Thanks,

I got in at 1.01, I'm thinking of Holding out for 1.8,

Probable?
IMO, a lot will depend on their Q2 results.
But, with all the information, facts and evident realities, IMO, 1.8 is a realistic figure for a medium term of 1 - 2 years.

chillykelly86: Sterling Bank PLC Q2 2013 results
You can follow the link below to view Sterling Bank's Q2 2013 results.
By the way, I think this result is H1 and not Q2, as reported. They mix all these things here in Nigeria.

I see no quarter on quarter growth in PAT.
What are your takes?
proshareng.com/news/20450

The results look good right? They have reported nice yoy growth for all metrics.

Guys any views on the results?

Courtville come down to 50k with all its potentials? Never again! Courtville is headed up. In a year's time, it should be trading above N2.

Can one still buy oando now for long term. of 1-3years

saanil: Also I saw a news that GTB is acquiring Fina Bank for $100mn - is this a good acquisition? How does one analyze bank acquisitions?

Usually when company acquires another the stock price should fall and the price of the one acquired should rise. The reason is that acquisition dilutes shareholder's fund either by borrowing to finance the acquisition or by allocating the acquired company's shareholders part of the the company's shareholders fund. However this usually happens for a short to medium term. In the long term acquisition can position the acquired company better and increased its revenue.

In Nigeria, this might not be the case. Nothing works normal in the country. I am sorry if I offend the Patriot. I wouldn't be surprised tomorrow if the share price of the Bank rises to #50 before crashing again.

Just trade with caution.

If you have more cash to spare, why not? But I am out of Oando for now. They have to much cash which can be problem.

nothing much serious will happen to courtville and livestock for now as they will go to bed to meet okomu oil but the fact is that the three stocks are very strong with defined and devouring business.good for long term and any one who invest in agricultral sector now would have nothing to lose as federal government have learned their lesson in oil business and now try to remember agric.agriculture in nigeria is attractive to foreign agricultural based companies

Their margins are thin and they carry a lot of debt but now is probably the best time to buy Oando if you are looking to hold for the medium term. The current share price already gives you an earnings yield of 34%!!! Hard to beat that. Problem however is that I do not see them holding the debts far too long so EPS may dilute going forward. So, to answer your question directly...If it were me I'd be buying. Cheers

By the way.... I hope to be more active in this forum now that I have decided to publish one of my Portfolios. For the Value Investors out there looking for Stocks with good yields...we'd probably have some fun together. That's not to mean our Growth Stock brothers are not fun...their short term insights is probably the best barometer for knowing when to seek a bargain. Cheers
