Wrong. Igbos don't hate Yorubas. We have more important things to concentrate our energy on to think of hating any group.

What exactly do you want bro. A lot of Yorubas are viewing this thread. I want us all to lay this tribal e-fights to rest. What do the Igbos want from the Yorubas.

Noone is stopping y'all and it's your land so I don't know why una keep asking us wtf to do.

God, you just spoke my mind. Honestly I'll love to see Igbos leave the West in drove. Time to come back home and develop it. Home sweet home.

Epe is full of Ijebus. I am Ijebu and I am Yoruba. Lagos is as much as Yoruba land as the other states you mentioned, the only reason why it is populated with other tribes at the level it is is because it is the Economic Capital of Nigeria, and it was once the Administrative capital of Nigeria where the federal government was based.

Nairaland is just full of bigots, but I guess people are revealing their true nature/hidden thoughts here. And its sad. In real life, I have lots of Igbo friends and these issues don't even come up, we live in harmony together like nothing's wrong. I only have one friend that has ever spoken about Biafra with me, and he's an IPOB member. We made the mutual agreement not to talk about politics. Why is it only when it comes to arguing about politics that you see people descend to the lowest of lows and call each other unspeakable names? Its a shame that we have allowed the elite to divide us this way. And funny enough, if Nigeria were a working country, if everything was going fine in Nigeria I bet you there'd be NO SUCH THING as secession agitations from any tribe. Most if these cries for secession arise from the fact that things are not going as they should be. Secession is not the answer, but a total restructuring of this country and a reevaluation of our political system. China did it- and it took them just 20 years after doing it to lift 600 million people out of poverty. Fastforward to 2017 and they've created their first completely Made In China aeroplane. And China is far more diverse than Nigeria. I know a little Mandarin but the difference between a Mandarin speaker and a Cantonese speaker is like the difference between French and Spanish, it is very, very different. China was made up of several tiny city states before it was united under Mao. So stop blaming Lord Lugard. He has played his part in history. Italy as well was once referred to as a mere 'geographical expression'. Study your history and you'll know the vast difference in culture between a man from Venice or Florence, or someone from Rome. But yet they've somehow managed to make their country work.

However, I am but one voice and my opinion is nothing more than a grain of sand at a beach compared to the numerous cries for secession that have gained national attention. If we really think secession is the way forward, then push for it. We don't know the power of the masses. Instead of bickering among yourselves, actually take actions. The IPOB members who come here to rain insults at everyone who has a differing opinion makes my stomach churn. Any observer will know that the IPOB members on here have an ego button that just needs to be stroked and they sing your praises to the high heavens. The last time Buhari was sick, the Acting President Osinbajo was praised and celebrated by these people, but the moment he made a speech contrary to their opinion they called him all sorts of unspeakable names. Really. What did you expect the President of Nigeria to say? That the country that he has been entrusted to govern should break up?? Sadly enough, many of them did not even read the speech. They did not read about his call for restructuring, or his call for the reevaluation of how things are dine in this country. They read the headlines and proceeded to attack him.

Sowore's article spoke about how the Nigerian youth on social media were a disappointment to him. He spoke of how he didn't see the fire within the youths to make a change. Like I said, the masses are the ones with power. Instead of making all threads in the political section about af*nja vs IPOB, the youths should be engaging in constructive debates and discussions on what to do and how to move forward. Threads should be created to battle all differences and reach a compromise- then push for the way forward. How many of you have ever written a letter to the senator representing you? How many of us have ever actually commuted to furthering any political cause? Ranting and insulting each other on social media does not change the fact that the elite of the society are getting fatter on our collective resources.
The power to change this country for good is in our hands and we don't even know it. We have seen how Nigerians have been able to rally round to generate resources for a cause. For example the #SaveMayowa saga. Why do we waste our energy fighting amongst ourselves when we can do the same to keep our elected officials on their feet? A country only gets the leaders it deserves. The indolence and ignorance of we youths has resulted into us getting leaders who take advantage of us.

