I actually don't think him inspecting toilets is the main issue. Typically, most leaders rely on 'updates' from others, and they are constantly lied to about the state of many things, just like Jonathan was misled. Jonathan once said the power sector was perfect on international media, while the masses knew that was a lie. Why did he say that? He relied entirely on the lies he was fed in the reports and updates he received, versus seeing things himself or having a reliable team go out there to see what the masses experience.

I think our focus should be on the aftermath. After his surprise visit to the airport, several directors within that sector were fired just yesterday. Would we say they were fired because of some toilets? Heck no. It's simply because of their corruption and negligence. MMA is one of the airports in the world I know where some people extort travelers to use the toilet. I have experienced it first-hand at Abuja, Lagos and Port-Harcourt airports. Yet, we don't see that in other airports in North America and Europe.

In my opinion, there nothing wrong with his surprise visit to the airport even though the toilets is all the media reported. It doesn't make any sense to assume he left Abuja to fly down to Lagos just to see the toilets at the airport. He consequently fired incompetent directors afterwards, and that's what I think matters. Newer minds can bring some sanity to that sector.

Ever travelled out of nigeria If yes then you should know that visit was mandatory, I haven't seen any airport as useless as MMA, and this is the first sight every foreigner coming into the country would be welcomed with. You don't expect those mentioned to do so cuz things are working fine in their country already, what you wanted was him sitting in aso rock relying on them say information right?? Such visit will keep other sectors on alert cuz they don't know who is next and mind you all the top directors were sacked after the visit which shows it was really needed. No he means real presidents and leaders,pay attention to details. They go around to see things for themselves and make sure they're as reported by their aides,so that when decisions are made,they're based on accurate data. I am very happy to read some directors at MMA were fired yesterday , for those saying osinbanjo is not supposed to inspect, they seem to forget that this is Nigeria and Nigerians are actually the major problem of Nigeria.

It is good to appreciate good things. I totally disagree with your view, Nigeria is not US or Russia and different ailment requires different medicine. For those of us using this airport regularly be it local or international, we know that this calls for an urgent attention especially as these same facilities are shared with our foreign visitors.

Moreover, change truly begins from home. APC has failed through Buhari who has no idea of what true governance is but not Osinbajo. Constitutionally , the vice president office is redundant as nothing can be decide by the VP alone without the approval of the president. Just imagine the dramatic change we are experiencing in three weeks.I think Osinbajo deserves an applause while we pray for President Buhari quick recovery who will be ready to listen to the master now, not by age but intellectualism and experience.
