Thanks @Portsmouth86...
I'm still waiting for mail or message from the embassy to go get my refusal and haven't heard notin yet. On the Tls tracking page still displays " sent to ukvi Sheffield " even tho I've got the mail saying decision has been made...

Is it advisable to visit there office to check if my passport is with them cuz it's suppose to take 3-5 working days?

Hi everyone , please based on your observations what is the average processing times for visit visa applications submitted in VI Lagos and processed in Sheffield ? I tried looking up the Average processing times on UKVI website however it has not been updated of recent . Would be glad if fellow recent applicants on nairaland can let me know how long theirs took as TLS doesn't seem to be updating their tracking page ... Thanks

Hi everyone. I apologise in advance if my question may have been flogged before. however, this is a bit urgent so kindly respond if you have useful info.
my mom is scheduled to submit her biometrics and documentation for her uk visa renewal tomorrow. last time she did this was with vfs, same for me. so this teleperformance is a bit strange. however, i just noticed today that proxy collection of passports/documents are no longer applicable.
i need to know if i MUST pay for the return courier online or if payments can be done at the VAC. i also need to know what address the return courier would be sent to. I attempted adding the courier service on the tlscontact site and it went straight to payment. no option for delivery address.

I hail all my bosses on here ooo, been a quiet reader all these while cos i've got no case to present, but would need ur attention on my friends issue.

His mother remarried another man after the demise of my friend's father and she relocated to the UK in 1986 and today she's also a british Citizen by marriage.

Being the First Son, My friend's mum wants him to visit the UK during his annual leave therefore I advised him to request for the following docs -
1. Invitation letter and her ppt biodata page
2.Her bank staty and payslip
3. Utility bill
4 letter from her work place
5. His father's death certificate

But would like to know if my friends step father needs to write any letter to show that he is aware of his wife's intention to invite his son since they are still together?

Thanks

Your application will be refused if you lodge funds in your account prior to your visa application. It is also very important to know that a visa cannot be granted if a visa office is not satisfied with your employment, financial circumstances and earnings.

Thank you
There are no hidden stories about my account. There's just not been a lot of money in it (for a trip) simply because I am being owed some months' salaries. My payslip from work and my bank statement attest to that fact..
Now, my cousin is sponsoring me for this trip by supplying the money needed and he intends to transfer it into my account.
I understand I need to show I can afford the trip by my bank balance.
Do I need a letter from him for the ECO explaining this?

I intend to explain all that.
Is there a place on the application to explain my earnings and all that?

There is no better location.

You decide....

Most application in VI go to Sheffield and max 2 weeks you should get a decision on your application while most application at Ikeja where you pay an extra fee of N18,000 go to BDHC and you MIGHT get a decision on your application in a week

REFUSAL STATEMENT
I note that you have previously traveled to the United Kingdom, and with you earlier application provided full details to satisfy the Entry Clearance Officer at that time that you had met the requirements of the immigration rules as a visitor: however each case must be decided on its individual merits at the time of application. On your previous application for a visitor visa, you stated on your application form that you intended to travel to the UK for 3 weeks. During your visit to the UK you stayed for a total of 22 weeks, approximately 19 weeks longer than you had indicated in your application. Your personal and financial circumstances were considered sufficient to support a visit of 3 weeks. In assessing this application I have taken into account the extended duration of this visit and your current personal and financial circumstances. You have stated on your application that you are traveling to the UK for a period of two weeks for a holiday. You have stated that you are employed in Nigeria by …. Hospital With a total monthly income of 400 pounds. You have stated the personal cost to yourself of your proposed visit to the UK is 1900 pounds.
In support of your application you have submitted a letter from your employer, payslips and bank statements in your own name. I note from the letter submitted from ….. hospital that you are employed on a short term basis for the period 02/12/13- 31/1/14 on a salary of 100000 (377.36 WWW.OANDA.COM 09/01/14) per month. You have not indicated that any further employment opportunities are available to you after 31/1/14 and I note you have stated that you hold no assets, savings or investments in Nigeria or elsewhere. Given that prior to your proposed holiday your employment will cease, I am not satisfied that it is credible that you would make a financial outlay of 1900 pounds, the equivalent of over 5months of your current salary, on a two week tourist visit to the Uk when you have no savings, assets or income to return to in your country of residence.
I am also not satisfied that the transaction history in the bank statement you have submitted corroborates the statements made on your application form. I note that whilst your salary is regularly credited to the account, the balance of this account has been significantly inflated by a large deposit of 500,000 (1886.84) paid into the account the week prior to your application. This is indicative of an account being artificially inflated for the purposes of obtaining an entry clearance. You have not provided any evidence as to the origin of this recent deposit and I note you have not declared receiving any further income other than your salary. In the absence of evidence of the origin of these funds and the discrepancies on your statement I am not satisfied that these funds are genuinely available for your use or that your financial circumstances are as stated.
I note that you have stated that you are single and you have not indicated having any dependents resident with you in Nigeria. In the absence of evidence of any assets or savings you may have or employment to return to in Nigeria. I am not satisfied that you have demonstrated sufficient social, family or economic ties to Nigeria. I am not satisfied that you have established that the reasons or intentions for this visit are as claimed. On the evidence before me on the balance of probabilities, I am not satisfied that you are genuinely seeking entry as a visitor for a limited period as stated by you, not exceeding 6months,nor am I satisfied that you intend to leave the united kingdom at the end of the period of the visit as stated by you. 41(i)(ii)
I have therefore refused your application because I am not satisfied, on the balance of probabilities that you meet all of the requirements of the relevant paragraph of the United Kingdom immigration rules.
Your right of appeal is limited to the grounds referred to in section 84(1)(c) of the nationality, immigration and asylum act 2002.

PLEASE ADVICE! HOW DO I RESPOND TO THIS REASONS IN MY FRESH APPLICATION

Yes, write a letter to the ECO and also include a verifiable prove as to source of the said funds eg receipts, invoices etc.
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by ifyalways(f): 7:23am On Feb 09, 2016
@westindiandoc, your denial letter/ reasons were pretty much straight forward.

You earn 100K per month, your vacation shouldn't cost you more than a max of 3 months salary so you'd either gun for a higher paying job or find a way to work on your vacation cost.

Why did you spend 22 weeks as opposed 2 on your previous visa? If you have a valid reason eg medical, you can write a letter to the ECO with hospital receipts to explain that.
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by vcole: 8:55am On Feb 09, 2016
Thanks. did that already yesterday. was concerned because the tls page did not give an option to fill a delivery address. anyway she's turning in the application at the vac today so i hope they request for an address to be filled.
update: they give the option for providing a delivery address for the return courier at the point of submission. this is for ikeja VAC.
