i have lived a long time in Ghana.. more than 5years! The steady light they have is powered by okosombo dam(that’s if I got the spelling) till after the overload and stuff the had to bring inadditional support from Swiss and all this for Accra n Kumasi... yea yea yea!!

Truth is, all this can’t even power Lagos, talk more of nigeria!! If nigeria was as small as gh!! This little one we have will power everywhere and change will remain!

Another truth is, even in the next 5years, we won’t have constant light.. sorry
the truth is, even if nigeria was small as gh, we won't do sh1t. We were once at the same par or better than ghana, we failed to support our failing system. You just said it, ghana had to bring in additional support from Swiss but nigeria failed to bring in support.. They are truly the smart people..

Another example, violence can occur in nigeria at anytime and we won't do anything to stop it before it happens but a country like ghana wud never allow the system to go worse before solving it.

Nigeria uses fire brigade approach but it is always late for us but ghana does not.

Ok bro. I may visit there anytime soon. Just that most Northerners here are considered inferior to the southerners. Most Northerners do deny coming from there after long stay in the south.

I went to Ghana on official duty and came back safely and l think l need to add one or two things.

The flight from Lagos to Accra is 40 minutes and Ghana is one hour behind us. At the point of entry (airport), you are require to present a yellow card. Most Nigerians has fake yellow card (They pay #1500 naira in Nigeria to somebody without taking the immunization and they know), they will ask you to do another one at their airport which will cost 7,000 naira or you tip them grin. At the point of entry, they asked what do l come for and l responded l came for conference and they stamped my passport.

CURRENCY: At the airport, #1000 naira= 10 Cedes. Naira is very poor. We can see what Jubrin has caused grin.

ATM MACHINE
I could not withdraw from ATM machine despite using mastercard and verve card. I tried on GTB_ATM, Access, fildelity etc I was later informed I supposed to inform my back before l left Nigeria about the duration of my trip but l thank God, the hotel POS works.

ACCRA to TAKORADI.

ACCRA is fine and Ghanaians are friendly. In fact Ghana and Lagos look alike. their road, soil profile, roofing of their houses, electric pole, selling inside traffic etc. We traveled from Accra by road and the journey took us 4 hours. We met some checking point and they stopped us once accusing the driver of overtaking Truck while on bend grin. I laughed in 3D because this is a normal in Nigeria. They diver bribed like our police brother in Nigeria. Also they carry AK 47 not like Europe where police officer uses Pistol.

TAKORADI
The environment is sparsely populated not congested like Lagos. Good vegetation,Good road, friendly people. Fluent in spoken English and Light is stable. They have their local language (either Asanti or Kumasi is a common language) but Ghanians are friendly and peace loving people (Nothing like he is Afonja, Flant-head or Aboki cheesy). The driver told us Nigerians are many in Ghana and we saw a lot of them in local market and traffic hurzzling. The story had changed, no more Ghana must go grin.

CARTEEN
I used POS for Breakfast and dinner in the hotel. I patronized local vendor (like mama calabar shop for lunch). The only food l understand is fufu with goat meat which cost 10 cedes.

Sincerely l would have love to relocate to Takoradi Ghana but when l told my wife she said "Laye, Laye baby mi ko jo grin". I left yesterday to NIgeria and l really enjoy my stay. Pls don't mind typo error.

It is not true that only Accra and Kumasi have light. Almost 90% of the whole Ghana have access to constant electricity. Their electricity penetration is second only to South Africa in the whole of Africa

I doubt if you really know the situation with electricity in Ghana. Akosombo Dam used to be the main source of supply to the whole country. The initial installed capacity was about 2,000 MW.
But Akosombo is no more their main source of power because the water level has dropped since Burkina Faso started damming it to generate electricity. Presently, Ghana relies more on power plants that are powered with gas and diesel to generate electricity e.g. the power plants at Tema, Aboadze etc.
Ghana did not go to Swiss for help. They brought in Karpower power barges(ships) from Turkey to complement what they have locally.
Their current installed capacity is about 4000MW. There is work going on for another 1,000MW power plant right now.

Nigeria is still struggling between 3000MW and 5000MW for almost 20 years now.

Divide the MW by the population of each country.....you would realize that Ghana is far ahead of Nigeria.
Ghanaians have some minimal standards that they have set for themselves and their governments dare not toy with them. Electricity is one of them. No party can rule Ghana if you cannot guarantee constant electricity 24/7. The power crisis that they had between 2013-2015 contributed to the defeat of the former government. In Nigeria, we have no standards, so any idiot can rule us at anytime and nothing changes!

Ghana is a very expensive country to live in, electricity is constant, sometimes you have light off, they have a very big language barrier for a Anglophone country, least I forget, the electricity is quite expensive like it will cost you an arm and leg to make use of A/c out there and one thing, they hate Nigerians

Very True. The only comment i have seen here with a 100 percent truth. The language barrier surprises me, and to think they are an English speaking country. They speak Twi a lot, so much that some adulrs can't even express themselves well in English. Their children included. You go to some shops and you'll have a hard time buying what you came for.

I don't say the whole population has this problem, but a significant number of the populace can't communicate well in English.

And the government and the media isn't helping matters. Almost every channel and programs on their local TV station is in Twi. Even the zee world movies and soaps have been turned to Twi.
