Dear All,

My wife and I were denied USA visa in May, but now she has applied alone for a B1/B2 visa. While I will apply later, Her interview date is early August and EDD is October. Here are my questions.
1. Can I go ahead and also apply prior to her own interview date , this is to enable me get a date early enough for my own interview
2. Hope the B1/B2 Visa she applied for wont be an issue since she is going for Birthing, some one says she should have applied for B2 VISA

Please I need an urgent advise

Sorry about your situation, God will ultimately restore your son's health in Jesus' name. Thank you very much for sharing your story because some mum's ultimately believe that nothing can ever go wrong with labour and delivery in US and UK. I remember when I was planing my trip, I spoke with someone I knew about good hospitals in US and even went ahead to tell her about the story of someone whose baby passed away here in Nigeria after her birth in US! Personally, I have heard of two ladies who died in UK as a result of childbirth. One was immediately after childbirth (She complained of a tight chest immediately after delivery but doctor did not investigate further) and the other was during childbirth -hospital had no anaesthetist available during her labour. This was not to scare her but to share what I heard with her.
She took offence and started asking me "so it was the doctors in US who killed the baby abi?". My point was to ask about good hospitals o, nothing like "bad belle" towards her or anything but she immediately started acting different.

Heaven forbid I become envious of someone because she had a baby in US when God has blessed me and mine such that I can also afford to give birth there if I choose! Doctors and even hospitals can be very negligent anywhere in the world and I mean it! Let's all pray that we and our babies will not become victims of negligence in Jesus' name and let's all take extra care when choosing hospitals and doctors.
I had to change hospital personally because of the reviews I got on this thread about the one I intended to use. God is the one who ultimately protects and thank you very much again for sharing your story.

Fabdevy:
Perhaps this isn't the proper thread but a friend advised that I should put it up here and perhaps I might get some pointers/help.Had my 1st baby in 2014 in the us (Atlanta) didn't know about nairaland then but I did tell at Poe that I was in the us to have my baby so it was uneventful - got in about 26weeks -got an obgyn, hosp,....and continued my anc. Had my baby at 38.2weeks birth weight was 2.35kg although my last scan at the Drs office puts it at 2.8kg but apparently scan weight could be +\-0.5kg. Anyway, fast forward 6wks after birth baby went on addmission for about a week cos of seizures and loads of tests was conducted-ct scan/Mri/different blood tests on baby/me-tests I cannot even pronounce all came back negative. Baby's seizures was controlled and he was placed on anti-seizures drug and we returned to Nigeria and he saw a paediatric neurologist asap for continuing care. Baby is almost 2 but his motor milestones is delayed and he was officially diagnosed as having cerebral palsy at 1. He's being getting therapy and the other management as needed here in Nigeria .
Anyway, I'm pregnant again due later in the year- left to me I have decided to stay quietly in Nigeria to have this baby cos I heard and saw 'hell' with our 1st child (it's an ongoing thing ) from you ate bananas/drank cold water/......while pregnant hence the reason why the baby had seizures to it was because baby was born abroad(winter time) and plenty things like that.
Anyway after much talk I have decided to have this baby in America again (my friend on nl said I was being morally irresponsible and selfish) same city but different dr and hospital. My new dr advised that I opt for a CS as after going through my previous medical history and report from my other dr and hosp she's unable to ascertain why the baby considering its size could not come out on its own and a forceps had to be used to aid delivery-she too don begin order and do tests/investigations. Also she said something about the size of my pelvic outlet considering my height-I'm about 5'4" or there about.

My main problem now is my husband wants to sue the dr/hosp more so in light of what the new dr said as per querying the use of a forceps......me I really don't know as I am doing everything humanly possible not to put additional stress on my body/mind. I explained the situation to my friend who's the nl guru and she's like ask here and give a summary of the situation- perhaps someone might have being in the same situation .....and how they went about it.

Thank you so much. I dont want refund i had peace of mind knowing that my hospital bill is done + it closer to where i stay. I had to ask for my refund from Dr F only for him to accept to deliver my LO in oakbend.

Please what do u think as i feel delivering LO is something i might be forcing him to do since he doesn't like oakbend?

