Panzerfaust:
Oga Bidexii..Nice thread..I have some questions though, and ill really appreciate it if you can attend to them.
1. Is the army taking any steps to standardize uniforms?
2. Any news on the planned acquistions of 4th Gen. fighters for the NAF?
3. Why has the N.A refused to release any combat videos?
4. What is the current state of the NAF's L-39 jets? Are they taking part in the current CT-COIN campaign?
5. Any news on the status of Sirusblack? Is he still alive?
Anticipating your response. Thank you.

1; for now I don't think the NA or armed forces has time for standardization, cos right now the focus is on crushing and ending BH for now. It's when BH is silenced then they can start talking of standardization of uniforms, eguipment and hardware. But I can assure you they are working towards that. Then the federal government has to do is own part by supporting them financially and other support.

2; people.are tired of rumours but I can assure that the NAF is acquiring 4th generational jet. But I can only say on two jets " CAC/PAC JF 17 and SU Frogfoot . But let's keep our fingers crossed!

3;on your 3rd question I can't really say the reason for that?

4;Nop the NAF L-39 are not per-taking in CTCION ; only the alphas and j7. They are used for training airforce personnels.

5;sirusblack is still alive. And his still active in fight.

KDF kills 15 suspected al Shabaab militants in operation to capture Jilib town in Somalia

KDF spokesman Col David Obonyo said the troops struck Sunday morning and killed the 15 before recovering two boats that they were using to cross the river. Obonyo said the terrorists were trying to cross Jubba River when they were attacked. “The two boats they have been using to cross river Juba were also destroyed. There was no casualty on the KDF side,” said Obonyo. He added Yantooy is strategically situated across river Jubba and has been the main base the terrorist use to cross the river from Jilib and infiltrate into lower Jubba. The attack, he added is part of the ongoing Operations 'Jubba Corridor' and these are shaping operations to prepare for the capture of Jilib the remaining Al Shabaab headquarters in lower Shabelle. The troops who are under the Africa Union Mission in Somalia (Amisom) have captured several towns that were under the terror group as part of efforts to liberate the country.

Boko Haram Controls 2 Local Councils In Borno, Shettima Reveals

Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima, has revealed that Boko Haram militants are occupying two local governments in his state, contrary to the impression that the militants are not in control of any Nigerian territory.

The local councils under effective boko Haram occupation are Abbadam and Mobar.

Indeed, Shettima, in his shocking revelation, said the militants are also in partial control of a third local council, Marte.

The governor made the shocking disclosure at the weekend while briefing a visiting Federal Government delegation led by Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Mr. Babachir David Lawal.
Shettima said: “They(Boko Haram) are at present controlling two local governments in Borno State; Abadam and Mobbar and they are partially in Marte.”

He added: ”At some point, Boko Haram overran 20 out of our 27 local government areas in Borno State. They overran four local government areas in Adamawa and two in Yobe.”
Lt. Gen Buratai, the chief of army staff has disputed Shettima’s claim.

“No Boko Haram is holding any territory in Nigeria at the momment, I have not heard any Boko Haram member or leader making such claim, they are no more in control,”, Buratai told reporters in Jos yesterday after addressing troops at the Headquarters of 3 Division, the Marxwel Khobe Cantonment.

“We are more determined and we have more professional soldiers on the ground, we have been trained and equipped and ready to face the challenge, if any, posed by Boko Haram”, he added.

He also reiterated that the military would keep faith with the December deadline given by President Muhammadu Buhari to root out Boko Haram: “I can confidently say we are on course, we are mindful of our target, and we know we have two months to achieve that target. We don’t have doubt in our minds, we will achieve our target by December 31.”

Governor Shettima had once incurred the wrath of the military and former President Goodluck Jonathan when he said the Nigerian military was ill-equipped to fight the Boko Haram insurgents. He was abused in return.

But months after, top military brass admitted he was correct. grin

Nigerian Army establishes Task Force Brigade to end Boko Haram

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, on Monday said that the new 29 Task Force Brigade in Beneshiek, Borno, was strategically established to end insurgency.
Mr. Buratai made the remarks while addressing soldiers deployed to the new brigade in Beneshiek and Ngamdu.
“This location is very important and strategic, it has great impact toward defeating the Boko Haram group.
“You are better trained and equipped than the criminals and you have to be professional and responsive.
“You should have no excuse not to be on patrol, ambush or raid operations,” he said.
The army chief assured the troops that the government would provide them with all the necessary kits and equipment to facilitate their success to end insurgency.
“We have to maintain the momentum to achieve Mr President’s deadline.
“We must eradicate insurgency and make Nigeria peaceful,” he said.
Mr. Buratai charged the soldiers to apply tactics, battle procedure and fire discipline.
“Be on the alert, observe routines, be disciplined and loyal to your officers,” he counselled them.
He assured the civilian population that the army would maintain high standard of professionalism in the course of its duties.

Nigerian Army Publishes Images Of 100 Most Wanted Boko Haram Fighters

Unrelenting in its quest to conquer the dreaded Boko Haram insurgents before the deadline set by President Muhammadu Buhari, the Nigerian Army has on Wednesday released an image of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Tukur Buratai alongside some other officers, brandishing a banner in which the faces of the wanted terrorists were displayed, including the supposed leader of the insurgents, Abubakar Shekau.

The photo posters were launched as part of the counter terrorism material packaged by the Directorate of Army Public Relations.

The army chief launched the posters shortly after delivering a paper titled ‘Contemporary Warfare, War Reporting and Dilemma of Military Leadership’ at the three day 2015 DAPR Study Period that ended today.

