Thers are ethics in the health profession and the doctor should follow dem... Its not his to decide wether you treat a bullet or not.... It rests on if the company has such operational policy or not.

I haven't heard the doctor's side of the story but there's every likelihood that it happened. The nurse might have erred but it doesn't give anyone the right to batter a fellow employee, regardless of hierarchy.
He rushed to get a lawyer and they've advised him not to say anything, so he wouldn't implicate himself. Imagine how he would have denied it if it was a false allegation.
