Victor Moses In Line To Celebrate Premier League Milestone Against Manchester United

Barring an injury or loss of form, Victor Moses is set to hit an impressive Premier League milestone when Chelsea take on Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on November 5, 2017.

If the Nigeria international gets some game-time in the next five matches, he would have made 200 appearances in the English top-flight.

Moses has played for five different clubs in the Premier League : Chelsea, Wigan Athletic, Liverpool, West Ham United and Stoke City.

The former England U17 sensation made his debut in the English top-flight on February 6, 2010, when he replaced Hugo Rodallega in the 83rd minute as Wigan Athletic played out a 1-1 draw with Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

Moses made 74 appearances in total for Wigan Athletic in the Premier League before transferring to Chelsea, for whom he has made 62 appearances including Saturday's 4-0 win at Stoke City.

The 26-year-old recorded 21 appearances for West Ham and 19
each while wearing the jerseys of Liverpool and Stoke City.

The right wing-back will join Shola Ameobi, Nwankwo Kanu, Yakubu Aiyegbeni, John Obi Mikel, Joseph Yobo and Victor Anichebe, who have all made 200 appearances or more in the Premier League, in the Nigerian history books if the milestone is achieved against Manchester United.

Sir Maidaboi.... you really don't have to be here as if an exodus has began... Sir Terzurum5's thread is the Main thread. This is just a personal project of mine..... And believe me, it was about time I started it. Honestly, I have been thinking of it since the turn of the new year, 2017... What transpired many hours ago on the other thread was just the act that triggered what was already in the coffers.

I didn't leave because my mum was insulted. smiley I left because everyone saw the foolishness of the insult meted out by bringing in My Mum and kept mute about it for soooo long. In a thread I call Family, I didn't expect that. It was disappointing. So I had to leave. I detest Hypocrisy so much.

Silence by all in the face of an insult to one's mom is the darkest thing I ever saw on that thread. Amazing. So I had to leave. The thread seems to have lost its value, code of conduct, and have become amnesiac (not recalling what one stands for).

I didn't Start anything until when my intelligence and personality was attacked and labelled with harsh names by the Rico dude... Amazing how no one saw this.... cheesy
No one saw this because no one ever want to see the truth as regards TheSupernerd... so all those with the lying notion that I started the Jabs or insults... I want them to take a step back and remove the shameful bias from their eyes and look at where The Rico dude quoted me and began the coated insults in subsequent posts to which I so playfully replied with my laughing memes... and comments on on Dr Lisa and dollopheads... lol... But hey...not that I expect them to though... their minds are made up and hey.. who bloody cares?.. smiley

Anyway, this thread have been in the incubator chamber of my thoughts for a couple of months now since the turn of the new year.... It is no Rival thread and I don't expect anyone of the old guard to come here... I left them. I walked out. I walked away so expecting to see them here is not on the agenda.

This thread is a project and it will have its own outlook and focus... If you notice I did not tag anyone to come here. I even put up a disclaimer. Please..... have regards for the Likes of Sir Joseph_1013, and also Terzurum and Orkpeky... (I didn't wanna mention them by their Exact moniker Spellings because I don't want them coming here as I am already being misunderstood... I don't want to stylishly invite them here....) because they started this whole national teams thread thing... and I will always adore and respect them for that.

I opened this thread because I cannot run away from a hobby that burns as a passion within me. I Love the beautiful game. smiley I love the story and inspiritional background behind Nigerian Football... I left the thread but I never left the dream of this new generation rising strong.

Yes.. some or several will come up with opinions and be disappointed in me creating this thread but that is because they think I create a rival to the other thread... they are getting me wrong. This is my Passion. Nigerian Football and her impacts and potentials in the Global scheme of things is something I Love so much. It is a very passionate hobby of mine. I am driven by excellence to achieve and be the best at what I do... I have my central niche which is Science and Medicine and much more... I am an outlier... but then I also Feel the connection to the potential greatness and Innate but undiscovered Excellence that lie dormant in our Football culture. I am an Enthusiast of the beautiful Game and Sports in general... I have read so much from the past in Nigerian football history and I have seen that this nation can rise to become Much more... I only wanna contribute my little part via information sharing to spread the light of Nigeria's rise in world soccer again... I only wanna share in the birth of this new generation that can go on to be golden.

It is well... but Sir Maidaboi... plsss don't leave that thread. You can enjoy the best of both... Fine people like GoodJoe, Joe 1013 and Icon4 plus a couple more still stay there.... One Of Nigeria's Brightest Youngsters In England Nets Brace For Arsenal U18

One of Nigeria's most promising youngsters in England, Folarin Balogun, bagged a brace as Arsenal hammered Reading 4-0 in the U18 Premier League at Shenley Training Centre (Hertfordshire).

Balogun's pair of goals against the Royals took his tally for the season to four goals from five matches in the league.

The 16-year-old led the Gunners attack and was flanked by compatriots James Olayinka and Bukayo Saka, and they were joined in the starting line-up by defender Tobi Omole.

