Start contacting the midwives now. If you have someone in the area you are looking at, have them visit the clinic on your behalf to request for a slot Flakeyy: 1 Like |

Also confirm that you do not need Airport health in Murtala Mohd to issue a fit to fly. That was my experience with Egypt Air in 2018. omidan21: 1 Like |

I suggest you raise a webform now or email and mention that she is due shortly. They will extend the request date and then baby can be added to your application. For me, I had an international trip so needed my passport. I got one month extension with no issues. Iambowcreek: 1 Like |

How easy is it to switch to Internal control/Audit with a CPA. I don't want to do Accounting anymore. If you could also give guidance on other finance areas, I'd appreciate it. hayor2014: 1 Like |

Try calling CIC to speak with an agent. I used to use an app which allows free calls via the internet to US/Canada because the wait time can be long. femcold: |

This is what I did: Before I left for the hospital I sent an email to AXA( The office that handles claims is in France) telling them I am.going to the hospital. I kinda did it to give them a head up. When I was done at the hospital I told the nurse to give me a medical report in Axa's format but she rather gave me a print out of the diagnosis and everything relating to the visit which I forwarded to AXA, including my policy document and passport data page. I had to call the Finance department the next day to get my bill sent to my house. It is not like Naija where you pay before service but AXA had negotiated based on my email with the hospital and paid the bill. PS: there is an excess policy of about USD100 on their policy meaning they would only settle a claim after you pay the first 100usd. I did not understand what the excess meant until I had to revisit and pay 60CAD. When I sent it to AXA they claimed the excess policy clause. evanehman: |

Just to clarify if you would have gotten PPR before the baby arrives. If you are going to land in Ontario, start looking at midwife clinics in the city you intend to settle to see if they will accept your wife. I used a midwife clinic for delivery and didn't have to pay except for some lab tests. But the pregnancy up to delivery should be without complications if not you get sent to the hospital and that means huge Bill's. Also explore pregnancy care centres. They may refer you to a midwife clinic/Obgyn which can accept you on short notice Runo03: 5 Likes 3 Shares |

Ontario health insurance commences 3months after you take up residence in the province. For me, I was going to be in Ont for about 3 months so I bought travel insurance from Naija(AxA Mansard) to cover me from any form of emergency including medical. If you are relocating permanently it will also be good to buy coverage for the period where OHIP won't cover and after that OHIP kicks in if you have registered. You do not have to wait till the end of 3months to go and register for OHIP. Once you have your applying documents, go ahead and apply. You will be given a letter with the date coverage will commence. I don't know how you will do it with a one way ticket as you have to put in the start date and end date of your journey on Axa's but I am sure you can work something out with the insurer when you call their help line. I bought the family plan which was way cheaper compared to other insurance companies. jjohndoe83: 15 Likes 14 Shares |

She should get insurance before she travels. I used AXA Mansard and bought their family insurance. It cost me about N22k for a family of 3 for 3months (costs depends on their ages though). She should buy it o. My son had to go into emergency care two weeks after we landed and I wasn't bothered because I had insurance. I would have been charged $500 even ontop my PR status because I did not have Ontario Health insurance. If she is going to Alberta I believe provincial insurance cover starts from.day 1 so she should not bother IMO. Nono16: 26 Likes 24 Shares |
