Why are we against anything that is working in this country ?
Yet we use every opportunity to complain of bad governance,
while taking advantage of the system.

If we import our cars through the appropriate route, it won't be seized,
but we prefer to cut corners.
No offence but I think those who cut corners always have it easier in Nigeria. Those who import through the wrong means always know who to bribe and get their goods cleared without much delay but most times, even if you follow the right processes, they will still ask for bribe and if you don't pay, you get delayed.

GOD bless you bro. Nigeria will be great.

Let me educate you very briefly.

Britain thrives on tax and so tax-payers primarily fund government expenses.

Now I bet you don't pay your tax, most Nigerians don't..

I agree that we're not saints here in Nigeria and government hands are terrible, the NCS inclusive.

But duty payment and remittance is one of few ways revenue is generated in Nigeria.. Oil isn't very vibrant these days.

As much as it may seem ill to you, it is what it is... If you ship a car to the USA, you will be made to pay US Customs duty on it, why should it be different here my name-slinging friend. Likewise, if you produce anything here, u'll pay excise.

Now if you buy a car and refuse to pay duty on it or adopt ways to circumvent statutory rules, and then the car was seized or you ship a vehicle into Nigeria and leave it at the port of arrival and it accrues rent, do you expect the federal government to give the car back to you after it's being taken from you or help you pay the rent your car accumulated?

Then there'll be no fiscal policy covering importation anymore and everybody will now want to do the same... It's even almost like that now.

Now the NCS are auctioning the cars back to you.. The general public oh... U're still complaining and calling them Bastards..

The more reason I called you a hypocrite. U're angry I called you a hypocrite but do you know the people you called Bastards? I bet not.

If you had an uncle or even a distant relative at the very least, you wouldn't have been careless with your tongue (fingers in this case)

Wake up fam!

This government has lost it completely
And of the thousands of cars seized yearly or even before now, they auctioned 48 and 43 bids were won by their cronies.
We know their game but Nigerians aint fools.

Lol. How a Jaiz bank with relatively few branches around Nigeria, suddenly became the first bank to be on the network, is still a mystery. The objective of it all is simple, to those who can think. Nigeria is just what it is.

This is rather a display of ignorance that's unacceptable... you have to get yourself accustomed with the constitution and act of NCS to conclude that they do not have rights to impound vehicles illegally imported... until you have proven otherwise you cannot condemn NCS actions of seizing cars

you sound like you know what western countries do right, but you are far from it stop deceiving yourself. Other countries duties are so miniature that no one even complains about it. Nigeria as a member of wto has no right fixing import duties for cars more than 25 percent of the purchase price. But in most cases you guys charge even 100 percent of the car value.
I don't know for sure but if you people are not killing businesses with export duties companies wouldn't be running to Ghana calling you people demons.

My point is that one cannot bribe a custom officer to cut corners then turn around
to blame the officer for collecting bribe.

Nigerians tolerate bribery culture then blame the receivers of bribe,
that is nothing but hypocrisy.
Before you claim that the bribe givers had no choice,
please visit a UTME exam centre and see how desperate
candidates and their parents tempt invigilators with various
bribes.

Do you think the owners of those smuggled auctioned vehicle were saints who
don't know how to bribe ?

Bros, there's no such thing in their T&C.

Please learn to ALWAYS separate religion from business. Not everyone is a religious bigot who tries to impose their religion on others.

You eat suya, buy Dangote's products, but you didn't know that those folks are Muslims? undecided

I really wonder who is fooling who here sad

I would rather you are objective with your point! I wonder how an enlightened person would compare Dangote Company ( a corporate organization, with no emphasis on religion) to Jaiz Bank ( Which clearly calls itself an Islamic Bank).

Please make your researches well before making comments.

It's normal with a new system. Servers can be overloaded. Just cause its down now doesn't mean it didn't work. Signed up on the fifth of July everything went well. Anyways I won a bid for a Toyota corolla 2010. I'm expected to pay 25% for overcharge duties though but don't mind. This is a good development, now everyone has a fair chance to bid. It's all automated so no one can influence it. It's all about the highest bidder. Uber things loading grin

Please what is the website address.

It depends on where you are. Standard Chartered is a popular bank but I am not sure its everybody all over Nigeria that knows abt it. Jaiz Bank has a Branch opp Wuse Market Abuja. They also have a branch in the same plaza/building with MTN in Gwarinpa.

Why don't you go do some research on what an Islamic bank is?

So other banks you are using, like GTB, Firstbank, UBA, etc, are Christian banks, ba?

The evils of religion on humans!
