Except that Boston event doesn't happen every week or every month. If it does we will have to declare the city unsafe. But kidnappings, robberies, etc are almost daily occurrence in Lagos and Nigeria. More than 3/4 of it are not even reported in the news. I know someone close to me whose mother was kidnapped with a week old child in Lagos about 2 weeks ago. You dont want to know what the family went through, how much was paid and where they eventually left the victims.

If you have not been affected, thank God. But we have serious security challenges in Lagos and in Nigeria. BTW, am a proud Lagosian/Nigerian, just have to state the facts.
Do u knw dat thousands of people die of gun- related violence in America(yearly)? The number of people dat die in just one year exceeds the total number of people dat ave lost their lives as a result of boko haram activities in d last 3 years. Google it.

Because of a job interview, in Sept., 2012 I had to travel from Jalingo to Jos in the night. I left Jalingo by 5:30pm, reached Numan by 9:00pm. I was in Gombe by 11:00pm. I boarded a taxi in Gombe & arrived in Jos by 4:00am. There was no problem on the way apart from some portions of bad roads. Security officials were very active in the night. I went to Jos & returned back safely.

What is wrong with saying spoken English. The guy actually writes the way he speaks. What about your won writings? You wrote "you" instead of your. You think you know, but you wrote "the referring". Explain why you used "the" before referring. What kind of grammar is that? Confisticate was an honest typo error. The whole world knows it is confiscate. By the way, look at my writing again if I actually typed "confisticated" as you claimed. Is your reading glasses dirty, lost or stolen? You better don't dare me when it comes to English Language. I don't think you know the difference between making mistakes when someone fails to proofread their writings and when someone just plainly writing nonsense.
how did you know that the guy speaks the way he writes? You made a blunder don't try to be wise about it. Does the bolded line make sense to you? You've criticized Nigeria's educational system a few times here, so I ask again, where did you learn such poor grammar?

That's a direct challenge.

I've told you to drop your old views on the Naija you left behind in the 90s. Naija has changed. Armed robbery has decreased compared to what it used to be back in your days. You really need to get with the program. When we're travelling now we hardly even think about robbers. cool

Why not travel to Maiduguri, Kano, Zamfara and spend few days there before coming here to tell us how safe Nigeria is? Are those places not part of Nigeria? I travelled from New Jersey to North Carolina between 1:30am and 9am without any itch from police, armed-robbers or anyone, could that be possible in Nigeria with a brand new car in the middle of the night? You are spinning too much these days, bro. Just yesterday you came here to post about a phony $100B investment coming to Nigeria. Stop it!
. More than 80 million people are living safely in the north. Driving on the road safely in uk or usa doesnt mean violent crime dont happen their. In fact crime rate in nigeria is nowhere near what it is in south africa, uk or usa.

You have to know nigeria is in a civil war and in a civil war anyone can die., and anyone who does not want to die, does not want to do anything that they will kill him for.. because the nigeria army is divided, that why a while back i show you pictures of men in military boots..

You people are fighting rebellion within the nigeria army .. and you have to know they are trained to kill people..

They will kill any of you .. This is war and in war anyone get killed.. and you people dont get it yet.. the army is divided over the satellite pictures.

Here is the truth.. Goodluck have only two option to the satellite pictures which is creating the problem.

they are side to this story.

1. Those who want nigeria to remain one and continue the cheating
2. And those dont want nigeria as one, that they should break it.

You most look at the two set of people.. Which one is more.. The number 2 is 97% of nigeria, because most of them dont want to die.. so they prefer they break up nigeria.

The number 1 is just 3% who own business in Nigeria people like dangote, adenuga, otedola.. governor, senator, house of rep, businessman etc

So goodluck Jonathan option is either he kill people in number one who are just 3 % of nigeria or he kills number 2. You will see, it is more easy to kill number 1 than kill number 2.

But Goodluck have choose to kill number 2 instead.. And you can see it was not a wise decision.. because he still have millions of people to kill. It leave him no other alternative than to kill number 1.

So basically Goodluck Jonathan have no other option than to change to plan 1 to kill 3% of Nigeria the likes of like dangote, adenuga, otedola.. governor, senator, house of rep, businessman etc To be able to break up Nigeria.

This is the only option Goodluck Jonathan has.

The only way to avoid killing Plan 1, which are like dangote, adenuga, otedola.. governor, senator, house of rep, businessman etc is if this people who fall into this group switch or quickly jump from been in the path 1 and switch to people who are in plan 2.. This is the only way, Goodluck Jonathan can avoid not to kill likes of dangote, adenuga, otedola.. governor, senator, house of rep, businessman etc

So you can see it is a difficult decision to take.. If Goodluck had gone for Plan1.. before.. I am telling you many of the 3% will have jump to the become boko haram in less than 24hours.. because nobody want to die..

it is quiet easy to convince Option 1 people.. because alot of them are educated.. so i wonder why he went for option 2 in the first place. He calls all of them to meeting and show them the pictures. Hold a gun and asking them to bring along their first child.. anyone who want nigeria to remain.. should shoot his own first child like in the bible.. adenuga will not shoot his first child. he will become OPC in second.. dangote will quickly join Boko haram

You are going to have serious problem. I wish you people. well.

bomly: Anyway whether or not is unsafe is dependent on where you have stayed and lived and where you are comparing it to. If you compare Nigeria to Sudan and Somali and Haiti then you can possible say Nigeria is safe but if you compare it to France, Dubai or America then you will tremble and say Nigeria is unsafe. So what is safety with the bomb blast and killings of people everyday, Yes this does not only happen in Nigeria but it still doesn't change the fact that it's happening. Infact how many wealthy people do you see build houses without huge fences? That explains how safe it is, also how many people move without escort also tells you about security.

