Hello house. I'm trying to apply for my student permit against January 2017b and I have just 2 questions.

1. I learnt that the Police clearance certificate can now be obtained in other locations beside Alagbon. I will like to know if the SA embassy does not have a problem with obtaining it elsewhere, I plan to get mine in Ibadan.

2. If one is going on full scholarship, does one still need to have a huge sum of money in one's account. Can someone kindly give me an idea of how much I should have in my account?
Thanks in anticipation.

Hey,
It depends on the terms of the scholarship. If it caters for everything and the value is ok, then you might not need a statement of account.

Best.

Guys hi. My study visa is expiring December 31st. I have started the process of renewal but it's going to take another 30 days before my documents are all ready. What's the repercussion for late renewals?

There is no consequence for late application but it is better you apply on time .You can apply November it takes two weeks for permit to be renewed .Remember you don't need police report from Nigeria.

Please o, I applied to a Uni for M.Sc. now...the school is asking me to come for an interview. My question is...is it really necessary, can I request for another option. Having to travel all the way because of an interview? Extra cost! Has anyone experienced this before. Your candid advise. Thank you.

Hello, kindly put me through how you got your visiting visa. Thank you. The BI 24 form, police clearance, colour copies of biodata page, bank Statement, hotel booking/accommodation. Is there anything else?
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by ife01(m): 11:34pm On Oct 26, 2016
You may request for an interview via Skype or any other online media both parties may be comfortable with. It's allowed.

There is no repercussion as long as you submit before visa expires, what document is delaying you and why is it taking 30days? BTW the automated police clearance has been suspended indefinitely, so you have to do your police clearance in a police station

I had a similar experience with UFS and WITS. UFS was not even willing to do skype. WITS did Skype after 4 months of sending proposals, and reviews by them. Several Assignments and exercises back and forth. In the end, none of them gave an offer.

If a school wants to take you, a physical interview is not necessary. Especially if you pass the basic admission requirements.

My take is this: Apply to multiple schools. I probably applied to over 10 schools after my WITS rejection. Application most times is free for most schools.

I still got a few rejections but I also ended up with offers from two very good Uni's. Have a very good proposal and keep applying. My advise is not to follow the traditional application process if you are applying for research. Try to reach out to Lecturers directly and ask them if they will be willing to take you as a research student. You would have to send your proposal and then they will review and tell you if they can.

My own process took some planning and research eventually before I got offers.

Hi, please i need your help. I got admission into an aviation in South Africa, I would like to know for the medical & radiology report do i need to look for a hospital in lagos or rather use the South Africa medical insurance or both of them at thesame time are necessary.
Secondly the police report will they submit it themselves or I would have to collect it and add it to my documents for submission.
Also do i need to add prove of accommodation to my documents when submitting
And my sponsor is my husband but he is not a Nigerian citizen, will his bank statement just do or i need more than his bank statement.

I will assume you are currently in Nigeria, you need to find a hospital in Nigeria to do your radiology and medical reports, preferably a govt hospital. Your medical insurance is a different thing, that is done in SA but you need to do it before you apply for your visa. Your police character certificate too must be done in lagos, its done at alagbon. Any bank statement is ok but it must be genuine and must have enough transaction and avalaible balance also it will be advisable to show the ties that exist between you and your husband e.g marriage certificate, you need to have organised were you will stay in SA during your course of study, your school can arrange that for you if you talk to them or an agent in SA can get you that or if you are going to stay at a relative's apartment let the person prove it in writting and documentation. I hope this helps all the best

Thank you. I have applied for police clearance last week. It has been sent to Pretoria. I was told I would get a notification on the 22nd of November. which is a month or so from now. I haven't done medical & radiology as well, don't know how long that takes. Thats the only issue for now. my visa expires 31st of December

medical and radiology report take just 1hour or less .Please try to submit application before Decemeber .More importantly you should have applied for the police certificate since July or August to avoid pressure .Download the medical and radiological report form from home affairs website and take it to any hospital for Dr signatures and stamp .Some hospitals have the form .

Hi guys, I av just been accepted to study for master at ukzn in which school fee and accommodation had been catered for by the school, and I'm concern about the following with respect to visa application to avoid rejection.
1. The program is expected to start January 2017, can I submit a visa application next month (November)
2. On the visa application a three month account statement is demanded for but on this forum I notice people saying 6months, which one is advisable
3. From my account statement130k - 180k flows across monthly, in most cases I empty it. (I just want to start saving from this month and family contributions for my travel) is this presentable or I should get a sponsor
4. What is the average feeding and maintenance cost per month in rand or how much can I hold as stipend
5. Can I use a family member or friend as sponsor

Thanks in millions

Hello everyone,

I plan to change my school here after spending about four months. Do I need to get a police report from here, given that I haven't spent six months? Do I need to get a police report from Nigeria? Thanks

No police report needed, but u need to get a clearance from your present school that you are not indebted to them in any way

This is just a tip, as long as you don't have a permanent residence yet, always have a valid police clearance, you never know when you can need to apply, opportunities can come up anytime and you won't want a mere police clearance stop you. So I advise every 6 months apply it costs just 96 rands

Thanks alot for this info! I have been so confused. The new school is giving a full scholarship that covers all expenses, plus a stipend. Do I need to include my statement of account in the application?

Many thanks
