So many typos. 3-5 days to hear back.
Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by Funmijj3: 9:53pm On Feb 09, 2017
Hello everyone. I'm new here and I need some advice please. My son age 8 applied for an eea family members visa recently,And he was refused. He went to Ikeja to submit ,and I sent all original documents (pay slips,DNA test, employment letter, tenancy agreement, letter from landlord etc) to Sheffield the same day. To my surprise, I received an email exactly a week, that a decision has been made.
The refusal letter states the reason he was refused is because we didn't include evidence of employment in the UK. So they are not sure if I am exercising treaty rights in the uk. But everything is with them in Sheffield. They didn't even bother to check because the decision was made just 5 day after. He was given a right to appeal. Please does anyone know how long it takes to appeal or should I put in a fresh application?

Just an update if anyone cares. Reached 60 days today. Contacted Sheffield because two weeks ago in inquired and they said decision was made but I still don't have my passport. They responded and asked for more information so as to escalate the issue ( not even sure what said issue is). Now I am supposed to wait anoth 3-5 business days to head back. undecided

Sorry to hear about the delay in you getting back your passport/Documents......60 days is a long time.... If you are within walking distance to Tls office... Go there and check for yourself... with my 1st application i never got a message from Tls .... I went to there office and my passport was building dust there...

Appeal these days takes a lot of time and patience. Waiting time can range from within 6 months to over 1 year. From what you said, It appears you have a strong case and it would be overturned in your favor before or during the appeal period. While appealing address the ERROR made by the ECO and any other areas you fill was'nt considered. If possible supply more evidence. On the other hand if you have the finance you can put in another application as it would save you time. I also recommend you read back through this trend and you'll be more enlightened as to how to go about appealing.......

Wow...they really took their time, didn't they?
I don't know how you have managed to stay sane all this while.

Would say a prayer for you tonight.

Hit them with everything you have got.
It would soon be over

. It is Almighty God that has been the source of our strength. It is an experience one will never pray even for his enemy I was a novice then, I haven't got this forum and my lawyer was interested in money, they could not advise otherwise. I keep my fingers crossed. Anyway, thanks a lot for your sympathy and empathy. Nothing that has a beginning, it must have an end, no matter how dark the night it will break into a day, and every cloud has a silver lining, I am assured that there will be light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks @ Abbylove

When did you hear back? I still haven't heard back from them and when did you apply? Thanks for responding btw. Appreciate it.

I applied in September and received the decision end of November. called them in December to chase the IHS refund and was told about the 90 days. I'll say email them. They charged me over £10 for the call and the summary was to send an email. so, it was pointless.

Thank you so much for your help. I will make sure I put everything necessary this time around as you've said. I didn't know to appeal takes that long. And considering the BREXIT and all. Do you think going for an appeal will be the best or putting in another application. The application is free for an eea family member and it won't cost my anything. Thanks

What are you waiting for?

Reason why some people voted brexit, costs British citizens £2000 to bring spouses over

I'm yet to receive my original documents from Sheffield. That is the reason I haven't done anything yet. I don't know how long it's going to take to get it back. It's been 3 day now.

Learn from my predicament. Experience is the best teacher. Appeal and reapply simultaneously. Read my ordeals here: ' After Thirteen months of appeal, since November 2015 I got NOTICE OF HEARING beginning of this month which was fixed for towards the end of May (17 months)'. For appeals, if not overturned, then one should be looking forward to two years. Pls, A burnt child dreads the fire.

You do not need to put the copy of refusal notice there, there is a column in the application form where you will state reasons why you were refused the first application.

After reaching day 60 and basically having a fit. I was informed I did not pay return fee for my passport via Dhl ( which I did). My lawyers were told we have to make an additional payment. Right before we were going to pay again ( I didn't care I just wanted my passport) we receive within minutes of each other. The decision made email and the dispatch email. I assume it was a case of misadministration. So probably Monday I will know visa status. Thanks guys for helping keep me pseudo sane. Prayers up blessings down.

All the details you require is already on this thread. Deleting details of online profile, does not hinder your application.
Simply submit all other prerequisites and you should be fine.

Is it ok for both our families to write a letter of acknowledging our union just to add to the application for submission but is it ok to do that?

The little matter of how you meet, might be asked either during a phone interview or face2face interview.
Letters from both families, is not necessary (but would also not harm your application process).

Hello,

They look at household income so as long as the income from your own job meets the income threshold, then you guys are fine as it doesn't matter who earns the income once you're here in the UK. What matters is there's an income that meets the threshold.

I hope this helps!

Can you please let me know how much threshold my income has to met?
I'm working 11 hours a week for only 300£ a m month
Is this fine? Or they will cut some of his benefit and specialty housing benefit .
