It can be done, you can even get better if you install aftermarket gadgets.

A/c overhaul probably like a 100k assuming you will be replacing everything
I changed just my condenser, compressor and dryer for over 80k alone..... Though in kaduna sha, lagos might be cheaper.

Hello , wonderful thread you've got here. Which would you recommend for a first timer on a minimal maintenance budget.

A Honda City 2006, Mitsubishi lancer 2008 or a Kia Rio 2006 (all Nigerian used). Will be glad if you could give your reasons for your pick

Boss Gazzuzz, I just scanned by Camry 2007 4 cylinder with my bluetooth scanner and these codes came out:
P0171
P2195

I noticed it's consuming more fuel than usual. What could be the problem please?

possible leak, possible head gasket damage. I am certain your fans are direct and your Thermostat removed because the operating temp of an unabused engine is the same with a/c or not wink

I would pic the matrix because of its ability to haul more luggage.

Oga Gazzuzz,i was in traffic yst and all of a sudden my temp rose up to d max n came back to normal and the car ll go off like the car goes off like that on two occasions buh I cdnt park to check cos twas on ikorodu road and I was still managin to drive it and when it goes off,i wil start it. Till it just stopped smwhere on the road.in my mind because it was starting and the temp will go up and come down to normal,i felt something was wrong with the battery cos when I checked the return reservoir of the radiator there was coolant in it,so I felt it was the battery until I tried to pour water at first in the radiator and it was taken it and subsequently I had to fill it with like 3 ltrs of coolant and I also washed the radiator and condenser yst.Now this morning when I started it the car was jus vibrating and I left it to run, am just wondering what else do I need to check to know if the car is in order...and my mistake is ds in 2 years I only top the radiator reserve with water,i don't check the radiator cos I feel once there's water in the reserve the radiator is

Loss of compression, and a misfire.
You now have a damaged Head gasket, and a possible warped head cylinder.

it is always cheaper to tow vehicle than replace engine.

Oga boss, @gazzuzz, am awaiting your feedback Sir.

Does Honda CR-V 1999-2001 has leg pull out issue? Is it advisable to go for it and any peculiar issues?

Thanks

Ops! This is a classic one.

On Honda, which model and year of this product doesn't have ball joint/leg pulling issues?

On Kia/Hyundai, would you recommend a Naija used one. If yes, which one seems durable and not too expensive.

Thanks

Hello there, Gazzuzz. Great thread! What would you recommend for a first car.

An 09 V4 Accord Coupe or an 05/06 C230 Mercedes? Both Nigerian used?

Private use, bachelor, maintenance budget of circa 200k a year at most.

Thank you for the quick reply.
Yes the thermostat as been removed and the fan is direct. Have checked for leak but there is none at the moment, how can I do a gasket check and how much would it cost to replace if that's the issue.

Good day Oga Gazzuz,

Thank you for the good job, which are doing on this forum.
I have this question about flood title car(s). I am about to partake in some auction in the US through a friend. I have this car that caught my fancy, recent model and cool piece of machinery.

The only problem is that it have this flood title to it, and the friend is telling me that its not much of a problem. He even told me that it can be sorted here in Nigeria, that majority of such cars (flood Tittle) are shipped to Nigeria daily.

As a professional, what would be your advice sir? Is it possible that I can be able to put this kind of car back to the road again?

From my observation, these sort of cars are attracting a lot of bid in the auctions. Is there any other things they can use this cars for? maybe spare parts?

Knowing Nairaland for a while, I know some will jump in here to insult my person. The truth is that all is welcome. In all I will love a constructive criticism. And most of all, I would love to hear the opinion of the Chief himself.

yes.

Reason, accord uses a fixed displacement a/c compressor,
and it is relatively cheap and very durable, transmission of the honda is not prone to failure, interior of the honda is better, the honda is less prone to theft and is hardly ever vandalized .
