Please how do I find out the tier of my university? My university is Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka (Unizik).
it's a tier 2 as well.
your qualification is regarded as an Associate if it's a 4 year course from NAU while 5 year course and above is considered a bachelors.
Tier 1 - OAU, UI, Unilag and FUTA
Tier 2 - all other uni

Ok, thank you. I plan to go through the postgraduate route. But my challenge is if I can get a school with cheaper fees. I studied Education Political science. I plan to go for a Master's in health or a course in climate change. Any advice on that? Please.

What if I enrol in a vocational school here to acquire any of those skills. Can I use the certificate to apply?
you can use it but you will still need work experience documents.

Thanks for the feedback. I gave it a good read. I'm actually more of an internal consultant to the company in employed in, and I saw the criteria that must be achieved for that nature of work. I think a better fit will be Organisation and Methods Analyst (224712). I went through the requirements and it's in closer alignment with what I do, but it will limit me to 190 or 491. Can't do 189 for organisation and methods analyst.

Please, I need more clarification on this. Why will my years of experience be deducted? Will it not affect my points aggregation?
That's why it's always good to check the information sheet.
224712 may be your best option.

The deduction is bacause your first degree was not management related.

Glad to make my first post here.

I read the first 60 pages of the thread and I must admit I learnt so much on how to process this PR visa oneself. Moved to page 100 and also read a few pages, did same for 200&300, then I continued from 380 to see the recent trends. I'll recommend this strategy for any one that's new here and truly wants to get this done. You can do this under 3 weeks.

Here is my profile. Please help confirm that the points are correct based on recent activities.

Age: 25-32 (30pts)
English: Prepping for IELTS soon and aiming for superior (20pts) or proficient (10pts)
Work experience: 4yrs+ (5pts), considering waiting till mid next year before assessing to achieve 5yrs (10pts)
Qualification: B.Tech Biochemistry from Federal University of Technology Akure. It's a 5 year course (15pts). Please help confirm that it will be assessed as equivalent of an Australian bachelor's degree.
Visa subclass: open to 189 (preferred), 190&491 too.
Marital status: Married.

Simulation:
If I max the points from each requirement (excluding points from state nomination), I can have 75 points, or 65 if I can't max the IELTS.

Proposed job title to be assessed: Management Consultant (ANZSCO code 224711).

My job titles for the last 4+ years have ranged from Planning analyst, business analyst and information analyst (Same department), and my daily activities match the tasks on abs.gov.au

My concern lies with my course of study (Biochemistry) and what I do. I have an MBA (2023) but I don't know if it will put me in a better position for the assessment with VETASSESS. I'll appreciate your opinions and advise on this.

Check that you meet ALL the requirements of a Management Consultant as stated by vetassess in their information sheet
https://www.vetassess.com.au/check-my-occupation/professional-occupations/management-consultant

Do you work for a consulting organisation and are you independent?
You can add your Masters, it will help reduce the years of experience to be deducted from 2 to 1.

There's no option for my present occupation. And for other skills mentioned like; plumbing and others, it requires that you have a certificate. Some of those skills were just acquired.

Also, I'm a good cook and I've also checked that and found out that you also need to acquire a certificate as well. Should I choose anyone like that?
Anything you choose needs to be backed up with qualification and employment documents. So if you don't have them, then you will not be able to assess.

Good morning my beloved Narialand .

Please I need ur advice.

I have a cousin that travel to Kuwait on working visa..

And he said the country is good.
And he got his visa through an agent.. the working visa cost him 2.5-3m..

And he got a contract job for 3 years
Now he advised me to save some money and come over...

Now this is my condition i work in a company as a (fitter mechanical ) engineering..industrial mechanical technician ..(currently working)

With total salary of 204k monthly.

After tax pension.. HMO and other. My net will be 150k

I Am planning to save up some money for this journey..

please 🙏 I need ur advice on this .

do u think leaving my job of 204k and travel to Kuwait on working visa wot it?

