As evident in this article, the problem Nigerians have with corruption and stealing is that the loot has not gotten to them? Many of Hushpuppi's neighbours have no issues with the source of his wealth, they are upset he was not generous with it.

U just hit the nail on the head!
The candid truth is this country's case don pass be careful! Average majority of Nigerians already have a corrupt mindset!

How things are going to change, I don't just know

undecided 15years ago (2005), I don't think cars were washed for #100.

There are people who pay you 200 to wash their cars. You may simply wash their cats in front of their house. Some people are very mean and again, that area is a poor man's area. At least 200 will buy you bread and beans or better still, an hour of browsing with 50 change.

It will blow up in their face very soon. Is just a matter of time. When it will happen their DSS and co can't save them

I doubt it. Nigerians have a high threshold of pain meaning that we can withstand any nonsense they do or throw at us. Our leaders know this. It's the reason why they do a lot of bullshit daily knowing that they'll get away with it. At worse, we'll vent the anger on each other not them.

Nigeria and Nigerians are a lost cause.

I would never condone fraud but i feel sorry for him,

Sometimes opportunity comes once in a life time,

Even a financial crime lawyer he didnt have by his side, all he did was steal money, flex, go back and steal more and flex and repeat like again and again .Surely one day, the victims will complain about their missing funds and the list will grow and a case will be built up against you.

Just like one of my friends who made it big here in London and wiped out 56 million naira ( 100,000 pounds ) from one company like that

I immediately advised him, omo go and buy hotel with this money, there are loads for sale in lagos at the moment, you can even buy 2 or 3.

The hotel will be bringing you passive income for the gloomy days, baba didnt listen to me ooo na Lexus RX300 2018 baba go buy.

Only time can tell tho

abobi, 53m for hotel for lagos? cheesy cheesy

Some people who spoke with TheCable said Hushpuppi was already rich enough to buy the street and turn it into an estate, but he wouldn’t.

A hotel on the street, at a time, was up for sale and Sikiru Adekoya, his close friend who was also arrested alongside Hushpuppi, was said to have called him to buy the building, but he showed no interest.

“What has all his money amounted to now that we can’t even point to one thing he did in his area?” one of the sources asked.

“The house he was born in was here on Oworo road, and now that place has been bought and turned into a car wash. I remember very well how Ramon, interestingly, used to ask people to bring their cars to the front of that house so he could wash. They paid him about N100 per car then. Just imagine if he even bought that space and turned it to a modern car wash. At least boys on the street would get more jobs from that.”
our entitlement mentality is too much abeg.

What really bothers me when it comes to all the yahoo yahoo people ,is the fact that they lack shame. Stealing is not enough, they want to make a statement by rubbing it on our faces. They must flaunt all their ill acquired wealth on social media for the world to see how “rich” they are.Yet they cannot show a legitimate source of income. It’s such a shame!

I have never seen a yahoo boy who's invested his/ her proceeds from fraud into some sustainable business. Why is this so, dear Yahoo Boys?

I wonder where you live cheesy. A good number of filling stations, clubs, car shops, off-campus hostels, restaurants and bars are owned by yahoo boys. If Hushpupi as much as had a homebased gf/wife, he would also use her to clean his money- I doubt he had any. Go to Lekki and you’ll see lots of businesses and luxury stores headed by baby girls. Many are fronts for some politician or yahoo boy. That is the concept of money laundery.

Not all these small boys wearing slippers with socks. Small thing dey done buy Lexus and iPhone. Be like one spirit dey control all of them.

Yahoo boys in my area are capitalizing on the pandemic situation by targeting USA unemployment benefits. They rake in huge and all they could invest in is new cars and weed. Haha. Some even posted video of themselves in their cars spraying money the other day. grin

I don't know about you, but to me, there life's not enviable as the ill gotten money are spent irrationally in a terrible way.

This has affected us buying stuffs from boutique sef.. Clothes that we used to buy for 3k-4k, omo ibo will call it for you 10k. He knows if you don't buy Yahoo boy will come and pay 10k for it las las.

In this horrible society, internet fraud is becoming a whole pandemic on its own.

Accidentally rich people with the mindset of poverty will still become poor because they lack the principles to sustainable wealth that is why the likes of Abiola will become so rich and his family/children will become broke.he was rich,he wasn't sustainably wealthy.so there was no how he could maintain his wealth

Check out people who become unexpectedly rich and aren't givers.they eventually go back to square 1.its an inevitable principle of wealth.
in fact your wisdom no go kill you.
