themall: So, they should join other media houses and peddle lies against them? They should commend NA for killing even innocent bystanders? These wasn't even a protest in the 1st day, it was a remembrance day for igbos all over the world. When u down play an injustice meetted on people in a way of subduing them, u are indirectly charging them the more, they will keep fighting for their voices to be heard. Since u are this observant on such events, I implore u to ask why US has been finding it hard to pull out of iraq. When u intimidate some people or kill them illegally, and term them criminals just to justify ur uncivilised act, u are only bringing out the anger and hate from the ones alive towards u. If all media houses in naija has been reporting all extra judicial killings by all our law enforcement agencies from time immemorial and our leaders tackling them, no protest in naija will ever be bloody, ain't there protests in US,UK, Germany, France etc? Has there been violence? Violence erupts when our law enforcement agencies think they have the right to abuse other people or even kill them and nothing will happen, why? because they know the media will always back them up or cover up for them all in the name of UNITY. But they are wrong. Let's assume, u killed my brother who is innocent and his only crime was a peaceful protest, and den, the man that pulled the trigger was allowed to go free, no apologies whatsoever, let me tell u, all member of my family will join such protest out of anger and lack of confidence on naija government. All over the world, force is never used on protesters unless they start rioting and once they start, u make use of rubber bullets and tear gas, while making use of ur shields to protect urself. And not firing live bullets in a crowd. My point is, stop down playing the events. If according to what u observed, WAZoBIA is even helping FG to placate the situation by equal reportage. They ain't being biased. U saw the case of shite muslims, if the media had came out to report what really happened, it would have brought uncomfort to the people @ the helm of affairs and something will be done immediately to avert it. Check also the case of fulani herdsmen, if the media had done their jobs with evidences, something would have been done earlier, PMB wouldn't have called them Libyans, because, he was lied to by media, how do u now think PMB will feel when some where arrested with video records of their atrocities and they are truly fulani's? What do u think PMB's initial statement will do to the families and communities where such atrocities were carried out? Of course they will loose confidence in the govt, why? because they will see it that the number 1 citizen is shielding those monsters because they were fulani's just like he is. U know what it has done to the peace of this nation? Majority has lost confidence in this government because of our utterances. If Nigeria wants to be better, they should allow the media to report whatever is the truth and stop twisting. If u are not comfortable with the events, u can change the situation of things by doing things right. WAZOBIA fm, is doing their job and their job is " reporting it as it happened". U don't favour anyone. U cannot build unity on lies and deciets. 4 Likes 1 Share |

LesbianBoy:Please tell me in 2016 who a full blooded Yoruba Man is. You sound like a horn! If the anchor behaves in the same way, what's the difference. If the rhetoric on radio incite the public to hatred and animosities how will you benefit? |

chigoizie7:Very, Very good. The regulated media should tell the truth. The media can assist in protecting our freedom and security. They have done that on many occasions when the authorities will attempt to cover an injustice or some inefficiency. I know of one radio station who investigated the rot in the police college in Lagos, where the training school was nothing to write about. But remember that not everyone wants the truth. Jesus died for the truth. I doubt if all agitators seek truth. Why would a radio station in Nigeria, enjoying Nigerian profit be entertaining hateful sentiments against all Nigerians? Why would any one radio become a vehicle for an anti Nigeria radio station that calls Nigeria a zoo and its president a terrorist? Will the current secessionist flavour stop the Fulani Herdsmen or will a more pragmatic approach help? Can Lawmakers from the SS and SE insist on stopping all the injustice by providing info for WAZOBIA? WAZOBIA FM and any other radio station behaving in such a way is clearly not doing its job. Some radio presenters think their opinion is fundamental. It is a misconception that cut across dozens of media houses. Your opinions might come back to hunt both you and your loved ones |

themall: Op there is nothin wrong in condemning unescessary killing and arresting on radio station. A lot of ppl don't support the biafra being igbo but for the fact that the president isn't saying something about his ppl killing ppl will make ppl condemning biafra agitation get angry over him. Ppl r free to talk and agitate but your own is to prove them wrong not kill them. |

ckmayoca:There is nothing wrong in exposing injustice. But if a radio station support the ideas if hate groups, secessionist groups and inflammatory sentiments fed in by supremacist ideas in a sovereign country, then that is bad. Please note that almost all igbos believe in Biafra. Those who don't are often berated. There's hatred everywhere. WAZOBIA ought to be guided by Nigeria media laws to a large extent. Sentiments is allowed, and no one should be ignorant. However can sentiments which rise to create hatred be allowed? 1 Like |

ckmayoca:OK. That should be a genuine endeavor. I am also. That's why I support Fayoses reaction on Fulani Herdsmen. But when the presenter allows callers who use incontinent words for Nigerian office holders (Hausa or Edoma or Efik or any other) consistently, only for him to hypocritically Chastise them after the call, sends a message that you are being sponsored... |