Hello dear, just calm down ok. whether oakbend or st luke's or methodist, you will be fine. Also, just to point out to you that Dr F might not be there for your delivery so you don't get disappointed if you don't see him. The way the system runs is that if you fall into labour spontaneously, any doctor on call will take the delivery. You can only guarantee Dr F taking your delivery if you have a planned induction or scheduled CS with him. hope this helps with your decision making

Good morning all has anyone used parkview community hospital califonia this year. i got a quote: hospital $1650 for a day. $2450 for two days. Epidural $525(refunded if not used). induction $300. Dr Lee's fee $1700 which includes some test like ultrasound. Nigeria test accepted for early arrival.

Hello dear, nice research. Can't find the Dr Lee's name amongst their ob/gyn. Also, how did you get the quote?

Good morning mamas,
I have been reading through the thread and I have rily learnt alot. Thank you all for sharing all the wealthy informations.
Please I need some clarifications. I am still preparing my documents fr embassy, I intend to use Dr. F and I have written him and he replied wt the bills for his services and wen I asked if dt was what I needed for embassy as letter of medical responsibility, i was told yes. Please can someone assist in confirming if they have used this before.
Secondly he also sent bills for the hospitals he s affiliated to stating that the choice of hospital is mine to make, now when I decide on the hospital to use as he said do I need to write the hospital as well before going to the embassy? Do I need a letter from them as well?

I'm sure of United amd BA.
I tried Emirates too but theirs is specific for their cheap days to fly.
Every airline have specific cheap days to fly them. Emirates use to b Wednesday or so can't remember. United Monday. Lufthansa Monday amd Tuesday. Try to check prices for the full week u can get their cheap days.... For example let's say u put a date 6 weeks from today.. Check for the full week. Using a laptop will show u The full month sef. That way u know the cheap day specific to them. Then u can. U can chill for Tuesday by 3pm their time ( me I start from morning... Checking the moment I see a drop I just book. If I see another drop I book again * covers face.). Or u can also use websites like priceline, Skyscanner, cheapflights Travelocity etc ... These websites are bae... I had my first baby at oakbend... I enjoyed their services. But some people did and didn't. Mostly because their hands were full.

Relax be calm.
Talk to God and tell him what u want. For ur sake all the nurses will b alert and at ur service.
U are not forcing him.
At least the rush on oakbend has reduced so see it as an advantage.
Sweetie pray now so u don't pray tomorrow.
Commit this entire delivery, the Dr's and nurses Inshort all the health care providers into God's hand. Let the Holy Spirit be in charge of ur delivery.
I'm sure you will come and tell us how superb ur delivery went and how lovely and wonderful the health providers were.

Thank you so much. Sure i Will.

Thank you @firsttymum.

So the bills he sent me are sufficient for my embassy interview.

Please also does paying deposit on Dr's fee increase chances of being given visa?

Hi dear.
Am sorry about your baby and congrats on your new one on the way.
If hubby wants to go through the legal route I personally think it is a good idea given the situation and the possibility of negligence on the part of the health professionals.
We should remember they are all humans as us and they make mistakes but then it will help to put a check on carelessness etc.

However you will need to prepare and be ready emotionally, psychologically, physically, mentally and even the exposure for you and baby.

As for your file, with court order the investigative team will be able to pull it and team of professionals will review it for any loopholes.

Remember in the file doctors make note of all the agreement/disagreement, suggestions accepted/decline ETC between them and patients. So technically what ever proof will be in black and white.

I read somewhere that CP is caused by different stuff and about 70% is during brain development, 20% during birthing and 10% after birth. And further if forceps were used to speed up delivery you may have grounds for a birth injury lawsuit (medical negligence).
Finally remember that God will never give you a shoulder small enough to carry your burden. Call on him, look up to him and hold unto him for grace/favour/blessings etc because he knows you are strong enough for this journey.
Be strong and trust Baba God

My main problem now is my husband wants to sue the dr/hosp more so in light of what the new dr said as per querying the use of a forceps......me I really don't know as I am doing everything humanly possible not to put additional stress on my body/mind.
