I understand what you are saying. I have taken all the points you raised into consideration before making my statements. If the governors choose to enforce the grazing ban, how will they enforce it? To the best of my knowledge (and I stand to be corrected) Amotekun looks nothing more than an advanced vigilante group. According to intel, some of these herdsmen are ex-Boko Haram members. They have fought the armies of Niger, Chad, Nigeria and Cameroun, therefore they are battle hardened and skilled at the art of guerilla warfare (although I concede that the northern terrain is different from that of the south west, however if they have spent sufficient time in the forests of the SW it is also safe to assume that they have familiarised themselves with the terrain). I say all these things knowing fully well that these herdsmen invasion are a part of a larger strategy at play. The Fulani have never hidden their intention to overrun the entire Nigeria and turn it into a caliphate state. They have been successful in the North West and North East of Nigeria. They have successfully infiltrated all layers and arms of government, installing themselves or persons who have pledged allegiance to them. They are skilled at the art of deception and they are very patient which is why they have lasted for this long. They took Ilorin from under our noses, no thanks to that bastard called Afonja and they have never hidden their desire to conquer the south of Nigeria. Therefore, given all of the aforementioned, if the governors really enforce their grazing ban there is every reason to believe that this may lead to a full blown crisis and I do believe fulanis in the military and in government will wade in to support these herdsmen in one way or the other. We must be prepared for every scenario. In 1967, it is said that Awo told Ojukwu that we, Yorubas, were the least prepared for war in the event that Biafra seceded, therefore he did not join Ojukwu to secede, he was right we were ill-prepared. However, right now I do not wish to hear that this time, we have no excuses. We simply cannot and should not sit idly by watching our sons and daughters get slaughtered, kidnapped whilst living in fear in our own homeland. I will leave you with this popular latin adage "Si vis pacem, para Bellum". It simply means "if you want peace, prepare for war". LegendHero: 5 Likes 1 Share |

kayjay69: Alright I understand you clearly and what you mean. I think in life, we might all have different approach to reaching a common goal. If yours will work better than fine, and if mine will work better then fine. The goal is to stop the Fulani herdsmen menace and make the states safe. 5 Likes |

AMOTEKUN and other security outfits should be well funded for the task ahead. Let the billionaires support peace for their businesses and general safety. Also on restructuring, what we need is a security structure that is state controlled and not a national security control room. Financial restructuring is also needed, States to control their resources in conjunction with the local government and a percentage paid to the federal government. 1 Like |

Restructuring and the devolution of power to the state will solve some of the insecurity problems in Nigeria. 1 Like |

This letter is thought provoking abeg. Alaafin has spoken well and at the right time. The kind of videos I see in circulation this days about Fulani hoodlums is worrisome. 1 Like |

privaldo: No tribe in Africa fought wars more than the Yorubas. It is a fact. There is no Yoruba town or village you'll go and won't find ' Ile Jagun' , 'Ile Balogun' , 'Ile Oluode' or their equivalents. The inhabitants of such family compounds or communities are battle hardened warriors and their descendants. A typical Yoruba person cherishes his peace because he is aware of the price paid for it by his forebears on the battlefields. When the push comes to shove, trust me,Fulanis are no match for the Yorubas. You see, when your Cup of iniquity is full, your folly will drag you to the wrong person. This is what is about to happen to the fulanis. I sincerely hope that Iku babayeye's advice will not be treated with levity. 6 Likes 1 Share |

ceaser: The Fulanis don't occupy only the top position in the military, they also have their kin in large amounts in the military. The case of CAR was more of a religious situation, than one of ethnicity or tribe. Also, the situation of most of the large military hardware in their region will give an upper hand in the event of any war. What happened during the #EndSars more of anarchy/mini revolution and not a conventional war. In the event of a conventional war, no region/tribe in Nigeria can face the Fulanis, this people have planned for this a long time ago. |

Sammy07: Biafra would have won, no doubt but the Fulanis received some support. Now, I am not talking of the British or the Soviets, I am talking of the Nigeriens, the Chadians, the Malians, and all other Fulani majority country that border Nigeria or are in West Africa. The Fulanis have the money to fund a war, that's one thing you don't understand. This guys will always be a deciding factor in the event of any war, who will support the Yorubas in Africa if a war breaks out? I never said the Yorubas aren't a major tribe or they can be run over easily. |

Grayoso: I wasn't downgrading or wishing evil to befall any tribe/region, I was only trying to be realistic. I have/hold no grudges against any tribe or region I was only trying to use facts to make a statement. Stop trying to make it a war of tribes, when we were only analysing available data, it doesn't have to be "me against you" every time. |

GeorgeTheCoder: Ain't you tired of this your " Yoruba Muslims" this and that ? It's stale already ! Can't you see that the 'likes' you so much crave for 'cause of it are not just coming ? Fulani herdsmen menace is not limited to Yoruba land alone man. You should be worried about the safety of your own people and your land too. That should be your primary concern. Would you also blame "Yoruba Muslims" for how this small fulani herder maltreated your kinsman right on his own farmland somewhere in Anambra ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pE8T879qZkk 1 Like |

OROSUNBOLB: What does the bolded mean please? I think everybody cherishes their peace, and won't trade it for anything. The Alaafin has spoken for not just the Yorubas but every other tribe that has witnessed attacks by Fulani herdsmen. If there is a thing I have learnt about humans is that they have a breaking point, and when that point is reached all hell will be let loose. |