@ the mall. It appears you have a personal problem with the said wazobia presenter, if not your reasoning is absurd. Because they dont follow your sentiments, they should be 'smoked' out and killed. Haba! Such bigotry. You Op was quick to label a caller as iPOD. Did the caller introduce himself as such. How did u know? The caller said he was giving an eye- witness report. If you were there, call in and give your own report na. Stop spreading hate and making inciting comments on a faceless forum, if u have issues with the programme call in and air your views. Simple. |

OBAGADAFFI: Though I have not heard of such, but we all know how majority of Nigerians hate d truth. It's wrong to use any station to incite violence. Wish Niger deltans well and they will love u in return |

themall:You are a bloody hypocrite and I believe smoking them was the reason you opened this useless thread, so you can defame the Urhobo man. Do you know he might probably be a target especially when you consider how fragile and heated the country is right now? Why didn't you call out the anchor of that program who happens to be a yoruba? Re: Wazobia: Regulated Version Of Ipob Radio? by Nobody: 5:02pm On Jun 02, 2016 |
dimusky:Is your logic not upside down? You can't see the similarity of operation between some of WAZOBIA presenters and IPOB presenters. You can't even see the similarity between the callers on both platforms. Should all regulated radio stations be allowed to do the same? Why are you playing the ostrich? Why was OPJ distrustful of the FACT FILE presenter in PH when news broke that the DSS has arrested the PH presenter?! So whenever it suits people like you, we can be suspicious but whenever the truthful observation is made that doesn't fit your agenda then it is bigotry. Questions must not be asked except the REASONABLE questions made in WAZOBIA?! |

ElCount:See where bigotry is leading you and how dangerous people like u can be? Can even recognize their voices only looked on the internet for OPJs pic because he anchors the show as far as I know and heard on those times. So why must it be Yoruba vs Urhobo. See how degraded your reasoning is steeping into. Was the OPC not accusing Ray Power of dedicating a radio time for Hausa service some years back? Was it a good development? Not all Nigerians are sycophants. Only a person bereft of intelligence will call this thread useless? Radio is not social media. WAZOBIA is registered in Nigeria but IPOB is not. |

themall:Gerrahere! You are a bigger bigot than I'm so spare me the gibberish, and you also stink of hypocrisy. Why is it that anyone who observes an occurrence opposite to popular ideology is usually seen as an enemy e.g. Wole Soyinka, M. Ghafaffi of Libya. The answer to that question is intuitive |
Re: Wazobia: Regulated Version Of Ipob Radio? by ElCount: 5:37pm On Jun 02, 2016 |
themall:I was never pretending incase you didn't notice. I aint like you the supposed patriotic nigerian who sees nothing wrong with security agents killing innocent civilians of the country. ElCount:Very warped thinking. How can any sensible and mentally stable person read this post and the next conclusion is what you write in your post. Why aren't concerned with how to ensure innocent people on a parade or protest are NEVER again used as guinea pigs. WHY? Why is a registered Nigerian radio station in synchrony with IPOB radio?! Is WAZOBIA the only station speaking against injustice in Nigeria. HYPOCRITES. |

Re: Wazobia: Regulated Version Of Ipob Radio? by ElCount: 6:04pm On Jun 02, 2016 |
themall:So somehow I'm supposed to ensure that the NA are not Stupiid, bloodthirsty, and incompetent. This is coming from a sensible and mentally stable person like you. Now I know that you are crazier than I thought. So somehow I'm supposed to ensure that the army don't chase innocent civilians into the Church and spray their bullets on them like its nothing. For your info (not that it matters to you since you ve got no brains to reason), they were not even protesting, it was supposed to be an event where people gather in remembrance of the dead until the NA started arresting, harassing and killing people as early as 1AM 1 Like |
The Ibos and indeed all oil producing states should outgrow the "do it for us" mentality. The federal government didn't set up Lagos. Lagos is Lagos today because of the state's and her people's accommodating spirit towards foreigners (Local and Internationals). Ogun and Oyo too are following in that path, opening their door and arms to every John, dicck and Harry that cares to come. There is no reason to get threatened. Competition is good, the earlier the "oil producing" states recognize this, the better for them and Nigeria as a whole.[/quote Why didn't d government build Niger delta zone, when they were developing Abuja and Lagos? It's easy for govt to use federal might to force development than state governors. What u see happening now is just built up anger by d locals towards d govt. Some1 in power called southerners 5% |
