Why will you go on a visitor's visa and plan not to return? How do you intend to live in SA? You can't convert your visitor's to any other kind of visa in SA. Please south africans and other Nationales read Nairalang and you are making it harder for genuine visa seekers to get visas by spilling your intended fraudulent ways to the world.

There is no legitimate job for people who do not have a work visa in South Africa, and to get a work visa you need to be very skilled with a competent body accreditng your skills. It is a tough one don't come to SA and hang you will be forced to go into crime, which we don't want to happen

To do that, you have to first do saqa evaluation of your result to know your NQF grade.

There's no work in South Africa unless you want to work under Nigerians or do petty jobs for R3000 per month (about N60k) and rent will take about R1500 for half bedroom (5' x 10'), food is cheap (R25 {N500} per plate with 3 heavy meat, two meal per day). Dubai to get a job you need agents and they will collect about AED1000 (about 80k might even dupe you cos naija bad everywhere) a shared room in Dubai is about AED500 monthly, you will work as a laborer and will earn maximum of 2000Dirham, your passport will be siezed for 2yrs make you no run cos they invested to do your medicals and permit to stay and work, I've been to both places and I will prefer South Africa cos getting Asylum will be easy with money (far back 2008 it was free and 2013 it was R500 for Asylum and renewal after 3months but now I no know cos I've not been there for a long time, the queue for asylum long sha) and note whenever you come back home from both countries by staying illegally there you can't go back again ooo but please don't do drugs okay? Try and look for links to get scrap motherboard in computer (there's gold inside them) and sell them in South Africa na x5 money be that and it will fetch you money to start life, pay rent and get a car in 1year. I was doing CPA marketing then to pay rent easily as well. Just be innovative and be prayerful and lastly South African girls got it all but HIV is real there.

1 Dirham is x 80naira

I hope you will like the hint. smiley

The "wrongest" piece of advice anyone can give you is going to get asylum from SA. There is a new debate now in parliament to stop asylum seekers from going to schools and stop working. I think leaving a country like Nigeria to collect asylum in SA is dehumanizing! SA isn't Yamkee neither is it western europe. If you can't have the necessary papers legally in SA, just don't bother! Living in half bedroom with Asylum and eating twice a meal in SA is far better than living in 2-bedroom in Nigeria with no electricity/water, fueling car @ 143 unpaid salary and uncertain 2.square meal. Asylum doesn't mean you can't come back to your country if you are tired of staying there is just for you to move freely and even buy a good car with it, you can even go back to Nigeria if you have no passport using travel certificate (TC), and whoever thinks education (just a stepping stone) is the future to wealth should retrace his steps and mind you not everyone can afford one, do you think paying 150k for school tuition is easy at the end of the day where the work? We all have different dreams, if they eventually give anyone 3.months visa to SA go there and explore at the long.run you can study @ any university with your asylum like UNISA (University of South Africa in Sunnyside Pretoria) with your school ID no police will harass you, if you can't live there change your ticket and come back home. South Africa is far better than Europe even UK (can you afford the bills in Europe?)... I stayed in Antwerp, Belgium you hardly find blacks to relate with and high discrimination/racist look in bus train/public place but in SA you will definitely have a companion either Nigerian or SA'n anywhere you are to give you heads up, walk in the malls like Kings. If you got plans your permit will come in due course.... My own take is play it cool be steadfast and don't do drugs.

UNISA hardly gives study permit, try Tshwane University of technology or Pretoria Tech College.

Saw ur pm
You need to be admitted before you apply for study permit.
Since u going for ug you need HESA exemption certificate( to evaluate your waec). Then you use it to apply.

Every futher information you need is on this trend. Read through.

South Africa is a great country no doubt, I am a permanent resident of south Africa with an SA I.D but resently went back to Nigeria to start up something though my family still lives in SA so I am tied to SA so I can't diss SA. My point is that a nigerian is too big to live as a refugee in SA or anywhere else. It is wrong, asylum is for people under threat from their home countries, we aren't under any threat in Nigeria so stop advising people on the internet to do things the dodgy way it is not fair on Nigeria it is not fair on the host country. You keep saying Nigeria is bad, but u are part of the bad if u keep encouraging pple to come and stay in SA as a liar. If anyone wants to migrate to any country with all pleasur please do its a free world, there are channels to do it unfortutunately the channels are not legally open to everyone. Don't use false identity to get it, don't lie your passport is missing so that you can travel with a TC, people on asylum can not open a bank account anymore in SA. Like I said there is an on-going debate to stop asylum holders from working and studying, it is not yet effective, still on the discussion level. Peace!

Read through all the thrend post if you really want fast answers. I don't know much about HESA evaluation process. How can you pay tuition fee without being admitted? You will have to gain admission first before tuition fee payment just like in naija here, only that u may pay apllication fee. Some schs require u to pay a % of the tution fee before registration. Then with all these documents; WAEC,HESA,Admission letter, completed study permit form, medical report, yellowfever card, statement of account etc u apply for Study permit at the South Africa High commission.

@general 1970,I read your detailed information keenly and I mist commend your effort and time taken to enlighten us on this. Please I'd like to ask this question based on what you said that you have been to both UAE and SA.I'd like to know where would be better for one tp migrate and make it easily as I intend to go either of these places soon ,More so,apart from this two places, where else would you suggest or recommend one to go,a place where one can easily settle down get a job and make a living, thanks.
