What kind of prayer is this dude asking for? your mum drove under influence, caused the death of a man coming back from work, a man who has young children too.God is a God of justice PLS LET THE LAW TAKE ITS COURSE WITHOUT ANY SENTIMENTS. Hopefully, after the supreme court upholds her sentence, the FRSC should also suspend her driver's license like its done in saner climes. Its not as if she's sober sef, hell she may get drunk again and kill another person The Nigerian police should be empowered with blood-alcohol monitors and other tools do detect drunk drivers , its just that our policemen have chosen to be unfortunate For those that still get drunk and drive, your case no be for here, if you have an accident and die, do you think you will go to heaven? Dr Giwa's dependants should still sue the woman in a civil court for damages and possible financial compensation For those pleading for mercy etc for her, what if Dr Giwa was your father/son/uncle would you still say the same thing? that Dangote trucks and other trucks get away with things like this doesn't make it right, in saner climes Dangote/his insurers would be paying thru his/their nose(s) with possible jail terms meted out to some of those errant drivers or owners. Good thing is, we can start enforcing these laws from somewhere. E go better! |
Great gesture by the Swiss ![]() Would suggest that part of the money be used to upgrade our hospitals. $321m can really do a lot |
One of our drivers taught me, then i went to a driving school for a few days to learn road signs, basic car maintenance etc It was quite an experience! :d |
Now will joining this Islamic coalition benefit Nigeria ? i think its foolhardy for Nigeria to choose sides in the Shia-Sunni situation, wetin concern agbero with overload...? we are still battling with Boko haram, lets not provoke Iran into sponsoring another group.. Baba really needs to be more diplomatic in his utterances though, a lot of statements credited to him have been insensitive, its not only about honesty Nigeria will get there.. amen ! |
its a damn shame really, no animal should be worth human life and most likely none of the marauding blood-thirsty fulani murderers will be punished.. until we move from this ineffective old-fashioned pastoralist system to a ranch based system, there will be always be farmers-pastoralist clashes.. our security agents should also be more alert, a situation where fulani herdsmen carry automatic rifles and other arms in breach of the extant laws is just wrong.. it is well |
Sad situation.. the military authorities have come out several times to warn civilians against wearing camo.. its just unfortunate that he chose not to listen, THAT DOES NOT GIVE ANYBODY AN EXCUSE TO BRUTALIZE HIM THOUGH. I have always asked myself, what's so wrong with wearing items that have a camo pattern? stopping civilians from wearing it does not deter criminals, our security agents just need to step up their game.. people in developed countries wear camo and their security agencies are not complaining. |
@op.. just went through your profile, almost all your threads are about this dude..nobody deserves to be treated like thrash, no matter how fat, ugly there are or how fcukd up their past may have been. The writing is on the wall, leave him now! Anyways, since it seems you like to be treated like thrash, the day he kills you we will be here to read the sensational headlines. take care ![]() |
Animalistic behaviour ,i wonder what he does to his wife. the saddest thing is the fact that he is a doctor, doctors are supposed to be calm, reasonable and caring people. I hope he is properly dealt with.. both by the Medical and Dental council and the Nigerian Airforce authorities |
Hypocrites everywhere in... the same people who are heaping curses on the mother of the baby still sleep with their girlfriends without protection, trusting their pull-out game, oblivious to the possibility of unwanted pregnancies and STIs .. For all we care, the mother may have been gang raped, the baby may have been dumped there by its father, it takes two to tango and jumping into conclusions without hearing the full story is wrong.. If there's any lesson to be learnt, its that a lot more needs to be done concerning education about contraceptives, other alllied services and female rights generally but hypocrisy no go let us see road.. Wishing the baby quick recovery ![]() |
There's no spirit that causes 'madness'.. what we see as madness are just 'psychotic' manifestations of various mental illnesses and if the root cause is not managed, the manifestations will not leave... what she needs is a visit to a psychiatrist and lots of care and support by her family.. Nigerians are gullible people and we don't think for themselves, God has blessed us with the knowledge to manage a lot of illnesses, you don't need to go to a church to get a cure.. if that woman is not given the antipsychotics and other medications she will most likely need, she will relapse.. its not rocket science! |
i agree with the op 100%.. but pls note that 1. condoms don't completely protect against all STIs |
smh.. its best to avoid unproven therapies like alkaline water |
*sighs*
i hope they don't lock up hospital equipment and wards this time around.
