still, how does it stop eko atlantic from becoming world class city?
. It will just be a shell that looks fine. We Nigerians are still not developed. Nepa will still stake light, Septic systems will still fail, the lift will not work, rust will overcome exposed metal. There will be no provision for the blind, no public toilets for the pedestrians, no ramps for wheel chairs, people can get lost and missing without a trace. The traffic light bulbs will be burnt and no one will replace. Any stranger can use public transport (Big bus, train) day or night, 1am, 2am. We have a very wrong conception of development. We are trying to resemble by importing instead of behaving properly. All I said here, I experienced in that little village in Yorkshire, England. They are already worldclass. They don't need tall buildings to prove anything.

You cannot ignore human beings. There must be public toilets, public waste bins. Provision for the blind to cross roads, unassisted. This city is a display of wealth. Not development. It will only attract thieves and unemployment. What is the plan for emergency evacuation? Will there be water on the day there's a fire? Or we will look helplessly as a building burns completely because the fire engine had broken down in traffic? I produce computer graphics as well. I know how to manipulate people with beautiful images. No be fight O. Just think it through. We did this thing before with National Theatre and Festac. Today both are wrecked

From what you have written it means you don't know anything about the land use act.

Once you have sold your land, that land is no longer for you.
Moreao, all lands belong to the office of the state government, who gives C/O to both "indigenes" and "foreigners"so when the 99 years expire, you have to go back to who issued you the C/O (state gov) to get a renewal, not any mumu Awori or whatever you call it.
P.S. Yoruba man from Kwara/Osun/Ogun will need to renew his C/O too. lol

If you manage to fill up the place with Oyibos, and they all push you out of your own land, Is that development? Nigerian's have a very wrong conception of Development.

The reason people loathe your region is because you are hostile to your visitors...there are Yorubas aplenty in the north, there are Yorubas even in the South South, but because of your hostile and arrogant nature, people loathe your region, period! Also, Yorubas believe in the principle of 'charity beginning at home' that is why Adenuga, Otedola, Alakija et al all have their businesses in the west. Plus, Yorubas have a long unadulterated history of hospitality...have you wondered why Dangote doesn't have as little as a tuck shop in the east? You guys need to go and check yourselves, even your sons and daughters are running away from the east.

I am proudly Yoruba, and I approve this message!

A developed people forms a developed nation. It is not by importing foreign contractors, foreign building materials and foreineres to occupy the accomodation that we become developed. No western nation was built that way. Festac and National stadium were developed just like this and today they have crashed. We are still not developled.

Something you don't seem to understand is were ever you're born, you don't envy or want the place to be destroyed. The Chagoury brothers are proud Lagosians, you don't hear them screaming the Lebanese has conquered Yoruba Land, who own Yoruba Land. Go on youtube and watch their interviews, they say it proud, Lagos made us, we are proud of our Nigeria (Yoruba) heritage.

If you are Igbo born in Lagos, why are you afraid to accept and say it out loud, that you're igbo born in Lagos and you love your Yoruba heritage. Why do igbo's try to drag a Yoruba city with owners, saying it's a no man's land, when you all know that the Awori families, who sailed to Lagos from Ile Ife owns Lagos. You all know that Lagos has tens of Oba's, hundreds of cheifs and baale's, you know that Lagos is been Governed by Yoruba's, you know that any street name is been named by the authority.

So were is all this Lagos is a no man's land coming from, we have all tribes and over 300 ethnic groups living in Lagos, ask yourlself this question: WHY IS IT ONLY THE IGBO'S ALWAYS THE ONES CALLING LAGOS A NO MAN'S LAND.

Is either you are proud of your igbo roots, or you assimilate yourself into a new Yoruba heritage and be proud of it.

And who would imagine this expanse of land used to be the popular bar beach we go during yuletide.....quite impressive

What is impressive? The bar beach is a common land for the enjoyment of all the residents of Lagos before and after independence. You are now celebrating the acquisition of what belongs to everyone by some thieving politicians. These sort of common lands exists in England and other civilised countries even before the colonies and they are still existing as common land till today. The master plan of Abuja a city which was created less than forty years ago has been ripped apart by corrupt politicians who were allocating lands that were designated as recreational space to themselves and their cronies. It's very sad.

I agree on that. So far you are born in Lagos, and grew up in Lagos, you are a Lagosian. The issue is some Igbos make annoying comments like Lagos is no man's land or they owe majority of the property in Lagos. Do you know that the popular Oshodi family are from Nupe? And do you know that the popular Eyo festival is from Iperu in Ogun state? Lagos is cosmopolitan and it has been that way for a long time. However, respect indigenous people like the Aworis, Ijebus and Eguns.

Yes you're right, but you hear them say they are British of Yoruba origin. You don't hear them saying UK is a no man's land, telling the Queen we have conquered your kingdom. Sometimes I wonder if the Igbo's say all this things on purpose, just to provoke the Yoruba's. I don't understand why they can't be humble. The likes of Dangote, Sanusi, Dantata and all the royals of Nigeria, most of them lives in Lagos, before taking their thrown in their respectful states, you don't hear them causing the Yoruba's. When they visit the Oba, they are always humble, dress in Yoruba outfit with Yoruba cap to show respect for the culture. I remember seeing pictures of Prince Sanusi (now the Emir of Kano), visiting Ife and Ibadan, even though this guy was muslim, he gave Yoruba royals a 75% prostration (which is accepted), thats how its down.

It was Igbo's fighing to become igwe of Lagos, fighting to be Igwe of Onda, fighting that Lagos is no man's land, insulting Yoruba's they are dirty, they are lazy, they are cowards and you igbos are the one in their land, if it's not course (no disrespect), how do you want us to feel, do you hear news of Yoruba's in the North, East, South South fighting, robbing, kidnapping, doing drugs.
