Sincerely, I did not read your write up. I only scanned it for one name which I did not see. Allison Madueke. Until this govt investigates and prosecutes her, then I will want to hear more of what they are 'seemingly' doing. Some of the names of the people you mentioned are not familiar to me but anyone who followed the subsidy saga kept hearing one name. Allision Madueke. Kindly tell the EFCC to do that first.

X-factoria:

Till date, I am not aware that anyone has leveled corruption against him. He has not been a guest of EFCC yet so give him a benefit of doubt and support his fight against corruption.

This is the problem with many of us who mouth change and lament corruption in Nigeria. When we see people trying their best to expose corrupt practices, we begin to doubt their motives and run them down.

Does it matter if he is doing it for popularity or whatever as long as he is actually making valid allegations? Does it matter where he is coming from (whether he used to be one of them or not) as long as he is helping us to see where to channel our aggression? Does it matter if he hasn't picked on everyone else yet as long as those he has picked on are not innocent?

We are just a bunch of hypocrites in this country!
X-factoria:

You are one of the hopeless people I'm talking about! Why shouldn't we turn to the West? You said they love corrupt leaders but Ibori is in prison today thanks to the UK government. What is wrong in Dina reaching out to the US for help if he finds no hope in our corruption laden law enforcement agencies and the judiciary?

Dino is doing it the way he knows best and at least, he is doing something. What have you done other than coming on the internet to spew rubbish about what someone else is doing?

Knowing that there are still people who think this way gladdens my heart. The important thing is that someone backed his words with actions. His protest might not amount to much today, but it is a good step. He might even have some personal motives, but as someone said earlier, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. I have said it before and will continue to say it, I lost it for this govt cos of Allison. The least the govt should have done is at least PRETEND to probe her given all the huge allegations. Even that is a start.

Ayo, I no bone you oo. I have never really been active on this thread. Plus since I am relatively new on forex, I decided that it might be better to develop my own system independent of other peoples own. That way I do not keep jumping at every signal and making mistakes. As for politics, most times for me, its just better to read and not comments. But I am cool, I just generally follow/listen in silence most times. Thanks. You know I can always count on you to answer my wonderful questions.

Birikiti:

Like OliverPin said I believe what happened was that the spread on the GBJ pair was what triggered your pending order. Simply said, the difference from 156.677 (highest price) to 156.734 (your entry point) is 5.7 pips and not 57 pips. The last digit is 1/10 of a pip! So if the spread by your broker on GBJ is, say 6 pips, your pending order would be triggered when the price gets to 156.674!

Hopefully, I explained well.
Thanks. Been using this broker for almost a year now and this month is the first time to experience this. The first time it happened, there was a difference of about 40pips, not 4pips mind you. They tried to pass it off a gap but were unable to point out the said gap as there was none. Anyways, I shouldn't have pending orders 30mins before and after a major news release. Lesson well learnt. Thanks a lot.
Business / Re: Forex Trading - Season 13 by Rhapsody1(f): 3:39pm On May 13, 2013
OliverPin: in such cases, your trade triggers before the actual figures. depends on spreads. i guess you gj spreads is more than 4pips. nothing strange "if am not wrong grin
That has not been my experience until recently. Thought your price will be breached before the spread is applied and not spread triggering a position. In both cases, it was during a major news release so I guess I shouldn't be having any pending order before a major news, esp for usd and euro. Thanks a lot. I appreciate.

Hi guys. Could someone help me out with the answer to a question. Twice now in less than 2weeks, positions I had pending orders for opened without getting to that price. Like today, I had a pending order for GJ, buy at 156.734, and was surprised to see that position opened even though my pending price was not breeched. The highest price was 156.677. The previous one had almost 40pips difference, and yet that position opened. I use Exnessmeta trader. How do you explain that? I will contact them of course, but given their response the last time, I am not holding my breath. Has anyone experienced such? How do you explain it?
Crime / Re: Girl Stabs Her Classmate To Death For Attempted Rape by Rhapsody1(f): 1:36pm On May 13, 2013
This case is very simple to investigate. Confirm from neighbours and friends of both the girl and the guy that they really were not dating. Autopsy report should reveal if the guy was intoxicated, with what and by how much to ascertain the drunk claim. There should be defensive wounds on the girl to confirm her struggle from being r aped. Such wounds should also be found on the dead body. With all this and a good lawyer, she can be home free. That is of course in a sane society. I personally consider r ape the worst crime against a female.
The girl will need therapy too. Sure she has learnt her lesson.

