selfish he makes the right passes. I see him playing even better for us
especially when he forms a better relationship with his teammates. Honestly though, id rather him just play senior ball for now and if Siasia wants him in Rio so be it but till then the Super Eagles is enough work load for the young man. The boy's club form is still suffering and I blame that on New Zealand, his off season break was cut short and he didn't even play, he would have been better served it home.

Now that there is competition in the wing ....victor Moses , Simon and Musa have to be more lethargic in their approach . What a healthy competition to put the team ontop .

[b]Man City: How Kelechi Iheanacho is being prepared for greatness by Gael Clichy

When your middle name is ‘Promise’ it could be argued that you are destined to go far.

But for Kelechi Iheanacho it is all about hard work - and making his sceptical dad proud.

The Manchester City youngster burst onto the scene as part of Nigeria’s Under-17 World Cup finalists in 2013 - and came to even wider notice when his first senior goal for the Blues earned a last-gasp win at Crystal Palace last month.

The 19-year-old is the brightest gem to have been polished by the club’s youth development system - but Iheanacho isn’t content to stop there.

He wants to be a ‘great’ and, with a combination of explosive skill and driven determination - plus a little help from the likes of chief cheerleader Gael Clichy - it is hard to argue against him doing so.

“It’s a dream come true for to play at this level,” he said. “There is enough confidence given to me from the manager and team.

“I’m hoping to be part of the great things that happen to this team. I hope to be one of the great players - it’s my dream to be a great player in this team.”

The win a Palace is a an early highlight following his promotion to the first-team squad this season.

“It was a great moment scoring at an away game and we needed a win,” he added in an interview with the club’s website.

“You can see from the celebration I was very happy.”

Despite the fact that he cuts a self-assured figure, Iheanacho values a star-studded cast of supporters, especially Clichy.

“They give me confidence, many of them - Yaya, Sergio, Silva, Samir, Gael Clichy as well - he encourages me every time to keep going, keep going, keep chasing the defenders,” he said.

“I wasn’t happy when he was injured so I’m hoping for him to recover quick to give me more confidence.

“I really love them and I’m happy to work with them.”

Iheanacho has already overcome much to achieve what he has done so far - something he puts down stubborness.

“It’s really hard over there in my country, it’s really hard in Africa,” he said.

“I started playing football when I was a kid. I love football but things that aren’t footballs, I played with as well. Even if I was walking in the road, I’d play with stones because I love football.

“My parents didn’t want be to play football, they wanted me to go to school and study my books but I was so stubborn.

“I represented my state and then Nigeria Under-15 and under-18s, then we represented Nigeria at the Under-17 World Cup. I couldn’t believe that. The head coach came he gave me confidence to play so I started playing and playing well.

“That’s how I started and my father is proud of me now. Everywhere he goes they just point at him and say look at Kelechi’s father.”

Anyway, I'm glad to know the fans "truly" believe in Nacho. Nacho will surely play "an interesting role" against Man City's Rival neighbors BUT I fear Pellegrini may still go for Bony from the start irrespective of what the fans say.

But all in all, Either from the start or from the bench, Nacho has a "role" to play against Man Utd.

I think victor has developed apathy for the National team by repeatedly failling to honor the recent call-ups. he is now a mudslinger to his own staunching disposition and reputation with his indifferent mindset.

I am greatful we now have other stupendous replacement for him. No one can care about his absenteeism anymore.

I think the 'role' that he will play is to train with other comrade players before the inception of the match, and help motivate team from bench against Man Utd grin

I don't think he will be allowed to feature in that match.
