Yes

Hence, it is safe to conclude this is the new normal.

Thanks for the reply.

No biometric mail yet o.
Though mine is saying ''We are processing background check" . I don't know if it is the update they meant.
Oshey9999:

@chisiudeh Have you been asked to go for Biometrics? A friend just reached out to me that he applied on June 7th (2 days ago) and has not yet been asked to go for biometrics. He received an email yesterday that there was an update in his cic account but upon login nothing was found (just like in your case). Interestingly, background check has already begun. I will like to know if any other applicants are experiencing this. Is this the new normal?

I hope to hear from you or anyone in similar situation.

Thanks

This is exactly the same profile for my friend. I think they we're referring to the start of background review. No biometric request yet after 48 hours of online application.

Just a question: Do you all think it’s better to apply through paper route or through online?

Which one has a higher success rate?

Home ties were my career goals in Nigeria. my parents/siblings and the landed property in my dad's name. Though he stated in his letter of support that the property would be mine on my return to Nigeria.

Oh! Ok. Those were exactly what i used for home ties as well. My application is similar to yours except for the scholarship part.

Good day everyone.

I want to begin my application process to 3 universities.

1. Will my my referees, who happen to be my past lecturers, need to write 3 letters of recommendation each addressed to each university or is it that they will title it, TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN and I make copies for each university?

2. The school where I acquired my Bsc does not issue unofficial transcripts. Can I use the transcript I recieved months ago while trying to apply for another university as a unofficial transcript to all the schools I'm applying to pending when admission is granted as required by the schools?

Thanks in anticipation of your prompt response.

1. For applications to most universities in CA, you will be required to enter the emails of your lecturers. The universities themselves will contact the lecturers and give them specific instructions regarding how upload the recommendation letters. So don't worry too much about that.

2. Yes, you can.

Are you considering saying NO ?? Don't do it , just be straight forward with your application and make sure you tackle the reasons why you were refused in the first place... My points though, I stand to be corrected.

Good luck.

I am helping a friend with his study permit application. He is going for a masters program self-funded. His maternal Uncle will sponsor him. Documents provided by his uncle so far in addition to his mum's birth certificate are; Letter of sponsorship, affidavit of relationship, SOA personal, and company registration. Please what more prove does he need to make this application successful? His own statement account and N3.5m T-Bill are included in the application, he also have study leave letter from his workplace and Deed of Gift for landed property.

Another question even though my first one was not answered (See below). I am submitting an online application for a friend, their is no place holder for Police clearance certificate, how do I attach it?

Please still need an answer

Hello friends.

Pls i am about to write my SOP and would like to solicit your advice on the following:

I graduated with BEng chemical engineering almost 13years ago.

Got MSc Petroleum Engineering 3 years later.

Worked as a Chemical Engineer in a gas plant for one year.

Thereafter joined another company as a Project Engineer managing procurement of oil & gas field equipment (although my employment letter carried Process Engineer as my job title) and worked there for 4 years until I joined another company as a Project Manager.

I have been in my present company for about 7months now as a Project Manager. The projects I manage are Mechanical engineering projects.

I recently got an admission to study MEng Chemical Engineering in one of the top ten Canadian university.

MY CONCERNS:
Now I have read about applicants being rejected due to wrong career progression.

My question is:
1. Would the VO see my applying for MEng as a problem since I already have an MSc in another Engineering course?

I really intend to get this Study Permit at first attempt.

Thanks in advance for your response.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by andre99(m): 2:53am On Jun 10, 2018
Boss you have a nice profile. Why don't you go for a PhD that comes with funding, but if you still insist on going for a Masters degree, you shouldn't mention you have a Masters already. Just show your previous and present work experience to cover the gap since you finished your 1st degree.

Hi Makano,

I'm a bit confused let me clarify a bit.

Applied April 20th.
Passport expires Late January 2019
Intend to travel 3rd week of August 2018 if all goes well

Case 1: If I were to be asked to submit my passport for the Visa stamp, will the visa validity extend past January 2019?

Case 2: If i decided to get a new passport before the Visa is ready, will I be submitting the old or new passport? I am assuming the visa that'll be issued will be tied to the Old passport but you say the new one renders it invalid.

Case 3: If Case 1 is True and then I get the new passport, does that in anyway invalidate the visa stamped on the old one? I am assuming this will invalidate the old passport though.

Dont complicate simple issue.

You can renew your passport when it has 6 months validity.

If you renew your passport, the old one becomes invalid whether it has valid visa or not.

Take note that, the validity of your passport determines the length of your visa. This implies that if your passport has 6 months validity, your visa will be 6 months too, not minding if you're going for 2 years program.

I would advise you find a way to renew your passport before you're called to submit it for stamping. That will save your money and a lot of stress in Canada.

Merge the police clearance certificate with your personal documents and upload them in the client information space!

geotherm,

Include the uncle identification Card (Int'l passport bio data page). Presenting a study leave letters for a 2 year and above program does not appear realistic. You can show ties to your home country through your career prospects, family property, family business etc..

Advice from andre99 is a good one!

@ lonelydude, I have seen applicants that have a masters degree and are going for a second masters degree in Canada and were approved of their visas, you can as well do same. But, your reasons for opting out for a second masters degree at this point in time instead of a Phd, must be justifiable.

Lastly, With your level of education and working experiences you stand a better chance if you go through Express entry. Being a permanent resident of Canada, you're entitled to many goodies. To mention a few, your tuition will be rated same as a citizen of Canada, you don't have to pay exorbitant international students fee, you can also relocate your family(wife and kids) to Canada without restrictions.

Silk07, was actually correct! The validity of your passport determines the length of the visa that will be issued to you. But, if the validation date of your passport is below 6 months, you will be asked to tender a new passport before a visa will be issued to you.

Good day house.
A friend just checked his visa application status, and it says "...your processed passport is ready for pickup..." as at Friday, 8th June 2018. He didn't receive any mail to this effect, neither did he receive any mail about medicals.

Please what could this mean cause he is already losing his mind.
