Disagreeing with a view point doesnt equate to insults.

I put up an idiomatic expression to drive home a point and your comment turns to an insult.

We should learn to be civil in our discussions.

You should av allowed me give my opinion about the topic before cursing your generation. Please read my posts well to gets a glimpse of my stance regarding Buhari dictatorial tendencies.

But you are the one that started cursing your generation when I wasn't in support of this move on the other tread, you quoted me and cursed your generation.

Now you can feel how it is when you quote someone to start talking trash instead of simply stating your views on the topic.

Emergency powers are defined. How does the President getting emergency power to tackle our economic problems amount to sacking the NASS?

Good question. Trust is everything, once you betray it, you lose everything. Due to the president's perceived disobedience of court orders, people feel he's on a cruise ship to gain absolute power that will make him more powerful. Lets say for instance (just an instance) his intention is to utilize 80% of the said powers to develop the north economically, how will the national assembly prevent this from happening when they have already given him the powers to set aside the constitution and do whatever he deems necessary? And if you give him the powers to do whatever is necessary to deliver his economic stimulus package, what if he feels the assembly is "in his way" of providing the needed package? I dont think he needs absolute powers at this time, he can work with the assembly to get accelerated hearing on bills meant for economic development. Thats my take.

The amount of illiterates on this thread is mind boggling. Most of those shouting "tyrant" don't know the contents of the bill.

Y'all need to get an education.

My mouth is agape reading their comments. Is it that they don't know; and are truly very poorly educated that they can't properly comprehend the english language? Or is it that they do understand but are just filled with hate? Because, I truly don't understand.

Well I said earlier he is "perceived to" disobey court orders, probably he did, probably he didn't... But he said on National TV (interview with News reporter) that he was ready to detain 2 alleged criminals (Kanu and Dasuki) due to the weight of their crimes against court order. He seems to be displaying tendencies of wanting absolute power

Ignorance is a disease. Here are the highpoints for ignoramus like u. Come back and tell me how opposition will be fought with it

Operation Resuscitate Nigerias Economy...

Bullet Points:

● Abridge the procurement process to support stimulus spending on critical sectors of the economy

● Make orders to favour local contractors/suppliers in contract awards

● Abridge the process of sale or lease of government assets to generate revenue

● Allow virement of budgetary allocation to projects that are urgent, without going back to the National Assembly

● Amend certain laws, such as the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) Act, so that states that cannot access their cash trapped in the accounts of the commission because they cannot meet the counterpart funding, can do so

● Embark on radical reforms in visa issuance at Nigeria’s consular offices and on arrival in the country and to compel some agencies of government like the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), the National Agency for Foods Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and others to improve on their turn around operation time for the benefit of business.

Good. My fear is not about granting him that power he seeks, it is the fact that this man is not known to keep his words. He might just need it to turn himself to an overlord and recklessly abuse that power while the NASS and the masses watch on helplessly.
Even during his military reign, he never kept his sugar coated promises. How then will he start now to keep promises when he has even gotten worse than he was then.
Is he a Master Baker?

China is not a multi-ethnic country like nigeria. Northern chinese and Southern chinese look alike but does a northern nigerian look like an Easterner?

The daura lord himself have severally expressed contempt for having to rely on the legislature in order to take certain decision. Giving him absolute powers is one way ticket to extinguishing the national assembly itself.

He has always thought that democracy is madness, more powers will have him murdering more nigerians who question his decisions even though it directly affects their lives.

All these wailers that don't reason properly or do any form of research on matters before dishing out trash. The bill is not even from the President's office, but rather the vp's led economic team. How what they re proposing relates to powers to rule beats the imagination.
