Mbok my nairaland sisters don't know if i should be worried undecided
My dd has not slept well at all today, she will sleep but when i put her down she will wake up 5-15 mins later, we have been on the matter since morning, she doesn't do like this before!! once she baths she can sleep for 2/3 hours at a stretch.
Wondering what could be wrong
Is not colic either

Babies sleep pattern change. Mine was also like this. Before now, he sleeps well in the mornings after his bath, but now, its a little sleep at a time until evening when he will eventually have a long sleep

hello sabi mamas pls can I give my 2 weeks old baby gripe water because of her frequent hiccups and she is kinda restless too, I just pray its not colic

Gripe water made my baby sleep.

On colic, docs I consulted with advised I don't give anything as the usual drugs (infacol, nospamin and the likes) will only make them sleep and that when they wake up, they will still face the reality of colic. I actually used all the drugs I mentioned cos it was really a stressful period for us and we needed lo to sleep. It eased off as he clocked three months.

And my son used his own perfectly well though I think the product is slightly different. The reason why I preferred it is because of the removable activity board that comes with it. (He enjoys playing with it and learns numbers, music and co through it even till now).

My son prefers playing with the activity board than pushing the walker itself. She can go for the second one though because the safety of the child is also very important.

I can imagine. my daughter liked the detachable board too. We removed it for her as well smiley I'm sure your brand was more balanced. My niece injured her lip with this brand (got same for both babies) so it was after they told us that i concluded it wasnt just us. Kisses to your LO

Good morning mama's, my 3weeks old dd Is finding it hard to poo could dis be as a result of colic. She also seems to be having catarrh please what can I do nd he can I cure d colic. Please help a ftm.
I doubt if it's catarrh cos she is too young for that. My DD has something like that, as if she has mucus in her nostril, she grunts while taking d bottle. Read up on baby enter and was told it's normal. How long is the poo difficulty? It's also normal for them to stay some days without pooing. To ease your fear use cotton bud and put Vaseline, then insert in the anus.
Hope this helps.

Frequent hiccups is common and normal in babies and contrary to what you think, it doesn't hurt your baby at all. But if you feel uncomfortable seeing her hiccup so much, you can offer her breast to suck....It helps
thanks for ur input mama.

Thanks for the response, shs 8weeks now, at lest she sleep all through the night, woke up just once to eat grin
I slept like a baby too grin

As for the colic the infacol worked for her, her colic episodes have drastically reduced, she burps with ease without rubbing her back,my 3k no waste grin

As for poo whenever i noticed my DD does not poo i just make correct vegetable soup and she will poo fast fast with ease wink
doing enema regularly is not really good(the cotton bud thing)

from about 3 weeks to 4months, my DD was pooping once in 6 days...
I was worried at first but on seeing the paediatrician, she said it was nothing to worry about but I should always check the consistency of the poop to be sure she isnt constipated.

As soon as she clocked 4 months, she went from once in 6 days to once in 2 days, and now she poops every day.

You can't cure colic but you can manage it.

Is your baby formula fed??

Kai, that is serious oo. The first control for mine is very okay, it moves very slowly but the second control is fast. Well, he didn't use it for long sef because he worked at 11 months. And he actually prefers pushing tables, stools, plastic chairs and co to pushing the walker grin. But I liked the detachable board which was what attracted me in the first place.

@mompurity22 please go for the second one because babies' safety cannot be compared to pleasure.

hehehe... my daughter preferred pushing stools and chairs too, started walking at 11 months as well

My ds had catarrh and constipation at 3 weeks too. I used a nasal aspirator (hydrasense) to suck the mucus out of his nostrils and he was fine. As for stooling, breastfed babies don't stool very often, the consistency of the poo is more important. Mine had very hard stool like lumps which even had streaks of blood in it, very hard for him to pass, poor boy. His pediatrician asked me to put half teaspoonful of brown sugar in his bottle and it worked. I use brown sugar anytime I feel he might be getting constipated again. If she is breastfed, you can take some fruits and then feed her, learnt it works too. I don't think it's advisable to insert anything in her anus for now, you might do something wrong. She is still very tender.
