He raised him up to this point in his life. That makes him the father, and him the son. To me, whoever raised a child is the father, which is why the other father is largely known as the biological father, which to me is a sign of irresponsibility on the part of anyone referred to with "biological". My personal view please, am not forcing it on you.

That is a total of 42.75 per cent of the vote for the 4 of them. This shows that Cross and Queen share in between each other a total of 63 per cent of the votes. I suspected Cross would surely get a larger share than Queen.

Reminds me of my first visit to Lagos, in the company of others who are used to Lagos, my first experience with Molue was hilarious. We are going to Ikeja having disembark from Railway station since we are coming from Ilorin. Then the conductor was shouting Kosret, Kosret. That is how I and my guy enter, curiously, I had to ask them why we have to board that vehicle because where the guy was calling isnt our route. They told me what he meant was Eko Straight, Eko straight, that is Lagos Island. They told me Lagos conductor doesnt have time to pronounce all the words.

You just dont want to see change. You are used to the existing format. You think they did not think it over and over and also reason along with you? They had brainstorm this for a long time before now, even Wenger said it long time before now. Truth is that, we will be seeing real soccer, devoid of winning at all cost, poor officiating and of course best of the best. The urge to win at all cost will no more be there, and then there will be less players injuries, flexible rules will also come into force. We need this change, let us see how it goes.

Dannyozs:
Seems some ppl do not want to picture the far reaching consequences of this development. Mind you the ESL was never about the competition, this will be all about money, money, money to milk the game of football as much as possible.

Like a get rich quick system which condemns hardwork or due process, in this case it will be to hell with all the football teams who will never make the league.

The founding teams (12 or 15) will never be relegated irrespective of how they play.

The financial gap between elite teams and the unlucky ones will seriously affect the transfer market. Football will be all about money going forward which will breed more corruption, eliminate competition, ensure that these teams will dominate whatever is left of football going forward.

Mid table and struggling teams will have to fold up as they will only be chasing shadows.

The thrill that comes within the domestic leagues and UEFA competitions will no longer be there or here.

Why will anyone want to watch these teams play each other week in week out? What about longevity? The excitement that comes with big teams from different leagues playing each other once in a while?

Yes surely, viewers will be thrilled but after 2, 3 years it becomes repetitive, no more surprises, see finish, a money generating enterprise.

*Which is why the actual football fans - fans who support clubs in their local, fans who follow their teams not because they are popular, who have history with these teams, coaches, critics are strongly against it. Football should not just be about money, yes you need money to run these clubs but immediately it becomes solely about generating money kiss the game goodbye.

#UEFA is only crying because they've been dribbled not because they care about Football.

First of all I don't believe in that "do you believe in Mohammed stuff" nairaland posts before commenting on Muslim threads and I'm not even a religious person even though I was born and raised Christian..... On the matter I think it's very stupid for someone to not enjoy sex with his wife simply because of a religion that started in the middle East over 1500 years ago.

Bottom line
No one can dictate for me when to screw MY OWN WIFE.
Read the OP very well, it says, intercourse during the day while fasting. As you are not a religious person, so you wont know the rules of fasting.

Except we are not truthful to ourselves, the process has greatly improved from what it used to be. At least, we no longer see 99% turnout or 95% success for the ruling party. The major problem we now have is that of disruption, killing, snatching of ballot boxes, kidnapping of electoral officers and similar security issues. Less of blatant writing of result as we had in the past when votes didn't count.

Unfortunately, we cannot prevent these security challenges where the politicians, aided by the masses, have decided to engage in "do or die" criminal acts to win election, irrespective of who the president is.
Police snatching ballot boxes, Thugs snatching ballot boxes, Law enforcement agents being used to rig election, INEC duly compromised. Federal govt issuing dubious money to incumbent state governor days to election, govt distributing money as trader moni in a disguise for vote buying. Killing of opposition party agents, ruling party admiting that a sitting governor did not perform well and begging for his re-election, some of these and others are reasons to show you that, this party APC is worse than PDP, even though both are same 5 leprous fingers.

What were ubdoing as a mother when she did not complete her assignment... most patents are always d cause of this... thou the teacher took it to d extreme... but these days parenta hardly have time for thier kidss... and only things like this attract them
So having time for kids is supervising assignments? The work of the teacher is to teach academically, parents have their own task on kids at home too. I used to frown at assignments given to kids especially if they are too much. Nowadays teachers are so lazy as to teach, so they resort to giving assignments and then making parents crack their brain for what they had paid for. Assignments are for what was taught in class, to see if the kid have a grasp of it.
As for the kid from OP post, if a kid offence is non completion of assignments, then the teacher can make the kid do it in the class, not punishment, as far as am concern, on no circumstances does a teacher have right to impose corporal punishment on my kids.

Politics / Re: National Interest Supercedes Individual Rights – Supreme Court by twinstaiye(m): 8:37am On Aug 31, 2018
Asari Dokubo’s Case did not sanction departure from the rule of law.

In law, cases are decided upon their peculiar facts and circumstances.