Balogun put the home team 2-0 up in the 52nd minute after he was set up by Tyreece John-Jules, and added more gloss to the scoreline by scoring Arsenal's fourth goal with thirteen minutes left.

Bukayo Saka was credited with an assist for Arsenal's third goal scored by Tyreece John-Jules.

Olayinka, Balogun and Xavier Amaechi are among the youngsters that signed scholarship forms with the Emirates outfit before the start of the 2017-2018 season.

Charles Ezeh & Ifeanyi Matthew Midfield Combo Rated As Best In Norway

The Nigerian midfield duo of Charles Ezeh and Ifeanyi Matthew have been rated as the best midfield combination in Norway owing to their performances for Lillestroem.

Ezeh has settled down nicely in Norway since joining Lillestroem from Geelec Football Academy of Jos, and he has helped liberate Matthew who is in his second season at the club.

Norwegian journalist Peter Oli told Owngoalnigeria.com that the duo have struck a perfect understanding in the midfield for Lillestroem, which to him is the best in the country.

” There’s no way Lillestroem can keep hold both of them. Matthew is obviously way to talented for another season in Norway, while Ezeh has taken the league by storm”, Peter Oli told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” To me they are the best midfield combo we have in Norway at the moment. Their combination is faultless, they compliment each other nicely and that makes them such a joy to watch”. He concluded.

Abraham Scores Brace For Fulham, A Week After Talks With NFF Boss Pinnick

Tammy Abraham's younger brother Timmy Abraham opened his account for the season as Fulham claimed a 3-0 win over Brighton & Hove in the U18 Premier League on Saturday
afternoon.

A week ago, the two Abrahams, who are strikers, held high-level talks with Nigeria Football Federation supremo Amaju Pinnick over their international future.

On 20 minutes, Timmy broke the deadlock when he scored from a tight angle after he was teed up by Sonny Hilton, and doubled the Cottagers advantage six minutes into the second half, slamming a shot into the net despite being surrounded by defenders.

Born December 28, 2000, Timmy Abraham joined Fulham in the summer of 2017 from Charlton Athletic.

On the pitch Timmy is a carbon copy of his senior brother Tammy, he plays as a central striker and drifts wide when without the ball.

The 16-year-old Abraham is a first-year scholar at Fulham.

Chelsea Loanees Aina, Tomori Unhappy With Result Vs Reading

A late strike from substitute Böðvarsson denied Hull City all three points in the ninth round of matches in the EFL Championship at Madejski Stadium on Saturday evening.

Three Nigerian players Ola Aina, Fikayo Tomori (both Hull City) and Reading's record signing Sone Aluko started the game, while former Liverpool youngster Tiago Ilori was introduced in the 66th minute.

In their post-match reactions via social media, Aina and Tomori were disappointed that The Tigers could not pick up their third win of the season.

Ola Aina said : ''Not the result we wanted, but we'll build on it. Thank you to our fans that came down to support!▪''

Defender Tomori, who came close to scoring his first professional goal on 85 minutes, commented : ''It's coming.. not the result we wanted, but a chance to get what we want on Tuesday.

''Thanks & safe trip to the fans who travelled down◾️.''

Aina and Tomori have been loaned out by Chelsea for the remainder of the 2017-2018 season.

SEGUN ODEGBAMI DRUMS SUPPORTS FOR NIGERIA AHEAD OF ZAMBIA CLASH
By Gbenga Adewoye, Correspondent

The football icon feels the Super Eagles presence at the Fifa World Cup will impact positively on the country, so has charged Nigerians to back them

African football great Segun Odegbami has charged Nigerians to the Super Eagles in their quest to qualify for the 2018 Fifa World Cup.

The Super Eagles face Zambia on October 7 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium - and victory would hand them a place in Russia.
Chipolopolo are three points behind Gernot Rohr's men, and they would be hoping to cause an upset as they chase their first World Cup appearance.

“The Black race has a lot to lose if Nigeria does not qualify for the World Cup,” Odegbami told Goal.

“Nigeria must go to the World Cup and for us to go we need to beat Zambia.

“Every Nigerians must come out to support in every way they can to make sure that Nigeria defeat Zambia and we are on our
way there.

“Going to the World Cup will impact on every aspect of our lives on the economy, youth engagement so it is very important that Nigeria qualify."

MAIKABA OFFERS NIGERIA TIPS AHEAD OF WAFU CUP FINAL
By Samuel Ahmadu, Correspondent

Salisu Yusuf's men have struggled to get goals on their road to the final, and the Akwa United gaffer is suggesting some ideas against the Black Stars

Akwa United coach Abdul Maikaba has offered some ideas to help Nigeria defeat Ghana in the 2017 Wafu Cup of Nations final on Sunday.

The Super Eagles defeated 10-man Benin Republic 1-0 in the semi-final of the championship to set up a date with the Black Stars.

Though Salisu Yusuf's men are yet to let in any goal, they have been wasteful in front of goal, and the Promise Keepers' handler has given some useful tips.

