SEE INJUSTICE
What kind of Police force do we have in this country?.
Rather than pay the girl her money she spent more getting her put behind bars. Please someone should help stand for the poor girl and fight for her right.
Shame on the Nigerian Police.

This simply points to the fact that our justice system is skewed and only favours the rich. Now, after working for your money and demanding it when due, you get thrown in jail. Who is that unfortunate judge who requested 50,000 for bail from an girl fighting to collect her 6000? This is a girl who chose to work for her money instead of engaging in prostitution or crime. I am really interested in this case. Its so sad

The issue here isn't that the girl demanded her money....but that she did so with threats against her employer.

Once that happened...that became a police case.

That's too much a burden of bear for a girl of that age. Some people has no forgiveness in their dictionary. The rich always oppressed the poor

If anyone has contact of the girl or the whoever please make public here. This is injustice, intimidation of the poor and powerless...I cant judge or curse them but I am sure the day of reckoning will surley come for them.

Can we help this girl? We know she acted wrongly, but she should be educated and given community service. Leaving her in jail to perfect a bail condition of N50,000 is evil and wicked.

Why na?

The little peanuts I promise to pay my workers gets to them ASAP on the last day of every month. Yet all they do is disregard my orders and disrespect my customers at will.

Takeaways

1.Clearly, the girl was a victim of poor labor practice. There is a possible case for breach of agreement...the woman/employer clearly broke her promise.

2.However, issuing threats via text message....in this era of kidnappers, and so on (I should know...a relative was threatened via text recently...police were called into the matter)....is a problem taken seriously. There are better ways to resolve such matters. Issuing threats is counterproductive.

You are right. Though I am wondering if it was the madam that had issued the threat and the poor girl had reported the case if the useless madam would have been detained. I could bet on my mothers grave that nothing would have happened, because she wouldnt have been remanded and requested to pay for bail.

and who will arrest the boss for owning her I hate this country always bias and one sided
The law is the law-justice doesn't always have to be right.

While the sales girl committed a crime , a criminal offence by threatening someone, the madam did not, as wicked as her actions are.

Kids nowadays avail themselves with celebrity news, entertainment, sports and fashion but not the dire consequences of their actions.

Sending a text threatening one's family is legally different than if it were delivered verbally!

Lessons we need to learn:

the madam is not a good mother, the lady is young enough to be her sister why did you owe her when you can afford it? Will the lady forgive her for damaging her legal records? Madam ought to have think twice, there are many customers who bought cloths on credit without hasles

the younger generation, which include the lady need to learn to be cautious..........the nation is tense now, funny things happen unprecedented.......a treat is not the solution but she could have engaged the husband to plead on her behalf.

Mind you Life is not fair
How did u assume she knew the husband or even have his contact?.
The husband should have known better if he is sensible enough to pay the poor girl her money than getting her behind bars.

Shouldn't it be a crime if someone work for you and you don't pay the person?

If it's true that she owes her salary. In sane countries, owing every debt is not a crime but workers salary is.

There is a possibility that:
The girl did not work for a complete month before traveling and was paid to cover only days worked.
The boss did not permit her travel which was probably why she employed someone else.
The girl could have borrowed money from her boss and the amount has now been deducted.
Anyway, we should always be careful about who we threaten as not everyone takes it lying down.

No doubt, threat against life is a crime. But for an helpless girl like that, at least the system should have provided her with a lawyer who could have argued down the bail condition. it's highly unreasonable. Moreover, judges have the discretion to avoid turning a sane girl to a hardened criminal in jail.

That's Nigeria for you. How can you pay your fellow human 9000 for one month in a business she is active in? I'm sure the job comes without packages.
