Congrats, you are most welcome. Did you reapply or appeal the previous ECO decision? When are planing to leave?

Thanks. I took ur advice and reapplied. I didn't appeal anymore. Leaving next week.

.

Saving does not necessarily means unspent fund in a bank. Savings could also means fund that are avaliable to you such as stocks, fixed deposits, etc. If there a unspent fund in your salary account, this does not equate to savings. Your saved fund should be in your saving bank account and must be consistent over the past 6 months.

Thank you. It is quite confusing and I've heard different opinions.

Okay. Enjoy your trip. And if you plan to settle there, quickly apply for 5 years resident permit before your visa expire.

Hello Mr. Justwise and other members of the forum,
can you pls review my case now, Ihave re- uploaded the attachment.

It was unfortunate the ECO didn't read my cover letter where I stated that the said #400k was a refund of the money I earlier lent my blood brother( as evident in my statement of acct).
Going forward,
Please sirs I have the following questions:
1. Can I additionally( including cover letter) provide any cash flow issues in the body of the application form where additional information is sought??
2. Do I need to submit a new application or there is a way to modify the previous application
3. How helpful is the pension statement of acct in ECo decision
4. Any useful hints.
Thanks and God bless

Please list those documents you submitted for the application

Hello house, thanks for the good work.

I applied for a visit visa, but made a mistake on the date of birth and only realized it after submission and appointment booking. I cancelled the application by requesting a refund and commenced completing a fresh application. I received a mail that I will be informed if my refund/cancellation is approved...

Has anyone had similar experience? How long does it usually take to reach a decision on this?...can't submit the new application as I'm yet to get a confirmation of cancellation on the erroneous one.

Also, does a temporary visit visa holder in the UK has a right to invite a spouse over?

There is no specific time for that but I think they will make a quick decision on that.

You will find it difficult to invite your spouse over on visiting visa.

Hello Justwise,

Your balance in which account is low?

@justwise @ekpotek and any other person that can help.

Pls I need some advice in filling the confusing part of savings in the accessuk online application.

I have about £4000 saved over time from my salary income. It's in the same account where my salary is paid monthly. Do I declare it as savings? I know someone who was recently refused on account of this issue.

The person had some unspent money in her salary current account. But put in the application that she had no savings. One of the reasons she was refused was that she didn't declare any savings.

Since the money is not in a separate account you don't declare it as savings, as long as you have enough money for the trip that is what matters.

@Justwise please kindly advise me on what to do next I have been refused, The refusal letter states

You have stated that you plan to visit the UK for 7 days and that it will cost you £1800.As evidence of your finances you provided your UBA statement which shows your closing balance of 1,570,085.35NGN (3,099.88 at an c exchange rate of 1£ to 506naira..The Cost of ur day trip is approximately 58per cent the funds in ur account

2.I also note that you are single with no dependent children . From your application form and documents submitted, I am not satisfied that you have ties to indicate that you would leave upon the U.K upon completion of your visit.I am not convinced ur circumstances are as stated and that you ate genuinely seeking entry as a visitor, Your application is therefore refused under V4.2 (a) & (C).

In view of the above ,I am not satisfied that you have sufficient funds to cover all reasonable cost in relation to your visit.

I earn 320,000k per month

Hello @justwise and @ekpotek,

I have questions concerning the message I received from Sheffiled today. This coming Monday suppose to be 15 working days but just now I received this mail below. Please I need your advise and to know how long it would take them to write me again ? Or should contact them ?

Dear XXXXX

Regarding Visa Application: XXXXX

For: XXXXX

Thank you for applying for a UK visa. Your visa application has been received and is under consideration.  We aim to process non settlement applications within 15 working days (unless you have opted for the Priority Visa service), and settlement applications within 60 working days.

Unfortunately, the processing of your application has not been straightforward and we will be unable to decide your application within our customer service targets. We are continuing to work on your application and aim to make a decision as soon as possible.

We will write to you again if there is any change to this. Please do not attend the Visa Application Centre until you have been advised that your application has been decided and that your passport is ready for collection.

Kind Regards,

UK Decision Making Centre

Reduce your cost of flight and accommodation, look for budget hotels in the U.K like travelodge, premier Inn, holiday Inn etc. You will be able to get a night in hotel accommodation for about £60-70, hotels in central London or closer to airports are very expensive so avoid them.

Shop for cheaper flight to reduce your overall cost.

You don't need to add shopping in your list rather replace that was sightseeing and name few places you will be visiting while in the U.K.

When reapplying make sure that you attach cost breakdown to show the ECO how you plan to spend that money.

£1800 in 7days is high, bring that down when you get a better deals in hotel and flight.

Good evening @justwise @ekpotek and everyone

As proof of employment, must I submit my employment offer letter given at start of job ?

Or

Will letter of introduction from my employer detailing my position, income, duration of job and leave suffice? Together with payslips and bank statement

Also, I traveled to the UK in 2011 on a student's visa, at the POE, I wrote my uncles address as the place I was staying. We were not asked where we'll stay on the tier 4 visa form, we just needed to show we have enough money for Maintenance.
Do I need to put my uncle as part of relatives in the UK? though on the GOVUK site, the only options are for immediate family such as parents and siblings.

I'm booking a hotel for the trip.

Thank you very much.

Good morning @justwise and other guru in the house. Please I have a situation and I need your advice

My best friend will be graduating in July (PhD program) from Nottingham University and wants to invite me for the graduation ceremony. Here is my situation :

1. I work with state Govt and earn a little bit above 100k but as at the time of typing this (less than 6 months to the time) I have zero naira in account balance
2. I have an unregistered business in Nigeria with my graduating friend but I run the business and the money is paid into his Nigeria account. He transfers my own share into my account at the end of each month which is usually between 100-350k
3. I will be hosting students in Nigeria for an online course by a top USA university from April to June (people already signed up) and over 1million is expected to be deposited into my account by students (100 students) within 10 days out of which 400k will be mine after paying the school the course fees.
4.I was denied USA visitor's visa in August last year and I spent 3 weeks in East African countries of Kenya Uganda and Rwanda in November last year.
5. I'm married with kids but will be traveling alone and intend to spend 5 days. I will be responsible for the flight and other expenses but will be staying with him and his family during my visit.
6. I plan to have between 1-1.2million in my account when applying for visa

Questions
1. Will there not be a problem with visa considering that my opening balance is poor?
2. Is the monthly transfer from same friend into my account not pose a problem for me? (He has suggested to start sending the money to my wife account and from my wife to me)
3 Will deposit of over 1 million by 100 people within 1 week not pose a problem during the visa application?
4 will denial by USA have effect on the outcome of my visa?

Your response will be highly appreciated.
Thanks
