huh..funny enough the fulani settlement is directly behind the new boiz hostel...i rmba dem days we use to go and peep the ladies bathing ...hahhahhah we climb our cars and watch sometimes even go to them and buy wara(fresh cheese)and kunu...doze people can trek from okada to ore everyday and back just to sell..but their settlement looks scary tho..

You have to understand that these clashes are caused by population growth and environmental/climate change, which requires a new approach amongst those herdsmen and indeed farmers. Its clearly a growing threat to peace and security and has no easy solutions.

In the first instance the climate of Nigeria makes for prolonged rainfall in the south, far longer rainfall than in the north. Our livestock have been cultured to feed on fresh vegetation so the herdsmen have to move down south as the harmattan bites harder in the north and move back up again when it becomes too wet in the south (cattle are diseasae vulnerable to excessive moisture/rainfall).

What antagonists say is this. Dry season agriculture takes place in the north through irrigation. Why can't these cattle feed on those farms. Why are the left to feed on produce about to be harvested in the south at the end of the rainy season or on the new plant shoots at the beginning of the planting season. Why are farms in the north largely spared when they have much more arable/fallow land and population density is far less.

The persistent fightings between herdsmen vs farmers across the country would one day turn to large scale all out fight.

The clueless apc government is still not doing anything tangible about the never ending fights.

I understand your sentiment, an average fulani looks fragile, peaceful and innocent. But make no mistake, they are ruthless with their dagger and knives. They show no mercy, i have witnessed it first hand.