But well, what do I know?
China did it because it is dominated by the han chinese. You cant compare such country with nigeria, a country with 300 ethnic groups.

See, bro, we don't hate you guys. All you see on this forum is complete reaction to your action. For example, one moniker complained of pictures and all, that, but your tribes men started it. I've started sending private mails in regard to this.... to end the tribal war. However, our position is clear, Nigeria has to sit back on the negotiating table to discuss the way forward, or we face referendum... this is the stand on the majority of Igbos. IPOB may want complete disintegration, that doesn't mean there is no solution to the problem on board.
However, stop viewing it, as if the Igbos are the only culprit here. Caution your tribes men too: You guys should quit interfering on our issues, and you'll watch the tribal slurs die a natural death. And I'm sure, my article on the other thread did justice to your question.

Nice one. We should leave you with the hausas I presume?

Yes leave us. If you are comfortable with the manifest injustice inherent in the Nigerian structure goodluck to you. We will not accept any arrangement that basically makes us third class citizens in our supposed country. I listened to Yinka Odumakin from the southwest, Mrs Valerie Azinge from the middle belt, Gen. Ike Nwachukwu from the east and other speakers from the South south speaking yesterday at Edwin Clark's birthday talks and they were all unanimous in condemning the present political cum socio-economic structure in Nigeria as unjust and untenable. Even Awolowo dismissed Nigeria as a mere geographical expression. The Yoruba have also being at the forefront of calling for a sovereign national conference to restructure the country. So my question is why is it then that whenever the Igbo rise up to fight against the same unjust structure as it concerns them, everybody wants to shout them down and tell them they have no right to do so? Well people can rail all they want, as long as this ridiculous, inequitable and unjust structure of Nigeria persists, we can not but continue to aspire for a better nation which to us is Biafra

Many new members might not know me here but i was a fierce e-warrior for my yoruba tribe on this platform that i got so notorious for my radical views about the igbos specifically. I had to lay off due to professional and personal commitments. I have however not failed to notice the continuous, unabated and unwarranted attacks on the yorubas by the igbos because of this biafra issue. This is a very worrisome development which needs to be nipped in the bud by seun osewa - who himself is an honorable yoruba man in whom we are well pleased.

I would say this only once to the igbos and i implore them to listen carefully. MOST YORUBAS ARE INDIFFERENT TO ANY THING THAT CONCERNS IGBOS. As a matter of fact, most yorubas hate the igbos passionately and are just being held back from unleashing their rage because of our tolerant nature and the respectful nature of the omoluabi. The actualisation of biafra is what most yorubas want so we can be rid of the influx of igbos into our towns and cities which have had serious implications for our culture and way of life. I would not belabour the point of how most Nigerians view igbos because it is common knowledge. At this juncture, i would say as a yoruba man {A christian for that matter}, that i am now sick and tired of the whinings, inferiority and persecution complex of the igbos and if i had the power, i would grant biafra before dawn. I am sure this is the prevalent sentiment with 99% of Yorubas. I dare say that if the online insults dont abate, we risk seeing radical yoruba youths unleash violence on igbos on yoruba soil. You cant be on yoruba soil- with the numerous attendant benefits- and continue to hate the sons and daughters of the soil. We need to be careful not to trigger xenophobic attacks by yorubas on our igbos brother due to the vitriolic insults being dished out on this forum. I know for a fact that a lot of yorubas come online to view the insults being heaped on them by igbos inspite of our hospitality towards them. I speak on my behalf of myself and and surely numerous other self respecting yorubas and i say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH of the insults, hate and denigration of the yorubas by the igbos. If igbos hate the yorubas so much, why dont you vacate our schools, churches and cities in droves back to the east?