Buratai further disclosed that President Buhari’s deadline to end Boko Haram was not directed at the military alone, but to all Nigerians.

If seen the Army urged Nigerians to call the following hotlines: 08181555888, 08160030300, 07053333123

About the most wanted boko haram terrorists. Do they have a way of publicly disseminating to the especially NE citizens? (Drop leaflets from helicopters, display in idp camps, pass around northern motor parks, display in market places, etc)

Also can they publish if they haven't on a website page with names, pictures and probable nom de guerre of the terrorists? Ascribe incentives to information leading to the capture or death of any of these vermins.

yea so everyone can know who we are looking for. @Blackbaron do you want to become a head hunter for incentives? Just kidding though. The army need to make this declared wanted terrorist public. All local police stations need to have a copy of that banner. Either in the NE or not. It is with that kind of seriousness that we can win this fight.

Lol. Well it figures that the high unemployment rate especially in the NE might motivate some to actively seek to remember and recollect about spotting, the whereabouts or known location of terrorists.

More than just mere hanging out on the walls at Army HQ, let them aggressively push out for their capture or death via every possible means. Heck, even post out on social media. A twitter user on a farm might be the one that might even spot the deranged bastard called Shequack.

- every " internally displaced people" camps should be bombarded with flyers and posters because they once know most of these BH militants or they've being attacked by them, they might give one or two information on how to track them.
- then local vigilante groups should be informed and place bounties and promise rewards should be full filled. cool

Recently, Nigeria Army released a video showing the bombardment of Boko Haram terrorist in Sambisa forest. But there is something striking about that video aside from the fact that it only showed them running with no sign of Nigeria Air force raining hell on them. The video bears a lot similarities with a video release like five months ago.

remember a team of marines experience with some British head hunter's in Iraq in a movie called "Hurt locker" While facing fire from hostile forces entrenched in an uncompleted train house. The prisoners of the head hunter's tried to escape. The chief head hunter at first at a lose for what to do, sprayed the fleeing prisoners with Rounds from his AK47 rifle and said "I forgot it's 500,000 dead or alive" And he went back to engaging the hostiles in front.

Let's place juicy sums on the head of those bastards that would turn every JTF member or local hunter into dangerous Head hunters. But unfortunately sha. Those guys may be chilling out in a populated west African commercial city. That's why local law enforcement agencies have to be notified all around Nations within the west African anti terror coalition.

The confusion is from the station that aired the news. They ordinarily should have indicated that the video they are showing isn't recent.

It calls into question our work ethics and the general lack of professionalism amongst the main-stream media in Nigeria.

Two things you've brought to our notice ; first similarities in both videos and secondly the video only shows figures running up and down, no sign of bomberment has the airforce claims!.

First video to me are the same thing ; one is like black and white while the other his in grey mixed with different colours. And then look closely the position of vehicles and road traces are in the same position.

Secondly there is fault in the news agencies broadcasting such news; it might just be a UAV area view of Sambisa forest of people running around at the sound of the NAF aircraft, running for there lives they might even be helpless citizens . Channel news TV might think think it's an ariel bomberment. Afterall I've watched an NTA news when an NAF helicopter crashed and they called it a jet it was so so funny grin

BOKO HARAM: NAF CONDUCT 1448 SORTIES IN FOUR MONTHS; DEPLOY 300 SPECIAL FORCES COMMANDOS

WorldStage Newsonline

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) said it had between July and October 2015 conducted a total of 1448 air sorties in support of the ongoing counterinsurgency operation in the northeast and also deployed over 300 ground troops from its special forces to fight along with the Army in the field.

The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Abubakar disclosed this on Wednesday when he received in audience officials of the Centre for Crisis Communication (CCC) led by the Executive Director, Air Commodore Yusuf Anas (Rtd) who paid him courtesy visit in his office.

The Air Force, he said, is doing everything possible to see how peace can be restored in the troubled areas as soon as possible. According to him, the air component is fully integrated in the counterinsurgency operation plans and as such, NAF is using different aircrafts in its arsenal including F-7NI, Alpha Jet, C-130 AC, Agusta 109 LUH, Mi-35, Mi-24, Mi-17, Super Puma Helicopters, among others to carry out logistics support, reconnaissance and combat operations.

“Where ever the army is going in the battlefield, we give them the air support, provide intelligence and clear the ground for them to operate optimally. There are challenges no doubt but God willing, we will meet the expectations of the people and the deadline given by the Commander-in-Chief as the government is giving us necessary support and encouragement”, he stated.

Air Marshal Abubakar expressed his appreciation to the Centre for Crisis Communication for the important job they are doing in trying to streamline and harmonize crisis information in the country for effectiveness noting that information management is critical to success or otherwise of military operations especially the counter insurgency operation embarked upon by the Nigerian Armed Forces.

“If you manage information well, you kill the morale of the enemies,” he opined. He disclosed further that NAF has embarked on a number of quick impact projects in the north east aimed at winning the hearts and minds of the people. In this regard, it has provided medical facilities including clinics, medical laboratories, medical wards and drugs. It has sunk boreholes, provided 50,000 liters overhead tanks, constructed toilet facilities and shelters for internally displaced persons in the north east.

Earlier, the Executive Secretary of the Centre for Crisis Communication, Air Commodore Yusuf Anas (rtd) briefed the Chief of Air Staff on the mandates of the Centre and congratulated NAF for the good work it is doing in the north east while condoling it on the death of a number of its officers in a couple air crashes in the course of the operations. He assured the CAS of the Centre’s willingness to partner its information department to bring to public knowledge the various efforts and sacrifices of the Nigerian Air Force.