"The only area I will advise the coach is to work on the finishing of the team," Maikaba told Goal.

"We ought to have scored more against Benin Republic when they were a man down, but we struggled all through missing the chances that came our way.

"Against Ghana, our strikers need to be calm and composed. They must try to score one or two goals early enough against Ghana.

"If the coach can talk to the players on some of these issues, I believe it will give us a perfect result against the Black Stars on Sunday."

The players Nigeria's Home based Super Eagles must cage in the Wafu cup final kicking off in less than two hours from now

Vincent Atingah: The strong centre back has been knocking away all the aerial balls from his area and has played the sweeping role for Black Stars. He was not coach Maxwell Konadu's first choice in central defence, but he made the position his own after coming off the bench to replace injured Musah Nuhu in the first game. The Hearts of Oak player converted the late penalty which eliminated Gambia 1-0 in the play off stage.

Isaac Twum: The offensive midfielder has played with his heart on his sleeve for the Black Stars and has become the fulcrum for the host. His drives and passes from the middle of the park have been crucial for the team. His early substitution in the match against Nigeria proved disastrous and his absence magnified his importance to the Ghana team.

Stephen Sarfo: The striker has two goals to his name thus far in the competition. Sarfo's work rate and selflessness, however, is his biggest asset and you cannot help but admire his determination to always win the ball high up in the opposition half.

Winful Cobbinah: The Hearts of Oak talisman has become the livewire of the team since returning into the starting XI after warming the bench in the opener. Cobbinah drifted in and out of the game against Guinea but he took centre stage when Ghana beat Mali. His moment of magic was the difference as Ghana took a bold step into the semifinals.

Chelsea Loanee Kenneth Omeruo Impresses On Full Debut For Kasimpasa

Kenneth Omeruo made his second full debut for Kasimpasa in
their 1-1 draw with Kayserispor at Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Stadyumu (İstanbul) on Sunday afternoon.

In his first action since returning to the club where he spent the 2015-2016 on loan from Chelsea, the central defender lasted 23 minutes on the pitch in last weekend's defeat to Galatasaray.

Two years and a month after his first full debut for Kasimpasa against Gaziantepspor, the Nigeria international lasted the distance against Kayserispor.

Omeruo was impressive and was very close to helping goalkeeper Ramazan Köse to post a shutout until the second minute of second-half stoppage time when Atila Turan scored an excellent goal from outside the box, which he was not at fault for.

The Chelsea loanee was not part of the Nigeria squad that faced Cameroon in the World Cup qualifiers last month but hopes to be recalled when Gernot Rohr announces his roster this week, having sorted out his club future.

He previously played on loan at ADO Den Haag, Middlesbrough FC and Aytemiz Alanyaspor

Nigeria coach Salisu Yusuf expects Ghana to come out guns-blazing

Nigeria coach Salisu Yusuf expects Ghana to come out guns blazing against his side on Sunday, September 24 in the final of the 2017 WAFU Cup of Nations.

The ex-international believes the side which converts their scoring chances on the day will lift the trophy at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.

The Super Eagles have the best defence in the tournament with no goal conceded in five matches and the coach wants to keep it that way.

“We have gone so far. We want to win and Ghana want to win and that is natural. The team that converts their chances will win,” said Yusuf.

“I know it's going to be a very tough game, but I'm optimistic that at the end of the day we will win.

“When it comes to the semifinal, final and quarterfinal, it is not about how many goals you score that matters, but how can you qualify - that's the most important thing.

“We score our goal and we defend properly, then we win.

“We have created so many scoring chances in this tournament, but we haven’t converted as many as we would like.

“Still, I'm very happy with the team.”

Nigeria will look to repeat their 2-0 win over Ghana in the group stages of the competition.

Ehizibue Scores First Goal After Extending Contract As Nwakali Makes Home Debut

Arsenal loanee Kelechi Nwakali has made his home debut for Dutch Eredivisie club VVV Venlo and it came against Kingsley Ehizibue's PEC Zwolle at Seacon Stadion De Koel (Venlo) on Sunday afternoon.
The Nigeria U20 international entered into the fray in the 74th minute against PEC Zwolle .

Former Netherlands U21 international Ehizibue stole the limelight from Nwakali when he blasted home from inside the area to open the scoring on the half-hour mark, but the home team got a share of the spoils thanks to Clint Leemans's 69th minute effort.

Ehizibue, who is being monitored by the Nigeria Football Federation, penned a fresh three-year deal with PEC Zwolle on September 2, which keeps him at the club until the end of the 2019-2020 season.

Nwakali's three appearances before today's meeting with PEC Zwolle were away matches against Blauw Geel '38, Vitesse and Groningen.

VVV Venlo, with nine points, occupy the eighth position in the Eredivisie standings, while PEC Zwolle are sixth.

Correction: Olamilekan Adeleye makes the starting line up....

Ariwa is benched... so it is an Adeleye and Eze combo at the back for Nigeria... Very nicely done Salisu.
