All you need to find out is whether she ovulates during the month.
Every fertile woman ovulates during every month. If she ovulates without her period, then I think she's fine.
Like somebody mentioned, it may be due to hormonal imbalance but I doubt that it affects fertility.
Afterall, the bleeding is just the body shedding the internal lining of the uterus and causing unnecessary pain.

Speak to a fertility doctor first and above all I think she could make kids for you after all she is raising her red flag thrice a year. Some women whose red flag is being raised steadily are still infertile.

It's a treatable condition and very common among young ladies. Make an appointment to go together with her to see a gynaecologist and ask all the questions you may have when you get there.

How can one ovulate without menstruating?

Are you saying that, there are situations where the ovaries will release the egg and the uterus would not be prepared ahead of time to accept this egg in case it get fertilized?

Also, I think it is the same hormone that controls both the egg release and the uterian prep, the later get broken down in the absence of fertilization, resulting in menstruation.

This is something that is common and is not the end all. There are ways to get things under control, and ease your mind. She may have PCOS which is called "polycystic ovarian syndrome". It's something that I'm dealing with in my life. Your lady issues sound familiar. It's a hormonal imbalance that is all. Which cause the ovaries to be slightly larger than normal. Have her go to a gynecologist that can help her understand her body. We may not know why God give us the battles that we face but go along her, support her. She will be fine. A family is still in you guys future as it is for me one day. Also, if this is the case the prescription "metformin" really helps dealing with hormonal imbalances. It will help with allowing normal menstrual cycles, and being to conceive normally. I hope I helped in any way.

Op, what ur gf has is called PCOS(polycystic ovarian syndrome). Now ladies with dis condition tend to have irregular menstruation , most of have an average of 3-5 menstruation per year. It is not a scary condition . When she is about to get pregnant doctors give one drug called clomiphene citrate to enhance follicular recruitment and they are able to get pregnant. For the irregular menses , COCs is given for regular flow, and it is preferred that she menstruates at least once in 3 months to prevent endometrial hyperplasia. I will advise you to see a gynecologist , let him/her explain more about the condition . Buh pple with PCOS usually get pregnant except their are other comobities.

It's probable she's has PCOS, which is an hormonal imbalance.
Change in diet can correct this and doesn't stop her from getting pregnant.

I think, this is a none question. If the OP is impotent, the lady must also take a hard look at her choices and their likely consequences, just like the OP is doing.

I doubt if most people would blame a lady for taking a pass on an impotent guy, just like most people wouldn't blame a guy for deciding against marrying an infertile lady, unless there is an agreed plan from both to work out a solution should the inevitable happens either through adoption, surrogacy, IV, etc.
