VISA APPROVED (20/10/16).I got to the embassy in Abuja around 8:am cos my interview was scheduled for 9:am. I sat down on a chair i paid #200 for and started singing Way Maker by Sinachi,that song didn't leave my mouth till i got into the interview room.It kept my nerves in check and boosted my faith.I got on the line and everyone in front of me was denied,one albino who brought his mother in law for interview got his visiting visa cancelled,the V.O said his wife was leaving in the US illegally.Me i kept saying my case is different cos i be God pikin. It finally got to my turn o.Me:good morning(not sure if he answered).............V.o why are you going to NYFA) ME:It provides intensive training in a short amount of time,it focuses on hands on learning experience as classes are held in studio sets similar to the one used by broadcasters the world over)..........V.o cuts in:how did you find out about this school).......Me: i usually go thru the profile of the people i look up to to have a clear sense of what their journey is about and a couple of them had gone to NYFA,so i did my google research).........V.o:who are some of these people? )..........Me: i mentioned the names)...........V.o:did you apply to other schools).......Me:yes,university of Georgia and Wichita state university).........V.o: why didn't you go to Georgia?.....Me:i was about saying why i chose NYFA again but he said no,i said why didn't u go to Georgia,i now said cos its not as hands on as NYFA)......V.o:what do you do now)........Me:i finished my NYSC in may and i was working for the orientation broadcasting service and i still work with them voluntarily,i have been going on auditions too).....V.o:auditions for what)......Me(to be a T.v presenter,he nodded)......V.o:have you travelled out of Nigeria before?).........Me: i said i have not had the need to)......V.o: who will pay for this).......Me: i got an $8000 scholarship and my elder bro would pay the rest).The V.o was now looking so confused like he was looking for what to ask me(i knew it was God at work)he just gave me the 2white papers.My prayer before the interview was that my bank statement should not be checked cos the money was not enough and it was printed in july,i studied accounting but I'm going for broadcast journalism.God did it.Thanks to everyone and walspring for helping with my sevis fee payment.God is the answer to it all.
congratulations......

Hey guys, I got this from my department yesterday, It may be useful for some people here..

"Good Morning:

My name is Rachel Levitin and I am the Program Manager for the National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) Fellowship Program based in Washington, D.C. From its inception, the goal of this program has been to increase the number of STEM professionals in the U.S. workforce.

The NDSEG Fellowship Program is a three-year funding opportunity for students in or near the beginning stages of their overall graduate study and it is meant for students who plan to pursue research-based doctoral degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines.

The program provides awarded fellows with:

• 36 months of full tuition and mandatory fee coverage at any accredited U.S. institution;
• A $1,000 medical health insurance allowance per each year of the three-year program tenure;
• And $102,000.00 in stipend payments over three years.

Students can start applying to the program as early as their undergraduate senior year and as late as the start of their third year of overall graduate study.

The reason we are getting in touch with you today is because we would like to introduce this fellowship opportunity to you and your colleagues.

This year’s deadline for a 2017 award is December 9 at 5 p.m. Eastern Time.

If this is of interest to you or your colleagues, please let us know! We're happy to answer any and all questions related to the program.

Additionally – if you or colleagues at your institution are eligible and interested, panelist registration for the 2017 NDSEG Digital Application Evaluation is now open at https://ndseg.asee.org/panelists. This year’s evaluation panel will be held digitally throughout the month of January 2017. For more information, please contact our team directly.

Our team can be reached at NDSEG@asee.org or at (202) 649 – 3831.

Respectfully,

Rachel Levitin

Nice post however this kind of funding won't usually be open to international student..... so i checked on their website. see quote below :

The NDSEG Fellowship Program is open only to applicants who are citizens or nationals of the United States. The term "nationals" refers to native residents of a possession of the United States such as American Samoa. It does not refer to a citizen of another country who has applied for U.S. citizenship. Persons who hold permanent resident status are not eligible. Proof of citizenship will be required upon formal offer.

depending on what category you are applying for ........if its student visa , a marriage certificate should be fine and they most likely wont ask to see it , they can just ask if you are married or not

Stopover mean A short interruption  in a journey why layover is a paused in a journey but If I should get u right u are trying to say layover.... Wen u are having layover its a situation whereby u have a pause in a journey for some hours, ur plane will land and u will come out, atimes u might board another plane nothing like POE until u get to ur destination

You dont have to do any preparation. ....where ur stop over .. just follow d signs of people coming out. Usually if u dont have visa for that stop over country then u shouldnt come out of the airport...just walk around in d airport and find something to do while time goes. make sure you note the boarding time of your connecting flight and be infront of the gate in good time so u dont miss the connecting flight....

Its easy , once u there instinct will lead u

Pls that's is above. I hope it means post-office boss address, which I have. But which one is valid from so-and-so date to so-and-so date. Our post-office box address has been several years which I cannot remember, likely before I was born. And we don't intend to ever close it down, so how do I explain when it's valid from to what?

LagosIsmyHome , Walspring , etc. Pls help o. I need to fill it tonight.

Your mailing address can also be your house address. It doesn't have to be a Post Office Box.
