Dark tower 6: Song of susannah by stephen king.
The qualtiy of this series has been on a decline midway through the fifth book.
Only curiosity is keeping me going at this point.

THE DARK TOWER book VII by stephen king.

EDIT: Totally worth it.

It's a book that chronicles humanity's scientific achievements right from prehistoric times up to the modern era. It's not a drab historical account at all as it is written in a fun and interesting manner and reveals some fascinating facts of many of the great names in science. A fun and interesting read.

I saw it recommended on Fareed Zakaria's GPS show on CNN as the book of the week. That's where I get many of reading recommendations from.

Is the Al qaeda book fiction or is it a personal account?
I'd recommend Heroes Die by Matthew Stover. It's from the Acts of Caine series, similar to Red Rising cos of the protagonist is a fountain of violence and they both have huge egos.
Reading The Cold Commands by Rochard Morgan, page 263. 2nd in the series, good book but not as great as the 1st, The Steel Remains. Some heavy LGBT action and the plot strays too far from the interesting characters and focuses on the dull ones. Apart from those criticism, fully recommended

I have read the first two Caine novels, big fan.
Tried the richard morgan series but the gay stuff put me off am not yet ready for that in fantasy just yet.

The looming tower is non fiction, just the authors take on how islamic extremist started leading up to 9/11.

Good to hear. You tried Joe Aberctombie's stuff, The Heroes esp. Dresden stuff is good too from Jim Butcher. Fantasy reading has been slow lately, more scifi stuff now. Keep hearing good things about Ken Liu's Grace of Kings, they say it's not your average fantasy tale which sounds promising. For sci-fi, Ready Player One and Armada if you like campy space stuff, Wilful Children for funny, Snow Crash and REAMDE for indepth sci-fi.
Richard Morgan's stuff is heavy mehn. I was warned but thought it was light, passing reference and all, but i almost quit too, had to skip scenes. Good thing is his story makes up for it though The Cold Commands is beginning to drag

I see a couple of people reading Malcom Gladwell's Outliers. Nice. That was my first Gladwell book and I enjoyed it thoroughly, he is such an insightful writer. I wonder when he'll publish another work.
