Romance › I'm Yet To Survive The Guilt Of Accidentally Killing My Beautiful Wife by 0ubenji(op): 4:02pm On Jul 14, 2016 |
WHAT'S UR ADVICE FOR HIM ?? --------------------------------------------.
The grief and guilt nearly strangled my heart.
The day before our anniversary (she was almost eight months pregnant with our first child) is when I killed her.
It was about 10:30 PM on March 7 when we pulled onto the highway on the way to celebrate our one-year wedding anniversary. Looking over at her dark hair, porcelain face and her very pregnant belly, I said: “I’m glad you’re with me.”
“You are?” she asked in her sweet way that shows the pure pleasure of surprise.
“Yeah, of course I am.” I said with a huge smile. “You deserve a kiss for that.” And she leaned across the Car and kissed me on the cheek.
“I love you,” I said.
“I love you,” she said.
Those were the last words we’d say to each other.
Just 45 minutes later, with my pregnant wife sleeping soundly next to me, I fell asleep while driving. I woke up just before the collision. The panic was like that feeling you get in a nightmare.
This can't be happening!
I slammed on the breaks and jerked the wheel with all my might, but it was too late. When I woke in the hospital, there was a stranger standing by my bed.
“Where’s my wife?” I asked. His face contorted, looking for the right words to say in an impossible conversation. No answer.
“Where’s my wife?” I demanded. Still, without the words, all he could give was a silent stare.
Finally, the panic now coming back to me as I started to remember, “WHERE’S DEBBIE?”
Now, with the only words he could find, “They only brought back one body from the accident.”
Drugged up from my own injuries and overwhelmed by the shock, I passed out.
When I woke up in the hospital again, there were about 40 people in the hospital room, but the only two I saw were her mom and dad.
I could hear their thoughts echoing in my mind ...
HOW COULD YOU BE SO RECKLESS?!
How could you let this happen?!
How could you …?!!
At that moment I wanted to become someone else so I could strangle myself to death.
I wanted to be a trained fighter so I could beat myself to a bloody pulp, until the former me begged for forgiveness. I wanted to be anyone else so I could join her parents in their grief and anger at this reckless asshole who let their daughter die while he was driving.
In the few months that followed, I worked hard to self-destructively accomplish all three.
The way my wife and I ended up together was as terrific as the end was tragic ...due to my mistake or as some other part of says it's not my fault..
Now my in-laws or anyone don't know the truth of what happened that night..I stil hate myself for letting nature's call(sleep) cause the untimely death of their daughter.. -------------------------------------------------- IS IT ADVISABLE TO CONFESS HOW IT HAPPENED TO THEM(in-laws)..?? I REALLY WANT TO..maybe it could actually start my healing process too..I'm a broken man. |

Pascalin90: I would suggest you have a one-on-one chat with the man, that is,if truly you love the girl and wish to marry her. The man may be guilty of the accusations because there is no smoke without fire they say. But looking at it from a critical point of view, why hasn't your fiancee told you about this all along? She too needs to be investigated to avoid stories that touch. Dis needless time u fink he shud spend investigating.. If he spends it seekin God in prayers and lookin very well dis time for anoda woman..he'll definitely see somtin better.. |

harsysky: Dear Op, My comment may not actually make sense to anyone, but I don't care. I'm writing directly to you Op because you've come here for a solution. I've also read a lot of people's comments, especially the " run for your life!"
I would have easily said you should run, but come to think of it, "No one is perfect". You ain't, Op, no matter how sympathetic and sensitive you may think you are. That girl of yours may have undergone series of assaults or brain-wiring that most or some of us have also undergone, Only that hers might have gotten into her so , so much. It may not be her fault actually. Be rest assured she can come of it and love like never before.
I like you a lot Op. Your sense of care and observation, I respect so much. You never can tell if you would have acted more than your wife-to-be if you were in her shoes. Leaving her and not picking her calls means one thing to me. You wana be those kind of people who know how to deal with a problem but leave it because they respect people's say more than theirs. Talk to your girl. Atleast, there is something you've seen in her that has attracted you to her. Assuming you didn't see her Dad, you wouldn't be here complaining, right? Don't think the next person you will meet will be that saint. You could save that family. The head of that family might have done something anyone could even kill him for ,but I believe they still feed him atleast. It means there is still 1% love for the old man. They can still love him to the fullest but need to be convinced that one does not pay evil with evil otherwise evil will be in circulation.
I can never forget the advice my aunt gave me one precious day. I was having a problem with my Dad. I was thinking he never loved me. Then , the auto-correct advice came and it goes thus: " the only man who hates you is one who shuts you out all round. Does your Dad shut you out?". " No" I replied "Then he loves you more than anything" she concluded
I believed her whole-heartedly. she is now my mentor. *chews kola* *gulps dry gin*... Erm...bros...so wen ur unmarried sista tells u one day she went to her fiance's ause nd saw him beating his mom mercilessly..which appears to be a routine from wat he told her; dat his mum did dis and dat in d past.. U wud repeat dis same epistle baa? |

freecocoa: OP, while I don't support anyone being maltreated, you can't rule out everything your woman said because believe me you, I know a family like that back in the uni.
The man used to maltreat his wife and kids when he had some change, when things changed, the woman didn't forgive him, ergo did things to show him she was bitter at him, blah blah blah.
It's not news that some men are worse than the mythical devil when they have money, so you need to be sure before taking any decision, it's hard to know that your father maltreated your mum and still be nice to him. I dint quite get the point of dis ur comment-cum-advice sef.. What does he need to be sure of exactly?.. If d OP finds out the man expectedly maltreated his fiancee and her mom b4...so wat dey did in return is an indicator for a gud wife shey?.. So when he bcums SURE of the probable...WHAT NEXT?? |

But as much as it takes the grace of God to forgive, if they won't forgive him genuinely for the past they should let him go. Exactly my point mehn..but the wickedness in dem won't let him go unless dey av finished him.. |
