Just breezed in to drop some info about the new Manuel Bastioni 3D Humanoid aka ManuelLab. Its just like MakeHuman but as a direct addon for Blender. With it you can automatically generate rigged human forms and set various parameters for body forms

What is happening there? It looks like the core to some time portal...

Reminds me of Brian Lumley books especially The Wamphyri series ,

will you have gaseous swirls churning inside the core? will be beautiful indeed.....ha, imagine electric vortices, plasma sparks and then suddenly a creature teleported dfrom One of Jupiters moons to Earth...

Icarus baby...ICArus.hahahahahahhohoho....Evil Overkill.

A N-ude asleep and disturbed by an Eagle coming up...

I revamped my bird, scraped all the hairs and retextured, the claws had a makeover....My computer creaks, she's tired these days....I fear for her health. blame the cloth sims.

I ve not modelled since this year...just rigging my eyes out and shading till ash.
...Currently rendering
Will Concentrate on Animation this first quarter....and Rigging.

...still can't fold the birds wing or rig a snake properly.

OK sir @Kazuna..but I have a lot ohh.

let me proceed...arts ranging from the traditional way to the modern and digital as we have it to day is always evolving. Though art is all about self expression, that should not give it lack of aesthetic. Aesthetic is Beauty. Beauty is always one of the reasons people, mostly non art lovers appreciate artworks .
Aesthetic, is what your work lacks the most. The creativity is there but that appealing part of a piece of artwork which is ignited by its beauty is not felt.
Blender is a very very powerful 3d tool. As powerful as it is, it's efficacy can only be exercised, rekindled and of course put to use efficiently by the user. You are efficient with Blender3d software but you don't use it to achieve the best of it.
Cycles render, to the best of my knowledge surfaced as a result of the developers believe that Blender can do more than its previous version and release and still compete with other 3d softwares out there. Believe me, I totally understand your love for Blender internal, but no matter what you do with it, it can't give you the best of Blender.
I want you to see this as a call to switch to cycles render .Due to my love for Blender, I am opportune to have known some Nigeria Blender users outside NL and their works are so amazing. They inspire me a lot because with there works I am able to see what I can achieve with Blender and cycles render.
Speaking on the decals you have posted, I have actually waited for its arrival. I needed to see more to what I have seen herein. At this point in time every art one is creating should be able to tell a story and that can be achieved in a well rendered and composited work. On that your bird and a man image, it needs more work not to mention the water simulation. the water sim is not lively, Lacks focus, poor in composition, lights not used well and all this enhance beauty in any work not minding the person's style (photorealistic or abstract ).
You need to move forward...cos Blender has moved and is still moving. #NO PROFESSIONAL BLENDER USER RENDERS WITH INTERNAL THEY USE CYCLES OR ONE HIGHER THAN IT
correct me if am wrong. Aspire to produce a work that will be near professional level. Use addons, both free and paid(if you can afford it ), like and follow pages on fb that talk about blender3d and cg arts. make friends with Nigeria cg artist on FB you will see most of their works there.
No matter how UGLY a work of art is, there is always... I mean ALWAYS beauty in ugliness. so let's not forget the aesthetic part of art because that is why people love and cherish artworks not minding the look of it.
I hope to begin seeing your works rendered in cycles . I will never forget to reiterate that you are among those that inspired and pushed me into making Blender my loved 3d software.
Thanks, compassionately written, no offence meant.

Ok, You didnt thrust hard enough....

Me and Blender internal had a blood bond, trying to breaking away.

Secondly, the sim is purely Akamu.....too much time on my hands, haha. you know na i cant do environs.....excuse number one.

I will try Cycles like you said but for someone focused more on animation and on an 8GB Ram laptop how long will you stay for ur animation to finish rendering in cycles?

What chances are, that in ur attempt to kill fireflies, ur system wont overheat and pop!

Ok How do you kill fireflies in cycles, what are ur render times per frame at a mere resolution of 640 x 480 with a pixel sample of 6?

Help me on this...

don't direct me to Andrew price, I have tried his method with cycles and it still not resolved ( Besides he uses a 16G Workstation and not a laptop) I would want ur solution ( assuming you are also using a laptop, which i somehow think you do)

How do i reduce render time ( 5mins is ok per frame, i dont mind) and Kill those fireflies...

again in the man and eagle what areas do i need to redress apart from the rendering engine used?

Is it withe modelling? I have revamped that bird a thousand and 66 times anyway....

BE BLUNT in ur critique.... I survive that way.
Re: 3D ENTHUSIAST ZONE: Blender 3d For The Novice Of The Highest Order! by Tos87(m): 10:16pm On Feb 19, 2016
seriously you have to break that bond. you can't be doing same stuff always and expects different result.
"i can't do environs" is more like cliche to me right now.Aside environs, there are other ways one can express oneself via cg art. However, i do know there are areas you fancy and want to devote your time and effort into but you should ask yourself how well you have really fared in those areas. OK, you said is animations. What are you , DREAMWORKS wanna be. common bro, you of all people should know better. Na NIJA we dey ohhh, and what ever we do must reflect towards it. Listen to me...what you should be craving for is selling point, awareness and setting a standard.Animation is not about modelling some characters, rig them and make them perform a short movie but it ranges from making a default cube move, making a sphere bounce,a bird fly to its nest,a character taking a walk, to the complex part that you can imagine.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2sum4fZW1s

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSpow_VCl2s
check out this videos, this video is to tell you what any good animation should look like, the length isn't the problem but the quality. it can be 15sec,but awesome and shocked shocked shocked cool .
You use 8gig...awesome too,...am battling with Pentium Intel of 4gig ram, just for the record. ;Dlol,..you mentioned Andrew. grin cheesy Andrew is one of my great blender mentors and i can remember he always mention about fireflies and how to get rid of it. It has being working for me if i must let you know. Listen, what cause fireflies in cycles is
(1) the value of your light or your light source
(2) low sample
And you can get rid of it by checking the clamp box and making sure that you don't have excess light source with huge values. Then you can always increase your samples. some times when i want to get the best render in cycles, i do it over night. search for blender guru bonus packages like nature academy free pack, architecture free packs, even his pro lighting skies demo...you wont regret it. i do know that your failure to kill fire flies in cycles is because you haven't ventured proper in it.
Pixel sample of 6 ...you kiddingcheesy anyways, i haven't done more of animations. but the last i did, i used 250samples. If i am to do any now i will use more than that as long as i get the best result. Frozen by dearmworks, if only you can imagine how long it took to render the whole movie just to reach that quality not to mention the techs they are using. So, quality animation deserves quality render period for quality result.
For the man, you need to work more on the human anatomy.i don't know if you sculpt with mouse or tablet,...but tab is easy to maneuver. The bird is ok for me.
I know you can do much better with cycles...give it your time and practice, you will come to love it.

hmm, @Shimish wish you'd pop in.
will like your view on this...

Anyone who'd done animation should also share his workflow abeg...

I tried cycles with what you'd said Tos87, it won't work....Cycles its best for Stills....I can't just cook a frame all nite.

...there are still 630 frames more.

That isn't my work... I decided to share a blender Artist work. One of my blender3d artist friend on FB. I knew when he announced the completion of the project and the commencement of rendering. Which he did in cycles and he just published it.
These I believe will go a long way into making some of us to foster courage and determination.
He just announced that he will make it into series.
