....i Av. Been privileged to live both as a yoruba person and also as an igbo person; reason: I wz born by a yoruba mum by an igbo dad. and for many years up till 12 years old, lived with ma mum alone with dia family. We were thought to hate the igbo from childhood.both me and d oda children alike in the environment.we wr made to bliv dey hv no hawses in d east dts y dey cramp all around big cities living in slumps, dat the war haws made dem homeless nd that if the girls merry dem,dey wld b taken to onitsha nd wkd nvr b brought to civilization nd that that is y dey ar pursuing mony soo hard.honestly.i believed that...till ma dad came for me wen I wz 14. we stayd in lag with ma siblings frm difrnt mom.truly we lived in a slum.bt I wz shocked on ma 1st visit to the east that it wz full of even better hawses.nd wz told igbo rush to lag cuz if economics chances of survival rather than lack of accomodation.also in ma igbo haws.i wz told to b careful abt the yorubas.the only reason they gave is because they think the yorubas hate them wit passion.now I ask ma fellow nairalanders.which among the two tribes actually preach hate for no good reason...?

Are your parents divorced? Maybe there was a bitter divorce that your mother was foolishly fuelling into ethnic hate in you. And then, I have an extended relate whose in-laws sent out of her lovely husband's house (and a marriage) because she's 'Yoruba'. Such a bitter woman will certainly train her children to see evil in his father's 'tribe'. Ditto Yoruba.
Many people forgot that Soyinka and Tai Solarin were jailed because of Igbo's. For 22 months, they were in jail. Tell me, which Igbo man has ever done that to another ethnic group? I think most Igbo's including Nebo are really suffering from megalomania. As for you be in trained by your mother to hate on Igbo's, discountenance that as the instrument of a 'bitter' woman and not the projection of the Yoruba's.
And maybe Yoruba's need to understand and put up with the Igbo man's sense of self-grandeur. Maybe Yoruba's should just respect such thing as I have observed that that's the only way for them to feel good. Its high time we let them continue with their over exaggerated senses of self-importance. They are programmed megalomania.
Unless you want to lie, you'll observe that your paternal family are not humble and that your mum's people possibly detest that a lot. Right?

This idiot was given a chance to become a minister in the government of Nigeria(not of Biafra or Enugu state!) and he took it. He didn't decline the appointment because he felt other tribes hate the igbos and so he could only be a minister for the igbos. It is sad that some people claim to have academic degrees up to PhD level in this country yet their minds are not really educated. How could a professor who had served as a federal minister be so tribalistic and be so divisive? The comments were not made by an average igbo spart-parts trader in Lagos and thus shouldn't be lightly dismissed.

If you live peacefully among the Yorubas, or amongst other tribes for that matter, own land; build houses and businesses(which they patronize). And you still say these tribes hate you and are out to get you, you are just being paranoid and hysterical. Your land is where you call home and find success and happiness. We are all Nigerians. Stop this madness!

If you've chosen to argue blindly without concrete fact, then you'll see your hypocrisy in the mirror

Until you ppl are united within yourselves and stop blaming every tribe but yourselves for your political miscalculations and prematurity - you just be wallowing in that same inferiority complex and needles defence mechanism
Mr man just shut up! When did APC official opinion becomes the opinion of the Yoruba race? Can't you differentiate between APC as a political party made up of different ethnic group with Yoruba as an ethnic group? When did opinion of Ambode (who was just being politically correct because of exigencies) becaomes the opinion of the Yorubas? As far as we know, Obas in Yoruba land represent the views and cultures of the Yoruba race, hence they are called the custodian of the Yoruba culture. Keep deceiving yourself if you like!

Lmfao. Says who. Biafra struggle has been around for a long time. As a matter of fact Nigerians talk about it more freely now than they did before and whatever discrimination that were meted on the igbos because of it is waning because they have paid enough for it. Not quite my brother. The Nigerian space has stultified the progress Igbos should have made over the years. You might be too young to understand; probably fed with lies by those who do not want a fair competition in Nigeria. Among the Igbo success is always a destination that everyone desires naturally. Begging is not in our culture. Competition is very welcome but Nigerians don't want to compete with us. That's the problem. Let me tell you. The time in those 50's and early 60's when the central government did not exercise the neck-break control was the best period for the Igbos and a reference for who the Igbo man is. The success we attained in this period is a poignant nightmare that your bigoted brothers do not want to see happen anymore, even if they bring the entire country down as a result which is exactly what they have done. But it has brought collateral damage for all of us. Way forward is for sensible people to come together and make governance what it was when things worked. The big resounding outcome will always be restructuring so that when a bigot at Aso Rock indicates that he will only dispense dividend of democracy to those who did not vote for him, such a bigoted position will not have any effect.

But, do you guys really believe that thrash you wrote up there? Which region was better before Nzeogwu and his ilks truncated our regional system? I can tell you authoritatively that most of your fathers were only fortunate to go to school due to Awo's free education. In all honesty, you guys are suffering from acute megalomania. You all needs to stop the blame game and bulldoze your way to victory.

I have ur mates at home that I still feed. They are not emotionally bankrupt as you and are far beyond your grasp of civilization.

May be until you people learn that the world is not igbo and that you import nearly all you sell, at least 98%, then you know the difference between a shop owner and a manufacturer of goods.

Mind you, all your businesses in Yoruba land, SS, North, are easily replicated because they are merely buy n sell. From gala, electronic, auto parts, gari, rice n beans sellers; these are mostly your business.

Ask yourself where most of those items originate from.

Again, nobody hates you people, it's what you repeated to yourself over time and make it a culture.
Really? This is the most senselesss comment I've come across in nairaland! Are you mentally alright? You can feed me? Hahahahahahahaa. The internet is indeed faceless and anonymous, if not how can a poor church rat claim he can feed his father. Seriously bro, if you say this physically I will make sure you disappear from planet earth. You're just a lucky chap, thank your stars bro, thank your stars!

Name 5 of those championing such cause. I have no problem with an Igbo man becoming the President of Nigeria as I believe in justice and fairness, however a rebellious mindset is far more of a negative attribute to use in getting such position.

....Your postulations garnished with insults will simply affirm his negative perceptions of yorubas..Instead of simply telling him that his mom's family's behaviour should not be used as a yardstick to measure every single yorubas, you are talking bunkum.

...Your distant cousin or whatever was sent out of her 'lovely' home simply because she was yoruba..really??..if one is to reason like you, then one can simply wonder if it was not beacuse of adultery and too much juju, with witchcraft practice in the mix that made her husband run for his dear life..nonsense.
