Marriage should not be what defines you. Marriage should not be what determines your happiness. Marriage should not be something that makes you feel made, whole, complete.

With or without marriage, a person should feel whole and complete....
Yes, there are times when the longing to be with someone who gets you surfaces...it is normal and human. But don't wear it like a hat. Don't go about letting that longing occupy your thoughts and feelings to a point where you become (well, almost) efficiently and effectively useless to the world around you.
That's an unattractive and unhealthy trait

It is not advisable to anchor your happines, sense of identity and self awareness on anything, not even marriage.

If you follow the advice above, you will find that marriage is pleasurable and worth subscribing to in every sense of the word.

I am happy that God granted me my desire of marrying someone I can go through life with and not feel regret deep down.

I wish everyone who so desires the same.
Whatever you wish for yourself, keep thinking it. With time it will materialize.

Xynerise, I was responding to this post and the one that necessitated this.

There was an implication on this thread that I was being hypocritical back then on the marriage issue.

Except for when I troll, I take everything I say here serious. Especially when I give advice or opinions that could affect people on both conscious and subconscious levels.

It is very possible that I said all I said then because I was angry and bitter at men. It is also possible I said those things then because that's how I truly feel at my soul level.

My ability to pen such opinion again without flinching (albeit in different words) now that things have gotten really better is one way to
let myself know that irrespective of what any one thinks....I still remain true to myself. That's all that really matters.

So I finally got a marriage proposal after all these years, and the condition that he marries me is, that I denounce feminism, so my people, here I am to.....

1. State that I, freecocoa 1 of igboland(well known former feminist, world over), is no longer a feminist.

2. Remove myself from every feministic activity, I will neither be seen nor heard wherever the word "feminist" exists.

3. Warn every and any feminist on this platform to never quote nor mention me, ever, as I have no business with them as does light and darkness.

4. Say that henceforth, all opinions of me, shall be as that of a virtuous women. I shall be known and addressed as "Ezi nwanyi nke di uko"

5.Apologise for ever being a feminist who thought it wasn't okay for a man to cheat on me, silly me.

And lastly, Ask you all to pray for/wish me luck on my impending nuptials, please pray especially that the spirit of feminism never locates me again.

Well ideally a feminist is one who shows strong support for rights to be given to women equally and fairly as to men, e.g right to vote , right to education and also free from bias based on gender e.g Wage, and electoral position ideally everyone one of us can be said to be a feminist.

Its also about getting rid of that notion that certain fields are meant for certain genders, or women should always be a full time stay-at-home-mom/housewife unless she decides to. However modern feminisms in America is totally different which is what we refer to as white women feminism and if its extremely radical its classified as feminazi. Now white women feminism is simple feminism for white women it doesn't bother about minority and intersectionality (transgender) , they usually fight for what we call first world problems, right to abortion, body shamming , in fact to be sincere they are totally against things that don't make them feel comfortable. Feminazi on the other hand are just misandrist who hate men and the patriarchy and would love to see the death of all white men. Now you notice I mentioned white men because other minorities are not responsible for laws and legislation so they don't care about them. This is how I see it.
