I was OPPORTUNED to be a 30 minutes boss over our driver when We were driving home from the bank where our boss sent us on errand to deposit some Moines in his bank account. Go- slow slow I said to him as I spot this beautiful lady walking by. I'm on my way to a friend's WAKE-KEEPING of her late dad she replied when asked where she was going. As a fast guy I brought out my blackberry porch SCREENTOUCH PHONE I bought on INSTALMENTALLY term from a friend to collect her mobile number. I always laugh at threads like this where the op feels the invention of words by Nigerians should not see the light of the day perhaps because it is Nigerian? And nothing good can come from us?

Yet the Hot boys(Lil Wayne,Birdman,Juvenile and co) can invent bling bling, southafricans can invent kraal from their dutch/"boerish" tongue and other word inventions that are been added to the English lexicons frequently (especially the techies own!!!) But Nigerians cannot invent theirs?

What is the meaning of dab?the expression itself is what I do when I sneeze yet some no chains/migos peeps can turn it to a lingo that would soon be accepted in the English lexicon?

grin grin grin grin

This is cool; I had never heard of these Nigerian words, with the exception of "opportuned" - I've seen that on the internet.

Every country has its regional linguistic variations. In the Western world, we all know about the differences between American and Australian English, but we don't often get to hear how English is spoken in non-Western places.

Is there much influence of native Nigerian words on Nigerian English?
