He did not claim Yoruba. There is a big chasm between ''Yoruba'' and ''Lagosian''
I'm more of nairalander than a Ghanaian..

Please tell me the chasm between that.

I guess because all countries of the world use nairaland means it doesn't belong majorly to Nigerians or I'm indirectly claiming nigerian.

nigger, know your history .

That's not Igbo attire.

That's buba and sokoto with red cap. It was copied from Yoruba attire.

Ibo mostly tie wrapper, wear chicken feather or beads, those are cultural Igbo atires before they start migrating and mixing with real people. Stealing their culture and attire and rebranding it to make it look like theirs.

You are shameless, you and your minister, don't generalize it. Where you stay shoudn't be who you are. I stayed in the North for 18 solid years it doesn't make me a hausa man or more of a hausa man than igbo.#ProudlyIgbo#4Life

Although it's a pity our minister had to bring up tribal talks in such fashion.

Like if you agree with me.

If he continues 'working', I'd get his back as governor of any state he so desires!

I agree with you. She is claiming to be a pro igbo warrior on nairaland and yet is bragging about wearing a Yoruba attire like a sort of achievement.
Height of confusion.
I am igbo and I wouldn't be caught dead wearing a Yoruba attire. For what na?
When I am not mad or suffering from cultural confusion or inferiority.

But you wear suit, shirts and trousers. Is that not cultural confusion, inferiority complex and a height of hypocrisy? Just asking though.

They're already claiming that Yoruba words like 'Omo', 'Yeye' , 'kuku' and 'wahala' are Igbo words.
you are not appreciative. Since Igbos adopted these words, they have become more popular than Awolowo just like we took okoro from edo and made it a household name.. We make things popular. You should appreciate us for that.

go school you know go go, this is the result.

You cannot differentiate between born in or the original root of someone. Anthony Joshua was born in united kingdom, does that mean he is British by root?

Donjazzy was born in abia but is root is Isoko.. Go back to same wikipedia you got your info from and see what they wrote there before you feed your fellow illiterate wrong information.

I visited Enugu in Igboland and the city is fine, most of them brag about staying in Lagos Yoruba Land but they hate the yoruba who is hosting them in Lagos Yoruba Land, if you go to Port Harcourt,Ijaw Land you will see them shouting Our land!! Our land!! Our Land, everything is done and shared by them
, I wonder why none of them is claiming zungeru or Calabar which are the first capital cities in Nigeria, why Lagos , Yorubaland? Why not Abuja the present FCT?

Well, we will teach your kids Yoruba in our schools, when we finally have The Great Odua nation, our official Language will be YORUBA, so start teaching kids Yoruba culture

Ibos who grew up outside igbo land don't have the primitive mentality of those who grew up in what is a largely homogeneous, uncosmopolitan and unexposed region. Those who grew up outside igbo land tend to see themselves as Nigerians 1st. It's a question of exposure......it's that simple!!

Senate wears? Lol
When you're adorned in beautiful and graceful Yoruba attire, you felt more powerful. When you speak Yoruba, it feels like you're walking on water, miraculous. When you move to Lagos to live amidst Yoruba people, you feel like your dream came true.

This is what Ibo youth feels when they flex in our SWAGGALICIOUS attires.

So don't feel bad, don't feel like you're betraying your tribe that likes to wear curtains with primary school animal cartoons drawn on it.

OP, wetin concern Yoruba concern not wanting Delta Igbos to identify with their kinsmen again? You guys are always looking for what isn't there. That's like saying the Yorubas in Kwara, Kogi or Benin Republic should deny their Yoruba-ness on the ground that the geo-political space in which they are domiciled is different from that of the majority of their kins.

This made me remember a crises in a CDA(community development association) meeting somewhere on lagos, where some pple insisted on speaking yoruba only and others started using their language to respond too. D chairman has to bury his tail in his ass by reverting to English n members can use any language they deem fit. Lagosian is an expression just like pitakwa,waffarian,b-side,Jos and Kay town. U dnt need to b a particular tribe to b a lagosian. D only indigenous pple of Lagos are aworis, ijebus n egun. An ibadan man, nupe n Owerri man has equal rights to claim lagosians, that Provincial mentality of u welcomed me coz u are a gud host is all b.llsh.it. D last time I checked I paid 15million for that piece of land, y u nor dash me?. If na ur papa get am? Come n take it!
