peeps4u:Each time I remember this thread or come here, I just say "Chai". I remember when and how this thread started and the constant attacks from the established car dealers. This thread was a glimpse of hope to the ordinary man that they could afford a Tokunbo car without breaking the bank. Naija has indeed happened to this thread, it doesn’t even make any economic sense to import cars for sale, it doesn’t make any economic sense to even buy a Tokunbo car as purchasing power of the populace has been reduced, Infact majority of the folks are on survival mode (food, education and housing). Import duties has tripled Petrol price has tripled Exchange rate has tripled May God help Nigeria 5 Likes |

Kindly provide more details about your question... E.g Do u mean that your current lease has expired and the landlord wants to increase the rent? In Ontario, there is something called rent control. The Ontario rent increase guideline for 2024 is 2.5%. The guideline is the maximum a landlord can increase most tenants’ rent during a year without the approval of the Landlord and Tenant Board. For most tenants, your rent can’t go up by more than the rent increase guideline for every year. The guideline does not apply to: new buildings, additions to existing buildings and most new basement apartments that are occupied for the first time for residential purposes after November 15, 2018 NuCypher: 4 Likes |

izibili44:At this point I give up, you seem to have everything covered from your end. The plan has been set rolling and there’s nothing anyone here can tell you to make you abort the plan. But one last question, what do you intend for the person to be doing while waiting for admission (September 2024)? Wishing you and the fellow all the best in this journey. |

izibili44:Pls abort this plan… I know it’s a bitter pill to swallow but he is better off staying back in Nigeria and doing the right thing. Coming to Canada with a visitor visa without any form of support is a big 🚩…. Pls abort, tell the young man to chill and do the right thing except you have 50k cad (Airbnb accommodation, feeding, phone bill and admission processing) to give him when he’s leaving Nigeria 3 Likes |

Hi guys, a friend submitted her study permit application in November and included an upfront medical result. He just got a message from IRCC requesting medicals. Does he need another medical since the initial medical was carried out in October last year and should still be valid? |

Twostep:Truck driving is quite lucrative and in demand in Canada. If that’s the path u want to tow, I would suggest that u do the following: 1. learn how to drive a truck in Nigeria 2. get a Nigerian truck drivers license 3. Once u land in Canada, go to any of the truck driving schools, enroll for driving classes and apply for Ontario truck drivers license 4. With all other things being equal, you should have a truck job waiting for you after you complete this process. 8 Likes 1 Share |

lamine yamal was involved in the last 3 goals. The lad has tricks up his sleeves, is full of confidence and is not afraid of taking on defenders. He has an eye for picking out good passes behind the defender's space. Thumbs up to the attacking youngsters (Abde, Lopez, Ansu, Ferran and Lamine) |

rmx: You are right at the bolded, there are so many factors to consider before embarking on buying a gas generator. Power generation is a long term investment where one might take circa 4years to break even. |

topsy23:Yes it is, hence Power biz is not for the faint hearted. U need a deep pocket (most banks would not finance a power project due to the regulatory bottlenecks) and connections at high places. Before I left Nigeria, I was doing the ground works of building another power plant in Lekki axis. I am sure some of the costs I had use for the project financial analysis must have skyrocketed by Atleast 50% ( Forex 70% of your materials would be imported, clearing costs, regulatory approval costs, inflation, finance cost, staff costs etc) |

sonnie10: I used to work in a IPP in Lekki, Lagos. I was in charge of client relations, compliance mgnt and investment management. To set up a 1mw IPP, u need a minimum of 1m usd. I worked on various financial models and I still have some of them handy. Power business is not for the faint hearted. Generation is one thing ( the IPP i worked with used CNG - Compressed Natural Gas) Gas supply - u need to sign contracts with the big gas suppliers (Gasco marine etc) Distribution - Distributing power from the power plant to the customers (estates, malls, schools etc) who’s gonna bear those costs. For distribution, u have to lay cables underground from the plant ( u will deal with LASIMRA etc) If you are interested in setting up a power plant, you can reach out to me… I can give u a detailed breakdown of both project & financial analysis as well as seasoned contractors and Coys u can partner with. 2 Likes

What’s the best way to approach this scenario!! A friend has gotten admission into a Canadian college. Her dad is late and she’s being sponsored by her guardian who is based in the USA. The guardian has been responsible for her education for the past 5 years in Nigeria and has paid 70% of the Canadian tuition fees using his credit card and is willing to also drop his bank statements, notarized letter of sponsorship, employment letter etc. However, he is not willing to send the pof and balance of school fees to the student nigerian bank account due to nigeria foreign exchange issues. What is the best way to go about the visa application to proof that he is obligated to make all the necessary funds available to her? Asides the notarized letter of sponsorship, evidence of payment of fees from his American bank account, what other docs should he provide to help solidify the application? @ShowYoung @macsilver @bullstriker and every other member. |

brandon180:Tbh, I think Xavi has tried giving the resources at his disposal and the circumstances facing the club (Messi’s exit, aging key players-pique, basquets and Alba. In terms of gameplay, he managed to steer the team into a midfield 4 when his left wingers (fati & Terran) were firing blanks or getting injured and also needing to provide cover for the aging basquets. He did this by playing to the strength and agility of Gavi. I also like the way he improved the confidence of Balde, by dropping a regular first team player in Alba. In terms of tactics, I would score him average… he doesn’t tinker with the squad to play different dimensions of football based on the opponents case in point ( inter and Man U). I expected him to have done much better in terms of tactics in those matches. Overall I would rate him a 7/10 for the following reasons: 1. Defensive stability conceding the least goals in laliga 2. Adapting to a 4 man midfield 3. Improving confidence and performance of Balde 4. Managing to go on a winning streak when his keys players got injured during the season ( christensen, Dembele, Araujo, pedri etc) 5. Putting the fear factor in our rival (Madrid) with those major victories. 6. Winning the la Liga title in his 2nd season. 6 Likes |