The insults being heaped on the Acting President {Yemi Osibanjo} by the igbos since the biafra conference in Abuja has not gone unnoticed and is indeed regrettable. Prof. Osibanjo spoke in his capacity as the Acting President and a member of the Elite in Nigeria and could not have been expected to posit otherwise. It was funny seeing Prof Osibanjo being villified, annihilated and castigated by igbos on this forum who had hitherto taken him as their saviour in the face of alleged hate of the igbos by PMB. The sudden 360 degree turn by the igbos indeed goes to show that they are an emotional bunch who can be tossed around by whatever wind that blows in Nigeria's political atmosphere. The biafran agitation will be taken seriously by other Nigerians the moment they stop fleeing their ancestral lands in search of greener pastures in yoruba and hausa lands. Igbo elites too have to be summoned to table the issue of referendum on the floor of the National Assembly for robust debate. No amount of insults against yorubas and by extension the Nigerian state on the social media will bring about the actualisation of biafra. If the igbos continue on this ignoble path, they will never ascend the Nigerian Presidency and continue to be pariah in the Nigerian Political space. Constant cries of marginalization by the igbos is now seen as a source of comic relief to other Nigerians who enjoy seeing the igbos cry. It befuddles young Nigerians like me why such a big, industrious and enterprising ethnic group like the igbos have descended in the pecking order in Nigeria to the point where the ijaws are taken more seriously than them{igbos}

The bitter truth is that the igbos have burnt all the bridges they could have used to reach out to other ethnic groups in Nigeria through unbridled insults, malignment and desecration of other tribes and they will continue being 4th class citizens in this country. The Federal Government of Nigeria will not deploy scarce national resources to develop the east{South east} to the detriment of other geo-political zones. It therefofre behoves on the igbos to either get serious about the Nigerian project or be ready to fight the hausa fulanis for the liberation of the east. The damage has been done already and it is too late for rapproachment. We yorubas will continue to wish you the best of luck in your agitation for biafra but we wont sit down and watch our tribe being insulted and called cowards and two-faced back stabbers because we have chosen to deploy brains rather than brawn in the quest of guarding our interest in the dangerous and mine infested field of Nigerian politics.

Additionally, i will implore my fellow yoruba e-warriors to henceforth simply ignore any insults thrown our way by the igbos and lift our selves above such denigrating endeavours which serves no pratical utilitarian purposes in today's Nigeria. The responsibility to ensure the protection of yoruba interest as well as personal advancement should continuously be our overriding consideration in dealings on this forum. We should allow the igbos to stew in their own hate - an emotion which has seen them on a continuous decline in influence and impact in the Nigerian project.

On a final note, i state categorically and without no equivocation whatsoever to our igbo brothers that yorubas are not against the actualisation of biafra. Hcek, we would even grant the repeblic today if we had the power to see the igbos out of our towns and cities which would see to a general reduction in crime rates and other undesirable vices the igbos have brought along with them to yoruba land after the civil war. Statements of the likes of Prof. Yemi Osibanjo should be seen for what they truly are, the tenacious position of the Nigeria's rapacious elites who will spill blood to maintains their hold on the resources of Nigeria.

IGBOS, PLEASE LEAVE YORUBAS ALONE AND FACE YOUR HAUSA TORMENTORS.

Selah!

Wow...This is a wonderful piece of junk

History has a way of repeating itself. In the 60s our ancestor were driven from the West... lots of them left voluntarily, as result of Igbophobia, but your solders invaded, killed some and forced us back to the union. If only my brothers learnt from that mistake, our population in your enclave would have been minimal. Please, do your best, chase them, but make sure you don't spill blood on the process.... Though yoruba people are not against biafra, but yoruba people are also not ready to leave this country. Out of 10 yoruba people you sample, less than 2 will support the disintegration of the coutry while 8 will be against it. We have not even made attempt to leave this country before. Why do a lot of yoruba people resist disintegration of this country? They will always try to justify why the country should exist. You hear things like....america is diverse, there is strength in diversity, nigeria population is strength, blah blah blah. A lot of people in my family are not excluded.
I am yoruba but must speak the truth that the yoruba people are the least prepared for separation.
The igbos should better leave yorubas alone because yorubas are not ready and might never be.

Look, your duplicity is quite clear to most Nigerians. Who are the main actors in the present chaotic federal structure? Ironsi created a unitary system that was alright for Igbos and Ojukwu thinking the whole country was now firmly under their control until northerners kicked out Ironsi and almost immediately Ojukwu started asking for confederation!

