Dtush,

Thank God it ended in praise. The devil is a liar

You can look at the option of a creche that runs like a home. You can drop off your child very early while the school bus picks/drops her there. Then you pick her when you return. Motherhood is a work! work! work! o

If you choose to resign, boost up ur bank account or have ur hubby drop some chunk of money in your account to keep u comfortable until you are able to get a source of livelihood that will enable you cater more for ur children.

Ultimately, pray about it and believe God for directions. He provides the best solutions

Thanks a lot. I will explore this idea. or u you know any around gbagada. i will be very grateful

Dtush- Thank God for you sister. My mind just flew reading your story. Thank God it ended in praise. Register her in a creche, you can customise your request(5.30-6). It will cost you but your child will be safe. Get a relative of yours or your husband's to live with you that's usually the safest option. With a job like yours,it will be tough handling a baby alone. All the best.

My sister, if your mind flew, imagine me in that situation. I really wish we could get a relative. My parents are late. My sister dat was helping out, went for nysc camp in calabar, else she would av been home with the nanny. my younger brother goes to school. My mother in law is late, my hubby is an only child.

So my case get comma. The school she attends in my estate does 7:30 to 5pm.

Dtush! Wow!!! So these things truly happen.
Thank God for his mercies.
Why don't you check on creche with after school facilities around you. They stay open till 7pm. Take time off work to ask around.
May God continue to protect our families.
Amin

Nathing, gripe water is why his stool is so hard.
As long as you are giving something for his colic/ stomach ache, constipation must set in.

Good evening lovely mamas in the house. My DD had her 14the week immunization last Saturday, she was feverish but no fever now. I am however worried because the site( her hip) oozed out pus tonight and it is still swollen and a bit reddish. Is there anyone in the house who has experienced this?

Cc soonest and every other mama.

Pls find attached the swollen hip.

Can you re-negotiate your working hours with your office? and see if one of you can drop her off and the other pick her up will work. that way if you go in early to work really early, hubby will leave later and drop her off at the school on his way to work and then you can leave work early to pick her up or Vice versa. you will have to work out whose work will allow for what and then decide who does what shift!

Combining childcare with work is not a walk in the park and a lot of compromises and sacrifices will need to be made. but there is really no perfect solution.

You may need to review his meals and adjust his diet to ensure he is taking a good mix of fibre, fruits, vegetables and loads of water and other fluids.
pawpaw and mangoes are good for helping bowel movements. water, milk and diluted fresh juices can be offered. sugary drinks and juice drinks should be avoided.

you could also see your Paediatrician to prescribe a stool softener to use in the short term (depending on his age). this will help the poo come out easier and help alleviate his fear and show him that pooing doesn't have to be stressful. hopefully with this he will learn how to stop holding it in.

I don't think it's a problem ma as long as d baby feeds and eat well, my Dd was also doing so initially but it's not as frequent as before again. Guess it reduces gradually as they grow.

So sorry. That's an injection abscess. Use warm compress for it to reduce swelling and speed up draining of the pus.
Watch it, if after 3 days, it's not going down and it's still producing pus, you may need to visit your doctor for an antibiotics course and if necessary incision and drainage.
Pls give baby paracetamol to reduce the pain.

From my experience, yawning in babies could have 3 causes. The easiest to eliminate is if you were on any strong painkillers. Once the effect wears off, the yawning reduces. Another is if your baby has been awake too long, it could lead to a cranky baby. The 3rd is if your baby is overstimulated, maybe she is watching too much TV, too many toys especially those singing and moving mobiles.

The last 2 are not so easy to deal with as you might not know when to slow down or stop. My own solution has always been to put the baby on a schedule. They kind of get used to what is to come next. And you can moderate it as they grow older. But for the first 2 months, no TV at all and very few 'noisy' toys.

@ dtush, that was a close shave. I thank God that nothing happened to her and the crooks were caught. What a scary experience.

However, I do not think the solution is to stop working. You could get your younger brother to go with the nanny to drop and pick up your dd on his way to and from school. Tell your gateman not to allow any one at all except you or your husband calls to let the person in. Vet any nanny you get. It's better to get someone that you or someone close to you knows to their family.

[quote author=dtush post=53762479]My story. At about 4pm on 13/02/2017, my hubby called me. I could barely hear what he was saying but i picked up a few words. Start heading home, the nanny left Olivia and has jumped the fence with her cohorts. I cant even explain the feelings that tore through me. I didnt even bother to shut down. I just grabbed my bag, snatched my wig from my head and raced to my car. My boss and colleagues ran after me. I just kept muttering my daughter, my daughter. They tried to grab my bag, saying i cant drive but believe me i wasn't thinking.

My dear sister, thank God for his mercies towards you. Where do you work or live? If on the island I might be able to recommend an afterschool creche.

Sorry about your son. As a quick relief to get out the stool fast, get to the pharmacy and ask for glycerin suppository. If you can find pedialax, that will be great (15-20mins), the poop will be out. If you don't find pedialax suppository, ask for Care infant/toddler suppository.

Going forward, increase his fibre intake. My son is almost 2 and we have been dealing with this since birth till I figured out how to go about it. I prepare a meal for him that is high in fibre and helps soften his poop. 10cups of corn, 4 cups of soybeans and 2 cups of groundnut. Fry and grind all together. To prepare. put water to boil in a pot, dissolve mixture in water and stir to the consistency you want. Add sugar and milk and serve. Ensure he takes it at least 3-4 times in the week. You will see a difference.

dtush, thank God for saving your daughter.

Think of work flexibility and consider a crèche.

U can resume 1hr late or close 1hr early.

You and hubby can choose to do drop off or pick up.

What @Soonest said has made me remember a story. Let me share a scene that I witnessed on my way back from work.

I recently resumed in a new job which was very fantastic but very far from my house. My baby is now over 6 months so was thinking of putting him in a creche near my office. I fought everyone about it because I still wanted to breastfeed.

My second day back, we were on Anthony bridge, going to the island and there was mega traffic. I observed a young woman driving a corolla and she had her Mum/MIL at the back with her baby in a car seat. All those bad boys came to her window and were threatening her, one even said he will break the glass were the baby was and collect the baby. She jejely gave them her wallet and phones. There was no place to go because she was between 2 trucks and everywhere was tight.

I have been analysing the issue and made up my mind not to take my baby anymore that the road was too treturous and far. So we need to also be very careful. Can imagine the fear that young mother had that day.
