Now, who says there's no room for resignation which can also be termed as backsliding? If there's no such room, the word backsliding wouldn't find it's way into the Scriptures.

Here are some folks resigning from discipleship;

Decision to marry or not should be personal, by choice, not by coercion. What if the man did not want to marry but later changed his mind? You are talking about disobedience. Yes, we can disobey man if his instruction is opposed to that of God. Except the man was told to do things in accordance to God's word as contained in the Bible and he disobeys, then he is being disobedient to God and will face the consequences if he does not repent and do restitution.