Asari Dokubo was charged with treasonable felony, punishable with death. In our general jurisprudence in Nigeria, bail (enforcement of the liberty of a suspect) is only granted upon exceptional circumstances in capital offenses. This has been part of our laws for a long time. This is what the Supreme Court restated in this case, namely that any citizen accused of trying to overrun the nation may not enforce his right to liberty except he shows exceptional circumstances.
Now this is an exception to the general constitutional provision that anyone charged with a criminal office is entitled to bail.
Our main argument then is that in a democracy, you cannot elevate the rule of exception to be the norm of governance generally.
In the circumstance of the President’s speech at the Bar Conference, he wrongly stated (with due respect to Mr President) this exception to be the general rule.
So our point of objection therefore is that it is when a leader has other hidden intentions (bending towards dictatorship) that he falls in love with the exception to the general rule, as his policy for governance, if the main aim of such preference is to enable a leader curtail the rights and liberties of citizens.
And even when the rights and liberties of the individual are to be derogated from in the national interest, it is still the court that will make that determination, not the President or any security or law enforcement agency, as was the case with the former DSS Director.
Indeed in Asari Dokubo’s case, that decision was taken by the Supreme Court, within the ambit of the exercise of his right of appeal, still under the rule of law and due process.
And when the courts have weighed the options and decided that the citizen’s right should be enforced by granting him bail or release, such as in the case of Dasuki or El Zak Zaky, then you cannot turn around to rely on Asari Dokubo’s case, to perpetuate contempt of court and disregard for a lawful order of court.
So the Supreme Court decided Asari Dokubo, rightly or wrongly, but the court NEVER gave the President or the Executive arm the powers to determine how, when and if a citizen’s rights should be circumscribed under national security or national interest.
When that decision is taken ultimately by the court as in Asari Dokubo’s case, then the rule of law has prevailed.

This is our main point and not that you arrest a journalist and lock him up for two years without trial, under the bogus allegation that he is threat to national security!

God bless Nigeria.

We grew up to know our Traditional rulers, and we so much believed in them espescially when they are the custodians of our traditions, and with the notion that they are occupying the seat of their forefathers who by inheritance or sheer bravery were the creators of such stool. But the Governor of Oyo State had given a new meaning to traditional rulers, when he installed his own 21 "government" Rulers, what is tradition in those installed Obas? Now the same untraditional Obas are threatening to deposed an ancestral traditional Oba!!! Baiye ba yewon tan, Iwa ibaje ni won hu.

Politics / Re: Presidency Drags Senate To Supreme Court Over Magu, Others by twinstaiye(m): 10:12am On Jul 17, 2017
Since inception, efcc chairmen had gone to senate for confirmation, magu own too, even twice, Why has every EFCC chairman since inception, including Ibrahim Magu, sought Senate confirmation, if they did not need it? and when magu was rejected twice, that is when the executive now started interpreting the constitution to suit their purpose. This is a dangerous precedence for our democracy. And those who are saying corrupt senate, nobody is guilty until proven by competent court. If senates are corrupt, arent the executive too? or are we saying the executive are saints? So who will checkmate them? Magu cant even mentioned the amount recovered so far by efcc during the interview, there are lots of grounds to show that the senate was right denying him the chairmanship position.
I read it authoritatively elsewhere that since there are no express provisions in the Constitution for confirmation of EFCC heads by the Senate, the EFCC Act providing for this can’t be null and void, since it doesn’t go contrary to any constitutional provision.

9:03a.m. Supreme Court justices led by Justice Rhodes Vivour enters court room
9:33 a.m Justice Rhodes Vivour is now reading the judgements as it relates to the various applications.
9:43a.m He said the judgement did not declare the conduct of the PDP national convention as illegal.
“The national convention did not violate any court orders,” he said‎.
9:46a.m Reading the judgement, Justice Vivour explains how the national conventional should not have been disregarded by the appeal court.
The subject matter concerns Article 33 of PDP constitution which states:
There shall be a national convention…
All members of the party shall be bound by the decisions of leaders from the National convention.
Article 33 states the supremacy of the Natoinal convention.
Article 35 allows for the deputy national chairman
Article 47 states the party may remove the Natoional leader after two years.
May is not the same thing as shall, the judge said. A national officer can be removed without a vote of no confidence.
There can be no doubt that the National convention has enormous powers over the party.

Islam for Muslims / Re: Can I Eat The Food Prepared By My Girlfriend During Ramadan by twinstaiye(m): 4:52pm On May 26, 2017
If you would want, you can scan the internet on what the scriptures said about that, I bet you will find none. Having said this, I am part of people that believed that there are some islamic rules that had gone stale because as at the time Islam was being revealed, and as it was what is happening at that time, there are no rules that cover such incidences or even at that, things had changed from that time, in such circumstances, I use my common sense, believe in God, fear of Allah to judge my next action. If I were you in this scenario, I will allow her to cook for me during ramadan with pure mind. As for those who are saying girlfriend/boyfriend arent allowed, am sure if islam was being revealed as at date, and our Prophet is still alive, there would probably be revelations to cover such, because time and tide had changed so much that friends exist between lady and boys these days and no matter how we pretend to hide under religion, there is nothing we can do about it.
