Was considering getting a new engine at 250k so I can have peace of mind. My mech suggested it's fixable that I shouldn't spend that much. Came up with the quotes below:

Oil pump: 45k
Crankshaft: 75k
Oil filters: 8k
Roughly 150k for repairs.

Replacing the above will eliminate and return the engine to the best sound that's what he claims.
gurus I need your advise? The engine doesn't smoke or short oil. What's the best choice.

Run a diagnostic scan on the car to obtain objective clues.

For instance, a faulty knock sensor may be responsible, and replacing it should solve the problem.

I have already scanned the car. Knock sensor is ok. No engine specific error apart from engine coolant temp p0428 or so. It rattles heavily when accelerating. Its mechanical.

Is it safe to replace crankshaft or new engine?

I was called by this client earlier today to change his transmission ATF, I told him the price of Honda DW-1 ATF,my procedure for oil change and amount for labour. He felt the DW-1 is expensive and he won't be patient enough to allow for recommended ATF change procedure, he left to a Kazeem down the street who eventually bought this. Luckily I drove past there and discovered the operation going on.