Lets tell yourselves the truth as that is where change begins, we need solution but how can we have one when each time people say Nigeria is safe and Nigeria is Poor and all is okay, Please from my view; We need more security, thanks for the present security but we need more security. No, foreigners are not hyping this, they are only evaluating from the resources they believe we have as to where we should be, in real sense it depends on a lot of factors to reach out a conclusion, but meanwhile everything is based on where you're looking at it from.
nobody says nigeria is safe.... Buh it's not as bad people painted it

You are a bloody hypocrite..You are against me calling it a bad name, not because of the truth attached to my words.

You are afar from that same country you are gracing, guaranteeing people the safe state of it, while you stood abroad sending prevarications across, and not from your country.. Thats enough to be called a genocide and terrorism. Every evil, put together angry

You can imagine a country who romances terrorists and granting bombers/killers of millions of lives amnesty; while the true loyal citizens with no crime records are rejected their gratuities.. A country where police force rams false accusation down your esophagus...A country where death is guaranteed at any slightest slip...A place where 1million naira is charge for a victim who stole 50billion...A country with no true justice...A place where the rich tramps on the poor, for more increase...A country where doctors work in the bank, while bankers work in the hospital..Country where you can buy a judge after wiping a whole family out of the world... Come back and walk freely like you always do in the states and then give me your report.

Na your type go come back from abroad, begin look everyone with a fixed gazed eye, even at the nearest innocent man with no intention of harming.

Mr President, if you are reading this. DO SOMETHING. you are no special human to anyone before God. So stop depriving your fellow human of their right to live.

My brother, I agree with you but the writer of the article is trying to say is that Nigerians should be constructive when criticizing the country. CNN and ABC will never show the thousands of homeless people living the streets of South Central Los Angles or the Tenderloin Area in San Francisco because they always wanna protect the image of USA in the eyes of the world. There is no country in this world that does not have its own peculiar problems. First world countries has first world problems while third world countries has third world problems. Nigeria has lots of problems like any other country but that doesn't mean I will talk shit about my country. Nigeria is my country and I love my country. Naija4life

Dude, we are all optimistic and committed to Nigeria, else many of us would have put our investment elsewhere. The truth is, things are not good and there is no visible sign that We are changing things for the better. We keep deceiving ourselves by not being honest and addressing our short fall squarely. Let call a spade a spade. We have serious security challenge, coupled with very high poverty that requires urgent redress by the leadership in the land to forestall the human catastrophe that would greet the nationhood soonest.

Some of us do our very best to promote Nigeria, but Nigeria does very little to promote herself undecided
Sometimes am sick of these dude that got to foreign land and immediately wants to draw some yardstick btw their land of sojourn and home. This is crazy. Some ppl had persecusion complex coupled with life of inferiority and superiority. They live a fake life with no atom of reality. Just because u travelled to london and that made it a point to draw in comparison to the sophistication of england?. Unless u want to still live in fake environment, keep drawing nigeria with england. U are a disgrace to the embassy that gave u the visa. Am tired of seeing these ignoramus here, always beating and pinching nigeria for their fustration in nigeria. Just like okonkwo in things fall apart, u are full of fears and trembling because of your own weakness to stay in a land that had given u everything before u discovered that u were weak enough to stay here. Dont be nerve. And dont always make the mistake of talking about england here again. As far as am concerned our fellow third world nation could do. U just got to london, and wat if u got to paris wat would u do? Die in excitement? pls dont use 504 to remind me that my papa's volkwagen no be am!

safe country indeed . nl is full of these stories

everyone of us has been or knows someone who was the victim of violent robbery / kidnapping

these desperate liars

robbers were robbing my boss estate last year as he was driving into his house - they were fully armed
they attacked him later in hold up
they attacked my colleague on her way to work one morning
they attacked my wife in a hold up
they robbed and shot my colleagues relative
a colleagues neighbour was kidnapped as he was driving into his house
i was attacked by robbers last year

every nigerian can provide their own personal statistics of this nature

everytime i drive into my close , i am always on high alert for kidnappers

the op is disgusting and a liar. he cannot claim that he does not have friends /relatives/acquantnces who have been victims of crime

to say the country is unsafe is an understatement

rossik should ask NOI if nigeria is safe

There is no such thing as a "safe" country nevertheless nitwits like yourself blow these things outta proportion.

Nigeria isn't safe.
Even in Ikoyi, the richest neighbourhood in Nigeria, you can't go on a run at 6am. You are very likely to get mugged or even kidnapped.

What you call safe is places like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, where you can get up at 3am and walk on the streets and not even see anybody. Yet nothing happens to you. Without sentiments, Nigeria cannot be classified as a safe country abeg.