the best thing is to privatize our hospitals.. |
Acidosis:before any lecturer can teach a preclinical course, he/she needs to have at least a masters in the course, so these lecturers you are bashing here have Mscs/Phds in physiology |
so sad, may her soul RIP ![]() the common oxygen cylinders in Nigeria don't use electricity, hence no need for UPS and thus making their claims false .. the woman was probably brought to the hospital critically ill (we see lots of cases here, people who self-medicate until its too late, instead of seeing a doctor asap) the hospital should sue the blog and the patient's relatives for damages. and pls, before you ignorantly blame doctors, do a quick google search, google is our friend |
Public health workers have threatened to
embark on an indefinite strike beginning
on Wednesday over alleged breach of
agreements by the Federal Government.
The workers, under the aegis of Joint
Health Sector Unions and Assembly of
Healthcare Professional Associations, had
earlier handed the government a 15-day
ultimatum with effect from February 3 to
accede to their 10-point demands or risk
a nationwide strike.
Among their demands, the workers called
for the heads of federal health
institutions to be designated “Chief
Executive Officers, against the present
Chief Medical Directors.”
The ultimatum dated February 1 was
contained in letter signed by JOHESU’s
Chairman, Biobelemoye Josiah, to the
Secretary to the Government of the
Federation, Mr. Babachir David Lawal,
and the Head of Civil Service of the
Federation, Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita.
It read, “In view of the failure of the
present Federal Government to accede to
our demands, JOHESU and AHPA, at their
joint meeting, resolved to give a 15-day
ultimatum beginning on February 3, 2016.
“It is our hope and desire that the
Federal Government would take necessary
steps to ensure that our demands are
met on or before Tuesday, February 17,
2016 in order to forestall the impending
avoidable industrial action.”
According to the workers, unless
government satisfies their demand, they
will resume the suspended strike.
The body decried the marginalisation of
its members which contribute 95 per cent
of health care providers for the country,
JOHESU demanded the implementation of
new circular on the promotion of its
members from CONHESS 14 to 15 as
directors, “which places premium on the
need to sanction defaulting hospital
managements.”
According to them, the HoS should ensure
the expedited issuance of an enabling
circular authorising consultancy cadre for
health professionals, who have adhered
to due process, to be vested with
consultancy status.
They also demanded the payment of
arrears of specialist allowances to
qualified hospital-based health
professionals with effect from January
1, 2010 and immediate and full payment
of arrears of the skipping of CONHESS
10, which has remained outstanding since
the year 2010.
The workers also asked the Federal
Ministry of Health for a circular on
residency programmes for all health
professionals in Nigeria to ensure
professional capacity development in the
health sector.

