Let me educate you very briefly.

Britain thrives on tax and so tax-payers primarily fund government expenses.

Now I bet you don't pay your tax, most Nigerians don't..

I agree that we're not saints here in Nigeria and government hands are terrible, the NCS inclusive.

But duty payment and remittance is one of few ways revenue is generated in Nigeria.. Oil isn't very vibrant these days.

As much as it may seem ill to you, it is what it is... If you ship a car to the USA, you will be made to pay US Customs duty on it, why should it be different here my name-slinging friend. Likewise, if you produce anything here, u'll pay excise.

Now if you buy a car and refuse to pay duty on it or adopt ways to circumvent statutory rules, and then the car was seized or you ship a vehicle into Nigeria and leave it at the port of arrival and it accrues rent, do you expect the federal government to give the car back to you after it's being taken from you or help you pay the rent your car accumulated?

Then there'll be no fiscal policy covering importation anymore and everybody will now want to do the same... It's even almost like that now.

Now the NCS are auctioning the cars back to you.. The general public oh... U're still complaining and calling them Bastards..

The more reason I called you a hypocrite. U're angry I called you a hypocrite but do you know the people you called Bastards? I bet not.

If you had an uncle or even a distant relative at the very least, you wouldn't have been careless with your tongue (fingers in this case)

Wake up fam!

But the other fellow is right. There's every possibility that these cars were sold to cronies. The site has remained inaccessible to members of the general public...and that's certainly not due to overwhelming demand since this wasn't widely publicized.

And before you start on me, I pay more taxes yearly than the vast majority of Nigerians.

What trash are you talking about? Do you think people are not intelligent enough to know all these? Why compare the garbage we have here with what operates in Britain? Merely seeing the statement that all other banks on their platform have interswitch issues except one islamic JAIZ bank should help you to understand the system we're dealing with - corrupt and dishonest. Don't you know about the Nigerian Customs? That's the area where YOU need to be educated before attacking people here.

It's normal with a new system. Servers can be overloaded. Just cause its down now doesn't mean it didn't work. Signed up on the fifth of July everything went well. Anyways I won a bid for a Toyota corolla 2010. I'm expected to pay 25% for overcharge duties though but don't mind. This is a good development, now everyone has a fair chance to bid. It's all automated so no one can influence it. It's all about the highest bidder. Uber things loading grin

Do you know the customs officers to have called them bastards?

Jaiz Bank!!! This is an handwriting on the wall! Their plan to islamise Nigeria. Why Islamic bank? I bet you'll have to accept their terms and conditions which will include that demonic T&C you see NL Islamic section.

I urge the eternally minded brethren to stir clear of this, if the only bank available is the so called Jaiz bank and you must of necessity open an account with them!

Nice bashing for the goat, if the idiot truly has an uncle/brother in the customs and such opportunity of car auction is announced to the bastard he will log in to take advantage, tomorrow you see the hypocrite cruising a car of N4m which he was opportune to pay N1.5m ,when you ask him how much he bought the car. Hew I'll be telling you he bought for N5m.

We Nigerians are hypocrites, once it does not have any bearing impact on them, they are good to go,once it's thier car that is auctioned that's when you see them misinforming people on social media telling you how custom officers are corrupt.

There are standard procedures as regards importation ,once you breach any of these procedures/guideline you will face the music, how can one import a 2015 model of a car and on papers it's written a 2011 model ,what do you expect custom to do shake your hands and congratulate you for short changing thout system ?

Bros, there's no such thing in their T&C.

Please learn to ALWAYS separate religion from business. Not everyone is a religious bigot who tries to impose their religion on others.

You eat suya, buy Dangote's products, but you didn't know that those folks are Muslims? undecided

Bastards, they'll seize people's cars and sell to themselves. No be only 43 Nigerians, yeye dey smell.

Why are we against anything that is working in this country ?
Yet we use every opportunity to complain of bad governance,
while taking advantage of the system.

If we import our cars through the appropriate route, it won't be seized,
but we prefer to cut corners.

And u honestly xpect us to believe that? Why rush to commence the auction since u know the only Bank available at the moment is or can not be widely accessible by more than 80% of Nigerians? I had to browse the net before i even knew Jazz Bank is in Nigeria .Sentiment apart ,they could have waited , and to say only 48 Nigerians won cars in 48hrs is embarrassing,i even checked d site and most of the items u have there are cars not worthy of our Roads, what happens to those flashy cars we see everyday?
