Patchesagain:it seems the reason they in cooperated the drone footage, its because the quad copter was eventually shotdown during the clashes (which we saw a boko haram member showing us ,which was destroyed)thus boko haram realized their secret was finally known, had no option but showing their new capability to spy on nigeria troops from above .the question now is how long have they had this capability and what is the nigeria military going to do to counter this new threat ?

History was made today, Wednesday, January 17 as two female officers were winged by the Nigerian Air Force HQ after embarking on a one-year training programme in Westline Aviation in South Africa where they qualified as pilots. They are Flying Officers OS Ijelu and GC Nwaogwgwu. They were winged alongside 9 other male flying officers in a ceremony which a former Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Paul Dike (rtd) was the guest of honour

newafricaken254:Notice the part that was "removed" is now attached to the drone? That's the camera gimbal. The highlighted part can be anything from a duct tape to a break...a bullet will shred that drone to recognisable pieces no just make a fine "hole" like that. I have gone over the video again and agree that it is a hole but where is the entrance. I couldn't find one and will partially accept the shot down drone theory. |

Speaking of mortars reminds me of a incident which unfolded last year during the conflict between kalaripayattu versus kungfu the army found out to their dismay that deploying a 120mm mortar up the mountains from the base camp required 9 hours plus 12 men ie dissembling it packing it on mule trains and then trudging along non existent paths up the mountains then unloading it and then assembling it. So somebody took a Royal Enfield 350cc bike modified it by adding 2 wheels at the rear and adding a hook for locking in the eye of the 120mm mortar . Now it takes only 1 hour instead of 9 to travel the same distance and set up the mortar with the usual mortar crew of 5 men's. Now in all high altitude nonmotorable areas man pack/mule pack has been replaced by this contraption at the price of 100 dollars (per modification) This is doable in the plains too with another vehicle with the ammo, if the going gets tough simply hook up the mortar and run to fight another day. 2 Likes 1 Share

Take a close look at Late Col Abu Ali in this Picture. Standing next to him is Lt Col Abdulsalam AKA Kutus. Abu Ali spent the last 4 Years of his life doing just two things, Fighting from one front line to the other just so we can sleep in peace and Praying while he Fought. Take a look at the picture Col. abu is in the scorching sun of the Maiduguri, sipping on pure water and paying attention to the radio message. Almost all pictures that came out of him, he was seen in this Armoured personal regalia, and in some pictures you could even see how dusty his hair was, how rugged the situation was. The last four years of his life was full of tactical maneuvers, consistent calculations on how to counter and defeat the enemy. It was a battle front all the way through, he had little or no sleep, he was away from his family for most of the years, yet he kept going and going believing in himself and God Almighty that he would someday emerge victorious. And I tell you, he was indeed victorious. He emerged a hero and stood out amongst the best. Today, the whole Country and indeed the world would remember Slim as a hero of our time, the greatest tank commander in recent times and like soldiers refers to him as Nigeria's best friend. Thank you Slim. You made a mark. You would forever remain close to our hearts as we would continue to pray for you. RIP Brother Rest on Gallant Soldier You are greatly Missed. 6 Likes
