kaeto: The urge to split is already being ignited senselessly by the north without their due consent but I know the deciesion and to how many parts the country splits depends on key factors such as, the international community, the interest of the US and UK and what they stand to loose and/or gain oil wise. Generally I see Nigeria split into a directionless north and an extremely formidable south where deals will be struck and adhered to even between the west and east, also a repatration of northerners and fulanis with the barricading of borders against infiltrating northerners who will be willing to die than live in the north.

our sentiments exactly! abi you no notice how we enjoy our "directionless" we want to help you have your beautiful southern country and with GEJ govt it shouldn't be a herculean task, work on it please and i promise you we will support.

It will encourage speedy developement. Most states have nothing to offer but depend on monthly allocation frm FG to survive yet they are still ungrateful/ not satisfied. Some European countries are not up to 10million in population but some states in Nigeria are more than that. Jamaica operates with less than 3million people.Believe me,with our present population growing at a geometric rate yet we still depend solely on OIL to survive,Nigeria will deteriorate at a fast rate if the country is not divided now.Only a dullard and selfish politicians still believe Nigerians are one.ONE NIGERIA my foot.

Who cares about its division as long as it can yield positively to our many aspirations such as guaranteed job security, constant nd affordable food supply, conducive political environment, religious tolerance nd many more.

duni04: See dreamers. Can't believe people are still talking division in the 21st century. It'll never happen, not now or in a million years to come. We should focus on settling our differences and leveraging on our collective strength and resources. If we start dividing ourselves now, where will it stop? What if the Ijebu's want to form their own country separate from the Yoruba or the Oyos feel the Egba people aren't Yoruba enough. What if the Ijaws want their own country separate from the Niger Delta. What if the Bayelsa Ijaws want a separate country from the Delta Ijaws. Are we going to continue splitting and dividing till each person is left to his father's compound? Where will the division stop Yes every group or ethnic nationality has a right to self determination but we owe it to ourselves to try to make this country work. Will splitting Nigeria eliminate corruption? Will everyone in 'Oduduwa republic' suddenly become a saint and stop stealing?
Let's just come together and sort our problems out. No matter how romantic this secessionist idea is, its not going to take away any of our current problems. We're all black for christ sake. Let's sit down and work it out!!!

My friend,do you really understand your self?
Differences for disintegrations:
They are Nomadics-others arent
They are illiterates-others educated
They are majority muslims-others majority christians.
They are religious murders-others are religiously tolerant.
They look arabs-others look western
They are polygamous-others enjoys monogamy.
I think it is high time we divide this country along ''They'' and ''others''.

it is appalling that we all anticpate the disintegration of our great nation without considering the root cause of our national problem. without addressing these core issues which as equally brought us to the brink of national disintegration, am strongly of the opinion that the propose regions will equally suffer same fate because of our individual greed which often jeopardize our collective interest. in addition, we must equally realize that our national strenght lies in our diversity and it is our collective responsibility to speak out against injustice of any kind and we should be objective in our criticism. God bless Nigeria!!!
Re: Picture Of Nigeria Divided: Is This The Future? by Chinom(m): 10:52am On Aug 18, 2012
Wishful thinking !. Nigeria will never split along those lines. The only split possible is a North-South divide. That is also the most viable and advantageous to every section.
The second option is a Switserland type confederation. The Niger Delta has zero chance of separation. If the old Biafra could not succeed, no other Southern state would in today's Nigeria. We all need to sit down and talk.
Re: Picture Of Nigeria Divided: Is This The Future? by Sagamite(m): 10:54am On Aug 18, 2012
If OP knew anything about Nigeria, then he would realise:

- There is no way Southern Kaduna will go willingly with any Arewa Republic.

- There is no way Cross River will go willingly with any Biafra Republic.

We're stronger together; a large market, large pool of labor; great political clout on the continent. Why throw everything away for a romantic idea that won't solve any problem but will just reduce our strength in numbers? Just because we can't sit down and work it out, or because we've all been too weak to demand accountability and prudence from our government.

Yoruba nations have the least chance of breaking away for obvious reasons.

You must be out of your mind, with level of killing, beefing, sycophancy and tribalism, Nigeria is long over due!
We have little or nothing in common to be, if one is born to rule, he should rule his kindred not Nigeria of today with the fast changing world that need innovative leaders. The citizens know next to nothing of what citizenship of a nation is. No benefit, No commitment, only i dont care attitude. For how long do you live in dark in mist of plenty ?
USSR did it, Sudan did it, Why not Nigeria!

Danka7777:

Sensible Yoruba man, trying your best to include edo, tactically excluding Onitsha and ultimately luring the Niger Delta Republic into Oduduwa Republic for their oil...sabi better thing o.

Edo can join Oduduwa but Niger Delta will never ever ever have anything to do with yorubas; they have nothing in common with them. People forget that 70% of Niger Deltans have igbo names and can speak Igbo fluently. Many people don't know this. Do you know that late Maryam Babangida could speak Igbo fluently, same goes with Deizani Madueke?

Lol! who says we have no oil in the west? Is it not because of the present national structure that the oil discovered in Badagry,Ogun and several parts of the west have not be tapped?(https://www.nairaland.com/177686/crude-oil-found-ogun-state) I just felt that it will make more sense to have niger/delta merge with oduduwa

Re: Picture Of Nigeria Divided: Is This The Future? by ololo12: 11:16am On Aug 18, 2012
Split the Goddamn country between the North and South. Then let the stakeholders in the southern region come together to map out a new plan for the co-existence of people in the southern part. It should be a true confederalism set up. Make Lagos the capital, the component states within should use their resources to develop their component states, every month donate say 40% to the center which is Lagos. Other states that don't have resources, the center will support them and encourage them to go into large scale farming. I think this will be the perfect way out... I stronly advocate for the splitting of this country.

If GOD can only open our eyes to the potentials in this country after division then we will pray and fast for the disintegration to happen fast.

The Igbos have a Jewish pedigree, they are very good in inventing things and infarct the igloos will do better than japan and china combined if allowed to have their independence but will never exhibit their prowess if they still remain under the bondage of this slave master called Nigeria.

The Hausas will also do very well in agricultural produce which they are well known for while the Yorubas will make use of their intellect and vast educational background to achieve great feat but as long as we still remain as one nation we may never ever ever reach our full potentials.

The only northerners want Nigeria to continue are the;
1. Big business tycoons because their business base in south
2. Theives politicians who depend on Government's money
3. Old theives who already stole oil blocks and the blocks are in the south
4. Political mafias who use south for polical maneuvering either by rigging or by using sentiments

But ordinary northerner has nothing to loos in dividing Nigeria.