Please if ur in my shoe what would u do? I am 36 years old.. just with tread test certificate.. on (fitter) mechanical

What advice do u have for me..

Thank u ...
I will recommend you ignore that cos that 3m will do much more for you in Australia where you can get Permanent resident and thereafter, get citizenship after 4 years. You won't get that in Kuwait.

Fitter is one of the fastest occupation to get nomination.
it cost A$795 to get an assessment and takes about 7-8 months (hopefully it reduces soon). So i will say jettison the idea of Kuwait and focus on this.

Others will wade in

Since you have prior experience, you can assess with Vetassess as a Construction project manager if you have some construction mgt related courses.
https://www.vetassess.com.au/check-my-occupation/professional-occupations/construction-project-manager

Your spouse can also assess as URP to increase your chances. You both have good options and should be able to snap 190 or 189 asap

in a case where someone is unable to get payslips , and tax certificates to show experience should I still apply for assessment ? I've been working for 3 years on my own and it will be hard showing payslips and the rest

You might still be able to assess with Vetassess if you have bank statement showing your salary. However for the visa application, Home Affairs will definitely require more employment payment documents than just bank statement especially the tax or pension.

Numerous folks on other multinational forums have been complaining of lack of invitations, despite high points....

If you check the websites of most states for some time now, the emphasis has been on the highly competitive nature of rounds.

Queensland even went ahead to advise prospective applicants for their side to explore other migration opportunities.

Everyone knows it's competitive but the same DHA still send 189 to some occupations for 65 points this last financial year. As many people are complaining of no invite so are many people still getting invitation and grant.
Every person to their own risk assessment. You don't have to give a blanket approach. Most of us will probably not be here if we had this notion. If you are waiting till everything is rosy to assess, by that time, the people who are ready have been invited.
Previous trends most times cannot be used to determines the trend in the new season as requirements and focus changes regularly with the federal and state government needs.

To everyone, if you have other options other than Australia, explore. If you don't have, stick your guns to it and give it a kick.

This is the point bro - a whole lot has changed since that time.

I know lots of people that received 190 invites..even with 65 points as at last year.

Nowadays, it's a whole lot more competitive...even for priority occupations like Teachers and Nurses.

As we speak, the slots for 189 this Financial year is half of last year's allocation.

The competition no be here baba.

Lots of onshore candidates with high points are waiting for invitations... nothing.

Not as if I am being antagonistic but with the way things are currently, it's better to check well before spending huge sums of money on skills assessment
This year (2024 not 2023), I have seen 65 for 190 and 491 invitations. Also, the link you posted above is only for 189. People were clinching 491 and 190 in the state with points as low as 65 and high as 105.

It's all about the state requirements and occupation. Let everyone do what they are convinced about.

Thus is wrong. When I was applying, my point was 65, with state point, before I managed to get 10 in PTE. Nomination points was at 85/ 90 then, even NSW reel out 105 as minimum points for my occupation. But in a twist of fate, 189 came, and everyone from 65 points got nominated for 189. 30,000 invitation was given out. Then all states were trying to attract the rest, that same NSW slashed their point to 65 points 3 months later, and people were even rejecting 491.
So there is no harm in trying, today I have my visa.
Thank you o!

NOmination requirements are not even released, so i'm wondering where the 85 came from

Before you assess with Vetasses or any other relevant body, try and simulate to get your points so as not to waste money.

For most occupations, don't bother if you do not have at least 85 points...

But if we don’t wait we won’t be able to claim the 3 year work experience as I believe vet access will deduct from his cure 3 years leaving him with 2 years work experience because he will have to use Unilag since it is a tier 1 school as the Job is a Group A work too
How do I explain this?

You experience continues to count if you are still in the same occupation after the Vetassess result. So if you wait till 4 years, you are delaying your assessment. You can assess, get whatever is deducted, lodge EOI and the experience still continues to count and when it's 3 years, the point automatically increases/ People without 3 years experience also get nominated.
Note that, you cannot get nomination without first doing the skills assessment and lodging EOI. A stitch in time saves nine.