Actually this is Nigeria of your forefathers dream, you should embrace it and nurture it.
Up till Jonathan was voted out of power the main proponents of one Nigeria on this forum were igbo and as soon as Jonathan was replaced, igbos started asking for biafra or death.

We Yorubas are not impetuous like you, we think and consider all variables before we act. Yorubas have been consistently asking for a restructured federation, this is a carefully thought out decision and not your signature testosterone driven and vacuous decisions that always lead to disaster on your part.
If you still believe Yoruba are the stumbling block to your Biafran dream, you knowwhat to do. Just put your self acclaim bravery to use and stop being craven.

What fucking history book have you been reading. Ojukwu kicked out ironsi and asking for confederation. Are you okay?
Secondly how did ironsi unitary system was okay with igbo when after he did so, he made every governmental institutions predominately northerners in effort to appease them over the anger about the so called "igbo coup" that we recently found out by the people that actually led the coup was not.

Secondly, I think I speak for all when we you lots continously blame Ironsi for the shithole that is Nigeria when that man rarely stayed as president. Last I checked he was president for 195 days, before he was killed. Last I checked 195 days is less than a year. Your fucking Niggeria is 102 years old and 56 years since independence. You've had 50 years and 5 months precisely to undo what he did. Una didn't therefore your shithole is a shithole because the country and it's inhabitants are nothing but ignorant buffoons.

Actually this is Nigeria of your forefathers dream, you should embrace it and nurture it.
Up till Jonathan was voted out of power the main proponents of one Nigeria on this forum were igbo and as soon as Jonathan was replaced, igbos started asking for biafra or death.

Lastly, you lots can keep on screeching this shit as much as una want. Just because una having been saying it, does not make it true.
Like I asked your sibling that screehed this early
What year was massob created?
What year was BZM created?
What year was BIH created?
What year was IPOB created?
Infact in year 2013, IPOB sent a letter to the president asking the president to divide the country (if you need the letter, I'll gladly post as they posted that same letter in year 2013 on their FB page)
Who was president in 2013?
Heck even video you lots have been screeching as evidence of Nnamdi Kanu "hate speech" occurred in year 2014
Pray tell who was president in year 2014?
Who boycotted the Nigerian election in year 2015 and told it's listeners not to go vote as it's not biafran election?
Just cause you lots keep screeching that nonsense in effort to make it stick does not mean it'll stick.

Lastly, yoruba have asking for restructured federation when you don't have power. This is a fact!! This administration showcased what HUGE hypocrites yoruba are as immediately the VP was given to una, you single handily became the biggest antagonist against anyone who wished to change the status quo of that country. Una are switching back now after the north have started treating your VP and leaders like crap. That's the thing about you people whenever you think you have advantage, you start being the guard dogs of "one niggeria" but when you don't, you start screeching "south unity and restructure."

Lastly, yoruba have asking for restructured federation where? This administration showcased what HUGE hypocrites yoruba are as immediately the VP was given to una, you single handily became the biggest antagonist against anyone who wished to change the status quo of that country. Una are switching back now after the north have started treating your VP and leaders like crap. That's the thing about you people whenever you think you have advantage, you start being the guard dogs of "one niggeria" but when you don't, you start screeching "south unity and restructure."

It is very obvious you are suffering from some form of dyslexia.
Does it matter how long Ironsi stayed? Does that lessened the importance of the actions he took and the consequences for the young nation?
Yes, this is Nigeria of your forefathers and you should embrace and nurture her.

As usual. When the lies they always narrate as effort to distort history is questioned, they result to insult..

So much for self claimed "educated".

Which nation has ever gotten independence by acting all cosy to their oppressors? You get what ever you demand from the world, no one who is benefiting from an unjust structure will let it go without a fight. Even Mandela as gentle as he is had to resort to terrorism as a strategy. Go and read the history of the ANC struggle against apartheid. Let the way be veeeeeeery loooooong as you put it. Was it not the same revered Mandela that called it a long walk to freedom?
