He was a very tired president........ But refused to relinquish power, until he wanted to pass the Baton to Grace......... The crocodile was not happy at all.....

When it's time to quit......... Just quit.......

Sometimes, I just wonder if humans don't grow old and die, how would this world have been like?

Even the current president is also old... Who cursed Africans with old politicians that will rather rule than play advisory roles?... And you wonder why the continent is light years behind the rest of the universe... undecided

Depression is disturbing him. One should give him three years and he’ll bounce back.

He had already expired about 20 years ago

Age had caught up on him a long time ago.

Africa likes keeping old relics in power.

Once you're over 65, you shouldn't be in public offices at all.

There's so much youthful energy needed to take African countries off their current states - an energy old men cannot provide.

Not just youthful energy. A youth with a bad head filled with bad ideas is just as bad{if not worse than} as a 90 year-old geezer.

We've had several "youthful" leaders in Africa but what have they done differently from the old guys Not much. At a point there were guys in their 20s running some African countries but they were totally utterly useless. Jammeh of Gambia was in his 20s when he replaced Sir Dawda Jawara. How did that end up?

Don't get me wrong though. I am all up for youth, but the emphasis shouldn't be on youthfulness alone. Youthful energy with a "good head" filled with good ideas is what we ought to look out for. Nobody wants the negative sort of energy.

Age is really catching up real fast on him. African leaders should remember power is ephemeral, and you would only be remembered by what you've done.

Posterity will remember you either good or bad after leaving the seat of power.

Baba calm down... This is Africa... Even the society won't remember you for the good you did.. They won't write songs about you.. They won't even write nooks about you. If you wan do good as a Nigerian, just do it because it's the rights thing to do...

Like I said, emphasis is on "Youthful Energy".

There are men in their late 50s to early 60s that can provide that with wealth of intelligence and innovativeness.

Grew up mostly in the south south and I served in Cross Rivers State during my NYSC days. I know it's Efik, I guess I'm just used to saying it even though I'm a Yoruba guy.

Like I said in my last line, African Countries need to take off!

The US can run on auto pilot for the next 10 years, even Trump is enjoying that right now.

Developed nations can afford a cruise control, we are still very far from taking off the runway.

I'm not ass licking anything. This is fact!

If you were made a coach today in Barcelona FC, you may still win the league, but try being a coach in Leicester FC and see.

50/60 "Youthful Energy"... OK. Edit: More like "Retiree Energy" sad

You are right in one aspect though. We could do with the intelligence and innovativeness{if there's any}. I'll take that.

But "youthful energy"... I pass.

Just as an example, Osinbajo, Peter Obi, BRF, etc are in this age bracket and have this energy.