sarzy:Dr Olurotimi Badero, Dr Olajide Williams, Dr Ibrahim Bolaji, Dr Nicholas Ogunmola, Dr Olusegun Oseni this is just to mention a few of them, a large % of black doctors in the US are Nigerians and there are more Nigerian doctors abroad than are practising at home |
the same Nigerian-trained doctors that we are bashing here are the ones making waves abroad.. Google is your friend She probably had intestinal perforation from a colonoscopy to screen for colorectal cancer, intestinal perforation is a recognized complication of colonoscopy and can occur ANYWHERE in the world.. instead of encouraging the government to upgrade hospitals and get better equipment (with reduced complication rates) na always the fault of doctors... sad thing is other allied health workers who should know better will also join people to bash doctors afterall.. all na professional rivalry. Teaching hospitals are called teaching hospitals for a reason, no consultant was born with medical skills, they had to go through a learning curve of several years... hopefully the courts will settle everything, however if the hospital is found innocent, the husband should be countersued for damages by the hospital.. qed |
the doctor should have gotten a chaperone.. na how people dey lose their license be that..ignorance is not an excuse, avoid stories that touch today dear op.. the doctor is meant to check EVERY part of both breasts, both the normal and 'diseased'.. so he probably was just doing what is recommended.. there's nothing like student doing housemanship, a doctor is a doctor and all doctors are students as they are always learning, unlearning and relearning throughout life .. for those telling her to request for a female doc, how many women are ready to do long and 'unfamily-friendly' residencies like O and G and General Surgery? |
0gbeni: |
Siena:thanks chief, appreciate the gesture .. checked it.. its red and does not have a burnt smell, i changed the ATF 3 months ago though |
bro, @digriz.. can we talk? pls respond to my pm.. thanks |
Happy for you op, told my kazeems to look for the icv and vacuum hose that connects to the throttle body, it was as if i was speaking Chinese..is there any local terminology or how did you explain to them? |
Sorry bro, same thing happens to my golf mk3 sometimes..Ive taken it to various mechanics but they can't find a solution.. if you solve yours,do let me know ![]() |
Sorry about your situation OP.. just shows that your bf does not love you, he's only after your body.... Don't allow anyone to tell you to keep or abort the baby, afterall.. more than 85% of the men telling you to keep the baby will never marry an 'after-one' woman and a unwanted baby negatively affects a woman's education and career.. on the other hand, abortion is still illegal in Nigeria and a poorly executed abortion could lead to the loss of your womb/and or life.. Tell your mum asap and disregard those religious nonsense.. May God be with you |
Thank God for your sister's life bro, so happy your family decided to seek psychiatric help instead of taking her to a church or babalawo ,mental illnesses are more common than we think and we should all be alert to their signs and symptoms.. and pls advise your sister to be compliant with her medications and clinic attendance ,relapses can be brutal.. Personally, i don't believe there's any spirit that causes any illness, sick people are just sick and can get better with medication.. |
Akin1212:Okay.. the breathing aid could have been faulty bro, you'd be surprised at the amount of basic emergency/elective equipment our hospitals lack in Nigeria, most Nigerians are very religious people who take the sanctity of life very seriously. Ehat I will just suggest is that let's pressure the government to overhaul our hospitals |
Voluntary euthanasia can be legalized, frees greviously injured /terminally ill patients from a lot of pain and stress and also helps the financial situation of the family that the patient leaves , what's the point of paying 40,000/day in an ICU if the patient is already brain dead and will most likely never wake up again? Sorry about your uncle @op but i don't think the nurses did euthanasia, he must have died enroute the theatre, most non-medical people dont understand how a lot of things work ( esp in our health system here) and they wrongly accuse health workers, pls Google things at the minimum before concluding |
Nigerians tho.. visit zoo, una no go visit, na malls and movies, read about wildlife on your smartphones, nope .. na so so twitter and Facebook.. the average white man knows more about our local flora and fauna than us, its a big shame |
i wonder if his cars have passed crash tests, airbag tests etc and i hope more government agencies and private individuals patronize him. |
interesting to see the various comments on this thread, the op shouldn't have posted this and the op could have done simple ATLS(a, b, c, d, e) on the patient before anything... what this post just shows is the deep rot in the Nigerian health care, the deep rot starts from the lack of funding, to the lack of basic equipment, to the deficient medical training, to the poor welfare packages, its just a shame... if there's anything I've learnt, its that people would criticize poor doctors doing their jobs first than look for solutions and the average Nigerian does not give a damn about the poor healthcare system until he/she has cause to use public hospitals |
a Casio wristwatch and a shoe .. Hope their prices will be slashed? |
