Dragonstone seats on Dragon glass grin

Harrenhal seats on mud.
I mean as a strategic location in the battles to own westeros? As in battles among the living, what makes dragonstone more important than harrenhal?

You must have read something i haven't, because his motives has only been speculated upon not established! He is even rumored to be the financial muscle of the whents in the staging of the harrenhal tourney, so let's stick to facts, he crowned lyanna QOLAB and appeared to kidnap and abscond with her, those two acts aren't worthy of a prince, the rest like they say is history

Yes. I read about the Knight of the Laughing Tree in the books.

It would be extremely out of character for Rhaegar to kidnap and even rape Lyanna.

Think about it, what could his motives have possibly been?

finally we agree on something! Was that so difficult? Even the universally acclaimed to be bad Ramsey Bolton had his kernel master's daughter as an admirer who only saw good in him so POV bro, its all about the POV

My POV is Rhaegar The Dragonprince was awesome and didn't kidnap Lyanna or rape her. If he did why leave Arthur Dayne his most trusted confidant behind in Dorme and ride for the Trident?

On the confrontation between Cersei and Tyrion, she would overpower him and just as she wants to land the blow that would finish his life, Jamie kills her, as that was the only option to stop her due to her hatred for Tyrion.

Look at the map of Westeros again. Therein lies your answer.
I have, it shows dragonstone as an island at the entrance to the straits we call the sea of dorne and in the war amongst the living, how can it be more important than harrenhall in the bid to win control over westeros militarily?

Dragonstone is the castle on an island.

It's not a city.

You expect citizens to go and leave there? Then how do they eat or feed? They won't even have army to protect themselves when or if a Lord or the crown comes for the place. Sounds like more trouble than its worth.

I made a mistake by saying it's a city, Dragonstone is a castle..

What I meant is that, a place like that is surrounded by neighboring towns. and Dragonstone could have been occupied by different kinds of people even pirates, or people who just want to visit the place for site seeing.

Or do you think no one except we viewers heard of Stannis fall?

But If people in westeros heard of Stannis fall, some people will want to go there, even the Queen would have bestowed it to a Lord.

Like I said, I hope they address why Dragonstone was vacant in subsequent episode

Harrenhal is much more vital. Dragonstone is detached, that's why Stannis was chilling there while people were fighting on the mainland. I don't see how holding Dragonstone gives anyone a military advantage over someone holding Harrenhal.

Finally someone nails it!
Dragonstone's importance to Danny is mainly sentimental as her ancestral home chikena! There are other more strategic ports/bays/holdings she could have beached at that would put her within striking distance of kingslanding

What fun did he sap? Everyone's free to speculate abeg. I personally don't think she'll die in the hands of a sibling even though I'd love to see "the greatest Lannister killer of our time" do the honours.

Something valuable enough to make her turn her back on one handed Jamie. Tyrrion's head perhaps.

Not accurate. Dragonstone is the island that connects the Blackwater Bay to the Narrow Sea.

Because during peace and war, a deep sea port confers enormous advantage to Dragonstone. Since it is the primary link to Kings Landing via the Blackwater. You can imagine its importance to the trade and logistics of the capital. Even Ser Jaime said as much in the last episode that Dragonstone is the only logical place for Dany's armada to land because of the port (and not because it's Dany's ancestral home as someone purported here)

Howland Reed couldn't even fight or hold a sword. He was bullied by 3 squires younger than he was. . . .he was useless in the tournament.
Then Lyanna introduced him to her 4 brothers in a tent before she nursed his wounds. I think it was there and then that one of the Stark children decided to avenge their fellow Northman.

The Knight of the Laughing tree was smaller than most of the other competitors even smaller than Howland and rode his horse with grace (jousting is part how well you ride your horse)
Howland was useless on a horse.

Also the Knight had ill fitted, mismatched armour and a Sigil of a godswood with a smiling face.(why would Howland, a member of an established Northern house need a new unknown Sigil and carry worn out armour) The Knight also challenged the Knights of the three squires who bullied Howland and defeated them.

If the Knight was Howland, why would he hide behind an anonymous character?
The Knight was also a northerner but smallish (suggests strongly to be 15 year old Lyanna who rode horses better than most men)

Howland Reed couldn't have been the Knight. I strongly believed it was Lyanna. And when the Mad King sent Rhaegar to find out the identity of the Knight. . . Rhaegar reported that he never found the mystery Knight.

What if he did? And it was Lyanna and kept her secret because a woman. . .girl actually, couldn't enter the tourney. Maybe he was so impressed he just had to crown her QOLAB because she deserved to win something.

Hence the beginning of True love cool

Easy Landing.

Far away from King's Landing, hence she'd have enough time to settle in, organize her army. . . .scheme and send spies to infiltrate Westeros.

And she was born there. cheesy

Sorry fan girl grin

Howland reed was a good fighter, he was also a pacifist. Meaning he only fought when need demanded it! Kappish?
And he fought without his armor bearing his siegil because he wanted to teach the errant squires a lesson in humility without accrueing fame for himself so he required anonymity.
Also, he was at harrenhall rumor has it if jojen reed his son is to be believed anyway, on his way home back from the isle of faces, he was not there to joust or fight so the absence of any bit of weaponry or armor is thus explained. And remember howland reed campaigned with ned in battle throughout roberts rebellion and was at the tower of joy and Ned survived the sword of the morning thanks to him

I stand corrected then, but still apart from its importance as a landing port for a foreign army when invading westeros, what strategic importance does it have when all the armies involved are local i.e a civil war? Kingslanding can change hands many times as it did in the dance of dragons but how will holding kingslanding determine the victor? And is kingslanding more vulnerable to attack from the sea via the blackwater or from land?

But where did his skill to ride a horse and joust suddenly come from. Meera said Howland was a crannogman and I believe they are not very skilled in battle except when they took lessons which I'm certain Howland didn't take.

Yes, he fought alongside with Ned, and killed Arthur Dayne(in a cowardly way) but that was years later. Maybe he learned the way of the sword eventually. tongue

She had 8000 of them. I doubt the Sons of the Harpy killed half of them.
I hope so, because I still feel the Unsullied are better fighter than the Dothdraki warriors because they were build for it and the Dothdraki are only good in one on one combat and I don't think they have ever been to real battle before so they will be lacking experience + if the battle is not on land, I don't think they can fight up to par without their Horse on Sea.
