Why haven't the Igbos influenced the Igalas in Anambra state both in languages, name bearing, traditions and cultures?

Tomorrow if crude oil is discovered in Igbo part of Benue state, you guys will start telling us that they are no longer Igbos.
Not all tribes can be influenced. I have no idea why you think I am countering your assertion because of crude oil. I just stated my opinion.
You are not even making amy sense because I consider delta Igbos as Igbos. States are just political separations. Tribes will always identify with each other irrespective of their states.

MultiCEO1:
Igbo is a nation. Ikwerre, Ika, Nkwerre, wawa, Ngwa, etche, Igbere, etc are all tribes in the igbo nation. I am an Igbere man from Abia state. you are Ikwerre from rivers. If you are not Igbo. I am not Igbo. If you claim Ikwerre, then I claim Igbere.
Igbo has over 200 dialects with Abia state alone having more than 30.
A dialect becomes a language if it loses mutual intelligibility with the mother tongue. Ikwerre has not lost that. Igbere has not lost that. That mutual intelligibility in the Igbo language which ensures that an ikwerre man or Igbere man from the interior can fairly understand the 'central Igbo' or the igbo language of a real cosmopolitan city without aid or requiring interpretation even if he can only speak his dialect is what makes and leaves us all Igbo. You can hardly understand my dialect if you ate not from my place. Same with an ikwerre man. But the moment I step down to the central Igbo language, the confusion will be settled. This can't be if an ikwerre, Ibere, igbere, waka or nteje man goes to the north or south.
Meanwhile, Ijaw is Ijaw. Ijaw is not an ethnic group in the Igbo nation, same with many other tribes in old eastern region.

Ikwerre, Nkwerre, Igbere, Ibere are all tribes in the Igbo nation.

You have no right to tell another man who or what he is or not! If they have agreed they are Ikwerre or Ijaw or any other thing, you can't label them another thing. Simple

the Ogu/Bolo Lga people are Okrikans and they originated from the ijaws. they settled as a result of fishing. they are known to be fishermen. so they settle for a few months wile fishing. they go to their respective homes in ijaw during harvest, Easter and new year period to see their families. but their staying, the igbo people that come to these settlement areas to buy fish from these fishermen started settling down with them. some of them gave their maids to have an intercourse with the fishermen and do some trade by barter with these fishermen. as a result of this, some of them then who are not married start settling with them thereby turning the area to a fishing settlement (fishing port) and as civilization start waxing, and some parent not taking their children to there respective homes before their death. As a result of that, the children now make that settlement their homes and gradually, as development comes they become towns and villages. but the language still remind them of their originated tribe. and also the inter marriages to the igbos also helps the children speaking different languages.

You lack sense, you're trying to say Nigerians who now have US green card are no longer Nigerians just like Whole Soyinka who couldn't drop his US green card after betting to tear it if Trump wins,

Most African Americans are now carrying out DNA ancestry test to know their root, some adopt African names... go to YouTube and watch African Americans taking Igbo names in the naming ceremony and are proud, some have adopted other African countries as theirs, very soon that DNA ancestry test will be rampant and everybody will know where they belong

There are Igbos in the SE who don't want Biafra and it doesn't change the to another tribe,

If you think Obama is not a Kenyan because he is US citizen then I think you have a problem
First of all. There is a difference between green card and us citizenship.
I don't doubt that African Americans are trying to know their roots, my question is how many of them will drop their American citizenship for that of any African country??
Yes our ancestors might have migrated from Igbo land but we are not and will never be biafra!

Bro I never said you're countering my opinion because of crude oil. I was just pointing out some of the genesis of Igbo Rivers being Igbo or not.

All these noise is just for a political gains. Ikwerres hold major posts in Ọhaneze ndị Igbo forum. Have you seen an Ijaw man or Yoruba man holding post there?
Their non political elders know their history and identity.
Moreover, apart from Ikwerres, there are other Igbos in Rivers state.

Lastly whether Rivers Igbos deny being Igbo or not is non of my business. I was only trying to point out that no matter how hard you try, you can't change your origin. The person or groups may succeed politically, but can't succeed otherwise.

Liar! No one told you that.
Infact, we'd rather beg Cameroon to join us than add edo to Biafra.
Adding edo is tainting our bloodline.

You don't even know what your brothers are fighting for. Jeez...

According to YNaija:

The IPOB declared that Biafra is not for Igbo-speaking people as there are other people who do not speak Igbo but are part of the Biafran Republic.
In a statement signed by the spokespersons of IPOB, Emma Nmezu and Dr. Clifford Chukwuemeka Iroanya, the group pointed out that in the present-day Nigeria, Biafra cover: Abia, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo , and Rivers states as well as Igbanke in Edo State, Igala in Kogi State, and Idoma in Benue State.
The group noted that from the list of states, it is obvious that Biafra is not only made up of Igbo-speaking people but is rich with variety and diverse cultures.

“Biafra is a nation where different languages are spoken but irrespective of the varying languages, the people have a common value system, four market days, and a unique traditional clothing (two-piece wrapper) for every Biafran woman.
“It is instructive to note that Igbo is just one of the languages in Biafraland. Even the Igbo language has different dialects as someone travels from one community to the other or from one state to another state.
“Biafra is not about the Igbo alone but Biafra is a blessed nation of people with common value system.
“The public must ignore and stay away from anyone or group that equates Biafra with Igbo.
“The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is not for only Igbo-speaking people and will never be for only Igbo-speaking people.”

Names and language alone don't define an ethnic group. Do they dress like Igbos, do they have special dishes that's similar to Igbo. What are the norms and values of these people, are they similar to that of Igbos. These are stuffs you should ask yourself. There is a community that speak yoruba and bear yoruba names in Brazil. Will it be fair to call them yorubas??
YES!!!

well, I believe the "we are not Igbo" talk started as a survival tactics during the civil war...the SS Igbos used it to escape being killed.....

I'll advice dem to drop their Igbo names at least for better identity...When an Igboid south southerner is caught in a crime or any inappropriate act, he's often called Igbo as his name gives him off as Igbo...Major chukwuma Nzeogwu's coup was called "Igbo coup" even wen he's not from any of the 5 southeastern states.

Dear Mr/Mrs. "we are not Igbo" crew, kindly drop ur Igbo names, change ur town names or just any other thing that gives you off as Igbos ....I dont want to make d mistake of calling you Igbo...we don't want pple from other tribes mistaking you guys for the great Igbos....You've caused enough problems for us in d past, biko carry ur wahala to somewhere else