I guess I understand where you are coming from. Any right thinking person will also support subsidy removal. However, answer the following questions for me:
how has the money from the partial removal been used? How has it been utilized? I will need definite facts and figures. Who and who has been prosecuted and convicted for the previous subsidy fraud? How much is fuel in your area presently (l pay 120)? Why is Allison still heading that ministry? The president said last year that by June 2012, Nigerians will thank him for the partial subsidy removal, would you say that happened? From the way the partial removal was done and all the drama that followed, would you say an average Nigerians can still trust and support the president for total removal of subsidy knowing that justice will be done and the money realized properly used?
I await your response.
For the supporters of full deregulation, the easiest, fastest, and simplest way to shut up the mouth of the 'myopic citizens' who want otherwise is to provide the definite answers to the questions raised in the quote above. After that satisfactory answer, I will personally padlock their mouths for them. Anyone?

SURE P was meant to address noise makers, its politics, as far as I am concerned, the big picture is what I am interested in.
So basically, you do not wish to answer those questions because it punctures your argument. You see, you may be living above average, so the hardship of most Nigerians is foreign to you. I put it to you that if the questions I raised had been reasonably taken care of by this govt, peeps will have been begging for totally deregulation. But they are there, and you wonder why peeps are 'too myopic' to see the benefits of complete deregulation.
BTW, even though I have heard of the SURE P thing, I am more interested in the topic at hand.

Lets be pessimistic and also ask, how has the money from the telecoms licences paid been used..$285 million per operator that time....you do not cut your nose to spite your face....
its like saying because people are going to eat the $285 million, hence stop deregulation of telecoms sector and rely on Nitel....
I have said it before that the main thing that puts me off this forum is the lack of objectivity of most users. You may be a GEJ fan and still truthfully answer my questions. It does not equal disloyality.
The answers to my question will reveal why people are truly for or against the removal. So may I have those answers now. Just pretend I am a high schooler and answer me.

You seem to forget that the subsidy itself is a fraud...
Our system of governance is built on providing subsidy for able bodied human beings...we have decide to take the small money we have and generally encourage the masses to wallow in laziness...and you people are indirectly defending such a system...

If subsidy did not exist...there whould be no subsidy fraud...forget the politics of SURE-P and think straight for once...
The best functions of a government are regulations, if we insist that the government should run our lives then we should be prepared to also live with the associated corruption that is involved in such sillyness.
I have already said that I get you point. And even agree with them. But you have not answered the questions I raised. Please address them. Thank you.

Derugulation should mean governments gets out of the business of distributing products and competing with the business man on the downstream sector...
It should mean that people can invest in refining in country
it should mean that Nigeria should tend towards less exportation of raw crude to exportation of refined products, thus add value and jobs to the economy,
it should mean govt will cut the high overhead and recurrent expenduture spent in managing this services.
It should mean more competition in that sector...

All these thrown away because we want someone else to pay the price of crude for us?
Its a real pity

And what sweeping development did Tinubu do in Lagos?

Look, get me right. I am not really an Alams person. He is a good guy but I do not agree with his style of doing good. He thinks like that Adelabu guy from Ibadan. But my point is, he has done a lot for Niger Delta people. Different regions have different kind of needs. The immediate need of some ND areas like Bayelsa is not infrastruture but to get people off the streets and the creeks. Of course, the bigger picture is to build serious infrastruture. If you think he doesn't deserve pardon, I think you have some point. But what you can't fault is that this man has done a lot of good for ND and subsequently, Nigeria
Was it impossible for the govt to continue to quietly encourage him to keep doing the purported good he is and/or was doing without insulting the nation with this pardon? He must be given a state pardon to be encouraged to do more? That doesn't seem like repentance and patriotism to me. A nation is supposed to be bigger than her citizen. Apparently in some nations, certain individuals come before the nation. The question is not his repentance or kindness or influence, it is the pardon. It is not justifiable to any decent person.

Why do you think we have a lot of people, public servants and otherwise choosing corrupt practices? Primarily, because of this kind of mindset. A lot, a whooping lot are still walking free, blatantly doing more. Until we condemn what is wrong, make it despised and unattractive, then those things and worse even will still happen. And continues to happen. And continue to happen. And continueing to happen. Please pardon my bad grammar, its just for emphasis. And with each occurrence, we can always give excuses and justification about thwarting whys, how Alams was set up, poor poor Alams who was victimized, how he is loved by the militants, how so an so president pardoned so and so, why ex convicts should hold public offices, etc. As long as we keep giving room for justifications and excuses, development in Nigeria may still be light years away.
